Let’s be real. Hasn’t been an easy-peasy Springtime, mentally-socially… And we’re JUST coming to the first New Moon after the Spring Eclipses (Apr 30 & May 15 / 16).
The current cosmic weather of MERCURY retro / stat. (going direct again on June 3) end of TAU in square with SATURN stat. / (going retro on June 4) mirrors the repetitive gloomy-cool low pressure systems rolling out across Western Canada for weeks now… and the atmosphere in our minds, as in society.
Mind-sets & -loops (understandably) focused on recurring and more anticipated problems (late TAU has a VIR undertone). Triggered by information and communication about what’s going on in / for society, systems, and the future of humanity (SATURN stat. in late AQ, with a GEM undertone).
Let’s see what the New Moon in GEM on May 30 has to ‘say’, how its energy can help ‘remove obstacles’ and newly inspire us. Even, dare I say, help change the course / trajectory. How she initiates new learning, new avenues / alternatives, new questions, new dialogues – new Alchemy!

Showing how GEMINI is the Alchemist of dualities. The two hemispheres of the brain (ruled by GEM) are an expression of that – and the current MERCURY retro is helping us re-balance, via intuition, openness to synchronicities, and ‘inner messages’ that may otherwise go unnoticed, under the predominance of ‘rationality’. It also helps us ‘connect the dots’ and feel connected in the larger fabric of the web of life – rather than being entangled in the dualistic / polarized mental matrix of the information society.
How about starting with the Heart? The unifyer of ‘mentalities’, bringing two-ness into oneness, and restoring equanimity (a balanced mind)….
The GEM New Moon with MERCURY retro reminds us: We can be Alchemists of conflict, polarities, and opposites (the key of suffering these days), in so many ways – always back to the ONE. This is just the Beginning!
2022 is SO much about TWO-ness, as is GEM. Yet, numerologically, it adds up to 4 (2+2) or 6 (2+0+2+2), bringing us back to the Heart Chakra (4th) and Third Eye (6th), both Unifiers.

Let’s explore, honour, and learn from ‘her entourage’ of planetary ‘players’ & the overall Astro sphere:
Lopsidedness& its Balance
Not ‘just’ polarities but also imbalance?!
Again, like in all the New Moon energy fields since Dec 2021(!), only half of the Zodiac circle is occupied, from late CAP (PLUTO) to early CAN (LILITH). Still no Planets between early CAN and late CAP.
This strong imbalance affects those of us with Planets between CAN and CAP. They don’t get directly stimulated / activated / energized these days / months (except by the MOON). Their Archetypes as well as the Houses areas where CAN to CAP is in your chart may feel ‘depleted’, ’empty’, ‘unnoticed’, ‘under the radar’, ‘neutralized’, while being indirectly stimulated via aspects from the PLUTO-to-LILITH ‘gang’.
On the other hand, if you have mostly Planets between late CAP and early CAN, these inner Archetypes may get overstimulated, which you may experience as lots of charge, or overwhelm / exhaustion.
What’s missing, in this 180° ‘Bowl’ configuration, is to be found in the ’empty space’ opposite of the centre of the ‘Bowl’, here: in LIBRA. I.o.w.: Harmony, culture, relatedness, fairness, and: Balance itself.
LIBRA would also balance out the super-ARIES energy field (strongest last week), concentrated round MARS / JUPITER. Is life really a battle field?!
Plus: the early GEM (first 10 degrees) energy of the New Moon has a LIBRA undertone.
Thankfully, the ‘Goddess of LIBRA’, VENUS, has just moved from fierce, feisty, and fast ARIES into Her Spring domain of TAU, on May 28, adding balancing Beauty, Pleasure, Calmness, and EnJoyment to the picture.
So YES, Balance is much needed, and available now. The New Moon loves ceremony. Why not creating a beautiful one, re: Balance?
Unaspected New Moon
Another peculiarity: The New Moon Union of SUN & MOON stands all by itself, without any aspect links to Planets (see chart).
In its own ‘Moon Unit’ so to say… Uninfluenced by other ‘Players’, not disturbed / distracted / supported. A cauldron for the Yin-Yang Alchemy.
The first aspect the MOON forms after Newness (in the evening of May 30) will be the sextile to also unaspected CHIRON in AR. The Alchemy of polarities supports & is supported by the Medicine of showing up in our authentic Self.
GEMINI Air fans the Fires of MARS – JUPITER in ARIES
We can’t ignore them – and want to work WITH them:
Quite a conglomeration in the ARIES Warrior sign these days (was culminating Wed / Thu last week), and concentrating with the conjunction of MARS (freshly in AR since May 24) & JUPITER, exact today May 29. Every 2 years, MARS catches up with JUPITER, but only every 13 years in the Martian sign ARIES.
Big boost of energy – which might seem belligerent / hostile.
MARS the Warrior Archetype can represent ego assertion, as well as vital energy that gets us going.
JUPITER is like a magnifying glass, helping us understand, seeing the bigger picture – and outgrowing a situation / condition.
How about: Understanding what makes war possible and sustains it (how about polarization / division…) – to outgrow it.
GEMINI is the Alchemist of dualities – and the New Moon blesses New Alchemy.
MARS – JUPITER in ARIES bring the incentive / initiation:

Hubble: Saturn Sequence
Good Ole’ SATURN goes retro.
The time of year has come, where SATURN – having reached the furthest point of the Zodiac – takes a U-turn to go retro for 4 1/2 months. June 4 – Oct 22, this year.
Time to disengage from the ‘old regime’ of inner ancestral / social / societal disempowering conditioning & imprints, and find authority from within.
Consulting with clients born under SATURN retro (should be about 1/3 of us, since SATURN is retro 1/3 of the year) their commonality seems to be: The inclination to turn ‘issues’ with outer authorities (which could have started with parents and teachers…), rules, laws, and structures, into finding authority & responsibility from within.
Late AQ where SATURN is now (last 10 degrees) has a GEM(!) undertone. What helps actualize this Saturnian Alchemy is asking good questions, listening, learning, starting a conversation, going into dialogue, and inquiring deeply. No way going back into the historic rabbit hole… which could to a large degree relate to the inner dialogue and mindscape.
Says also MERCURY retro / stat. end of TAU – squaring with SATURN stat. end of AQas both change directions (MERCURY goes direct on June 3, while SATURN goes retro on June 4). Not an exact square but close and effective since both Planets are stationary.
Through unburdening ourselves from the shackles & restrictions of the past (e.g., social / societal / group associations that we might have been unconsciously loyal to, and we need to be acknowledged for), we naturally find our freedomand ‘breathing space’. What is true Freedom from within?

For this symbol, I kept the original ‘default’ male gender (I usually neutralize the language used in 1973), since the trans-piercing, penetrating energy is so primal masculine. Here applied to the ego-mind (GEM / MERCURY retro) i.o.w. a mind focused on competition & conquest. SO prevalent in our Zeitgeist & society (AQ – where SATURN goes retro, asking us: whom / what do you give authority & judgment over you to?!).
Balance is much needed, by bringing in more feminine energy.
And beyond yin-yang Alchemy, being mindful of when / how we are the bow, the arrow, or even the archer?!
May the GEM NM lead us to new Beginnings for Alchemy that unifies!

SPRING is already in full bloom here on the Pacific NW, as VENUS enters TAU today May 28! VENUS is a tad late this year… since She’s ‘behind’ the SUN in the Zodiac (TAU season ended on May 20).
Until Oct 22, 2022 – the ‘Tipping Point’ day (from LI to SCO) when She passes the SUN, the day before both of them enter SCO, plus the day when SATURN turns direct. What a time for important choices that will be!
But for NOW:
Ahhhh – VENUS in her home domain of TAURUS!
VENUS’s entry into TAU has been worth waiting for, and comes as a sighhh of relief. After sooo much fierce & feisty ARIES energy, esp. this week (MOON, VENUS, MARS, JUPITER, and CHIRON!)

The intense square from VENUS end of ARIES with PLUTO retro end of CAP (exact on May 26) constituted Her grand finale in AR this year.
Which could have evoked stressful conflicts between what’s old and established, that’s not working anymore & revealing its (esp. controlling) shadow) – and up for transformation, and what’s new & fresh & alive, NOW. Also a draw to be in self-loving authenticity (VENUS in AR), show up for oneself in this acute situation – and face powers-in-charge.
Reminds me of the Fearless Girl who temporarily (2017 – 18) ‘showed up’ facing the charging Wall St. Bull.
VENUS, at the end of ARIES – while MARS just entered ARIES (on May 24), joining a whole group of ‘Super Hero’ Archetypes in AR – approached the cusp to TAU which I call ‘Settling Point’ – a.k.a. ‘Stand Your Ground’ energy. No wonder, if fiercely showing up and resistance to Powers-that-be (no more) has come up for you.
Rather than getting sucked into the ‘Old Empire’ and its Power Game modus though, did you let the Inner CAP Sage and the Fierce ARIES Feminine join forces, to show where the Evolution goes, and lead on with Love?
Money / value / self esteem / relationship / power issues? Could have easily been ‘on the plate’ recently too.
Ever so intensely played out in the Johnny Depp – Amber Heard trial over the last weeks – an epic drama. The build-up to VENUS square PLUTO in CAP (ruled by SATURN – now in AQ) has shown: After all those experiences about old Power structures & systems, blockages, obstacles, control, it’s Time to lead on with fierce Love, starting with Self Love.
The ‘Old Empire Expires’. Yes, old societal structures, esp. hierarchical, controlling ones are dying / changing – while still trying to exert their power extra strongly & extremely (PLUTO). Yet, they’re outdated and coming to an end. We’re called to no more buy into fear based externalized authority but rely on own our intrinsic authority – together (SATURN in AQ), as we see the bigger picture & context of what’s going on in those systems, outgrow them, and start a-new (JUPITER now also freshly in AR).
We’re not being defined / confined by these ‘old matrixes’ with their ‘shoulds’, expectations, obligations, rules, restrictions, judgment, ‘do it the hard way’ to get approval / reward / ‘love’.
We’re not into a repetition of old stories (esp. based on the PISCES Age co-dependency of victim – perpetrator – saviour / martyr).
We show up with fierce intrinsic Love that resides unconditionally within, radiates & attracts from the inside-out (VENUS in ARIES).
Life is NOW.

This energy brings shake-ups & wake-ups that can be unsettling for the body, for anything we value, for the economy, and for Planet Earth. What a PISCEAN phase it’s been, since end of Feb / March (with the Sun, Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter, and Neptune)!
Hopefully you could surf the waves of Oneness, and surrender in the letting go / rolling-out‘grand finale’ in PISCES, as MARS passed NEPTUNE, on May 17. Such a ‘wash-up & wash-out’, right after the SuperMoon / Wesak Moon / TLE in SCO – TAU on May 15 / 16… Also lots of overwhelm esp. via the media, met with passivity or escapism, and the alike.

This PI-to-ARIES pattern is holographic for the whole year 2022, where esp. Jan – May, and again Oct – Dec several Planets are lined up on that cusp which I call the ‘Emergence Point’. A field of endings of old, outlived / released energies leading to fresh new beginnings. Just as Winter is being ‘washed out’, giving way to Spring budding.
The PI – ARIES dynamic – so strong in 2022 – can be also experienced as a survival energy – the battle for life (instead of perishing), showing up in various ways now, incl. even Mass Extinction / survival of species on Planet Earth, and surviving wars on all levels.
Why do we fight / what in us battles?
The MARS Archetype represents the life force asserting itself. Which shows up in different expressions in the Zodiac ‘colour’ / mode it appears in a personal or event chart – in its most ‘pure’ and raw version in ARIES. MARS the Warrior having just entered its natural ARIES expression gives the pre-existing ARIES ‘formation’ (JUPITER, CHIRON, and VENUS) a powerful boost, and brings out the assertive & combative side of ARIES even more.

What can the Martian RAMification activation bring?
New vitality and Spring-like energy is emerging & arising – it all starts HERE! If you’ve been sick and weakened during the MARS in PI phase (mid-Apr – end of May), you get a boost of energy, esp. if you have SUN, MOON, Nodes, AC or Planets in ARIES. MARS is natural in its ARIES domain, as a survivor, an ‘energizer bunny’, and comes to life when battling the elements.
Fast actions and reactions.
People can get quite angry and upset (esp. with MARS squaring LILITH & the MOON on June 1) – no more PISCEAN tolerating. It can be in general a fired-up and confrontational period, with MARS in ARIES. Better to channel the energy into action, and find healthy outlets.

On June 27 (day before the CAN NM), MARS end of ARIES also forms a sextile with SATURN retro end of AQ. Which is supportive for social activism that’s FOR rather than against, showing us where future oriented actions and possibilities for responsible collaboration lay. It starts with finding true authority within.

Also in ARIES – and often ignored (which is tragically-fittingly aligned with Her Archetype) – and met by MARS on June 28 (day of the CAN NM!):ERIS.
She’s the most massive and second-largest ‘dwarf planet’ known in the Solar System, and was given this astronomical status in 2006 (originally named ‘Planet X’ / ‘Xena’). This happened in the process when PLUTO was demoted as a Planet – while in late SAG, the Galactic Centre(!).
Since ERIS has almost the same diameter as PLUTO, and size matters for astronomical classifications, if PLUTO had retained its Planet status, ERIS and CERES had to be reclassified as Planets as well, which the astronomical community / consciousness wasn’t up for.
The Planetary Archetype PLUTO is well & alive (Archetypes aren’t subject to demotion), and in the meantime seen in a new light through the New Horizons space mission cameras, with first close-ups from Pluto in 2015.
Regardless of her astronomical ‘status’, ERIS came into collective consciousness in those years. ERIS has a highly elliptical orbit that takes her 558 years around the SUN – more than twice as long as far-out PLUTO (248 years). She’s been in ARIES for a super long time, since 1922, until 2040 –for the entire life time of most humans alive. Even if you have ‘nothing in ARIES’ you do: ERIS. Who / what / which Archetype actually is ERIS, and how does She show up now personally and societally? The rather unevolved role of the ERIS Archetype – the Greek goddess of discord & strife – seeds disruption and separation, is vengeful and confrontational.
We’ve seen a LOT of polarization and discord in Humanity lately (triggered through the Corona Crisis – hmm, the ‘Coronation’ theme is very symbolic for the ERIS Archetype too – don’t give sovereignty away!) as the massive 2020 Stellium of the Titans, JUPITER – PLUTO – SATURN end of CAP moved into square with ERIS – who is presently (these years)
Why all that discord & strive? Because she’s not welcome at the table / not invited to the ‘ceremony’. So much conflict nowadays, as the socio-political Plutocratic (literally: rulership of the wealthy) 1% elite / supremacy (CAP shadow) is playing their exclusive ‘game’ in the old and dying hierarchical top-down world, at the expense / exclusion of ‘regular people’ and esp: minorities who feel left out of the ‘democratic’ decision making process.
Prime examples of large scale collective seeding of discord and separation, via the media / social media, with their deceptive / programming potential and via ‘disruptive technology’ which can be abused in so many ways… The process started to kick in big time when URANUS in late ARIES met ERIS – 2016 / 17 – only every about 85 years.

Mythological ERIS is the sister of MARS / ARES.
In Greek Mythology, “She stirs up jealousy and envy to cause fighting and anger among men. At the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, all the Gods were invited, with the exception of Eris, and, enraged at her exclusion, she spitefully caused a quarrel among the Goddesses that led to the Trojan War.”
Here’s where ERIS can evolve, according to Doug Walker in this excellent ERIS intro article: “If the ERIS Archetype is developed fully, humanity may never have to experience war again. The feminine ERIS will balance the aggression of MARS. A well developed ERIS Archetype could banish all war. The ancient prophesy of swords turned into plowshares could be realized.”
ERIS’s Archetype shows also how ‘small things’ can lead to major discord / conflicts.
May CHIRON now in ARIES, approaching ERIS (building up to be exact in 2025), help with healing what makes war possible!
Not only will MARS meet ERIS on June 28 – but also (next to ERIS) square PLUTO retro, on July 1.
What an intense combo, right on Canada Day and just before Independence Day. It also happens in the build-up before the U.S. mid-term Elections on Nov 8 (day of the TLE in TAU – SCO!).…while the U.S. have (in 2021 / 22) their 1st PLUTO Return in history – PLUTO comes back to the position where it was in 1776: At 27°33′ CAP.
Full circle of Power – and Soul – of the United(?) States. Looks like an epic challenge of Heroes, Discordians, and ‘Titans’ / Tyrants, battling Oligarchy (rulership of the few) / Plutocracy (rulership of the wealthy). Likely reflected in societal conflicts, flaring up at that time.

Eclipses & the Lunar Nodes – plus: URANian Involvement
We’re at the height of the 1st Eclipse season of 2022. This year’s first pair of Spring Eclipses (they always come in pairs) started with the pre-Beltane PSE in TAU with URANUS, on Apr 30, followed by the TLE in SCO – TAU on May 15 / 16. The Fall Eclipse season will peak on Oct 25 (PSE in SCO) / Nov 8 (TLE in TAU – SCO).
This Apr / May Eclipse season is the first one since the Lunar Nodes moved into SCO (South Node) – TAU (North Node), on Dec 23, 2021 [and yes, the Nodes intimately link with Eclipses]. A Nodal / Eclipse / karmic / evolutionary dynamic that extends until July 13, 2023. Big Time Purge. Back to Nature & to our Senses. EmBodying Freedom.
Not only do the Eclipses bring out these themes that are SO on now, for evolution (rather than devolution), but also (can’t miss it) for revolution, viaURANUS in TAU.

What a time it’s been, since it all changed…
…2 years ago when public & social, and physically close to one another turned into private, fearful / guarded, and distant…! SATURN entered AQ for the 1st time end of March 2020 (fully in Dec 2020, together with JUPITER). The Ringed One forms a T-square to the ecliptic FM from end of AQ, to TAU – SCO.
Mentally-emotionally, it’s been intense for most of us, in these two years (imagine if that time frame had been pronounced / announced beforehand!): Staying put and waiting (TAU), while processing (SCO / PLUTO) feelings of fear, sadness, loneliness, grief, anger, powerlessness that had accumulated, and needs for freedom (URANUS in TAU)…
So much emotional intensity is again UP these days – culminating with the SCO – TAU SuperMoon TLE on Sun / MoOnday May 15 / 16.
The tides are extra high NOW – in the oceans as in our emotions, with this SuperMoon Eclipse in SCO – TAU. And spiritually, with a Buddha Moon… Things come to a culmination and to fruition (think: Full Moon – Harvest Moon, Full Birthing Belly), to be transformed and released.
As restrictions, rules & public / social protocols (SATURN in AQ) are still affecting many people, in reflection / correspondingly, shadow (SCO) is coming up too, from deeper sediments of institutionalized structures, from humanity’s historic conditioning, and from our own depth (PLUTO end of / last full year in CAP – ruled by SATURN).
YES, the evolutionary phenomenon of PLUTO in CAP (until 2023-24) is still working itself through the structures of established ’empires’, as through our psyche, and deeper historic / ancestral processing.
Why is PLUTO relevant NOW?
PLUTO rules SCO – the energy of the TLE SuperMoon. The FM energy can find an outlet via PLUTO, and vice versa.
And: PLUTO in CAP turned from direct-forward from Earth perspective to retro on Apr 29, hence has been mid-Apr to mid-May stationary – calling us:

SATURN in AQ shows us has us take a good look at the system, and supports detachment (quite the contrast to SCO intensity).
It was fascinating to find out: J. Depp and A. Heard whose public trial ‘display of dispute’ is getting so much attention these weeks have in their composite chart the exact same (to the degree!) SUN – MOON polarity as the TLE while J. Depp has his 2nd SATURN return in AQ this year.
Their controversy triggers the Zeitgeist (AQ), and compellingly pulls one in (SCO). Why? On the obvious level, because the media love dishing up everything sensational, dramatic and intense. Yet also because there seems to be a catalytic effect. They both, as well as witnesses, experts, lawyers, and judge, play archetypal roles. A ‘karmic contract’ between J. and A., and perhaps for many of us personally, might come to fruition with this TLE.
Judge and audience alike are called to observe. Can we do that dispassionately, a la SATURN in AQ?

Wesak Moon of the Buddha

The Full Moon in May traditionally marks the Wesak Moon in Buddhist cultures, which falls this year on May 16, as the TLE – quite rare. Only every 9 years does the Scorpionic Wesak Moon show up as a Lunar Eclipse (alternating as ‘Seed Eclipse’ and ‘Release Eclipse’ – as this time), and only seldom as a Total Lunar Eclipse.
The Wesak Moon is celebrated by the Buddhist World Sangha (community), honouring the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Siddhartha, the Buddha, who walked the Earth more than 2500 years ago, and set an example for the Living Buddha in all of us.
In my understanding, the SCO MOON – TAU SUN polarity that aligns astrologically with the Wesak Moon themes also connects with the essence of Buddhist teachings.
So many provoking and out-of-control situation are up… and the deep emotions they evoke can pull us into a pain-body loop. Staying with what-IS, being calm (TAU) and conscious (SUN), and holding space for what’s going on deeply-emotionally (MOON) can bring us to the core (SCO) of the matter (TAU), and is being transformed (SCO) in this cauldron.
Sitting in the Buddha Heart Hub, in the Wheel of Life, saves the day and is the way / the pathless path.
PLUTO, the ruler of SCO, ‘undertaker’ or rather: archaeologist to unearth our core essence & Soul Power, supports us in this.
PLUTO now end of CAP (with VIRGO undertone) prescribes: Simplicity and integrity carry us through, and bring us to our unshakable centre. Of course, it takes patience (TAU), practice (VIR) and a deep desire for change (SCO) – yet: without attachment.
An essential question in Buddhist teachings: Why do we humans suffer, or are we even ‘just’ dissatisfied / discontent (‘dukkha’) in life?
It’s simple and obvious – yet still, over and over revolutionary to see it this way (why do we forget?!): Because of our attachments to what we desire, and their frustration – not getting what we want, and not being able (or: willing!) to get rid of the unwanted and painful. Which is… very TAU – SCO!
Whoaaa – has that ever been intensely playing out in these times!
What a contrast! Taurean Life-as-Spring, enjoyment, physical / material pleasure, eating, embodying, gaining, gathering, growing, having… And Scorpionic pain, death, loss, grief and the whole spectrum of emotional depth – which, if it doesn’t crush us, can bring us to the essence of where real Power within sits, and change us on our evolutionary path, personally & collectively.
What does the Buddha say to this essential polarity in life?
There’s a difference between physical / emotional pain, and the human suffering coming from it. Suffering – even though it may feel so appropriate and legit – has to do with the attachment (which comes up in the ‘sticky’ fixed signs TAU – SCO, and AQ via SATURN) to the desire for what we want, and to the desire of getting rid of the unwanted and painful.
The Buddhists would suggest two ‘ways out’ of suffering:
To be aware that nothing really lasts forever, everything that has manifested is impermanent. This world of phenomena is in constant flux and change (JUPITER – NEPTUNE in PI this year show us a lot about this too…) – we better get used to it, and become free from wanting it ‘our way’, with that realization.
To walk the ‘Middle Path’, a.k.a. to practice the Noble 8-fold Path (right speech, right livelihood, right action, etc.) whichbrings intrinsic happiness.
Awakening, and emBodying Freedom(URANUS, now also in TAU, 2018/19 – 2026 stirs it up!) is buddha-ful. Awakener URANUS is mega activated by the SUN in the Full Moon (the alignment was activated by the TAU NM / PSE on Apr 30, and exact on May 5)! Bright – clear – conscious – liberated – alive energyis available, on the other side of the SCO process…
May the season of the Buddha’s Wesak Moon, this year with a TLE, bring golden opportunities ‘in the dark’, for realization & practice that set us FREE!

MARS in PI (Apr 14 – May 24) meets / passes NEPTUNE, on May 17. This is the central connection point of MARS in its current PI immersion – (which has been building up in May)… While it can seem energetically very low, passive, fluctuating, it’s also a time to relax, adapt, surrender, be unattached, ‘roll with things’ – surf what-IS / let go what’s not conducive…BE the Spiritual Warrior. MARS will move into AR on May 24, and meet JUPITER there on May 29 – a whole different ball game.
The last two effects (MARS & MERCURY) are so supportive of the Wesak Moon – and vice versa.
TAURUS Themes are strong now
Fixed, earthy TAURUS (ruled by VENUS)is all about embodiment, enjoyment of Life-on-Earth, sensuality, food, assimilation, and gathering value. A substance building energy.
Immersed in the realm of TAURUS, like in the full bloom of Spring, we celebrate the physical senses, comfort & pleasure, everything that creates security and grounding, and grows over time. Taurean energy takes roots, builds, cultivates, and conserves, like a gardener, farmer, and good custodian of the Earth. TAU likes to attract what’s pleasant, to experience it via the senses, to eat, assimilate, gather & accumulate, to settle and to claim ownership & territory. TAU slows down, after the fast and furious ARIES energy, and favours predictability and patience; therefore habits and routines are formed.
The Taurean orientation is very life affirming, yet can obviously lead to attachment to the known and comfortable, to the material & worldly plane in general, and to physical satisfaction, yet also hoarding, and greed. TAU has a strong resistance to change and to pain.
Presently, there’s a LOT going on in TAURUS, via: URANUS (since 2019), the North Node (since Dec 23, 2021), the SUN (seasonally, until May 20), soon MERCURY retro-to-direct (May 22 – June 13), and also soon VENUS (May 28 – June 22). What a TAUREAN energy field – polarized by the SCO SuperMoon!
Being calm, conscious, and creative – rather than just complacent & acquiescent, standing our ground & communicating common sense (without getting stubborn and attached to a mind-set) is a theme of SUN / MERCURY retro – soon back in TAU. No point getting stuck (TAU) in judgment / fear (SATURN in AQ squaring TAU), or getting used to ‘new normed habits’ or new ‘normed normalized AI’ / transhumanism (SATURN in AQ). We Humans are organic, nature-ALL Earth Beings (TAU).

SCO (ruled by PLUTO) carries Transformation Medicine
The fixed deep water (picture a lake or pond) sign SCO,in contrast to the ‘above ground’ Taurean world takes us to emotionally intense, ‘ugly’, uncomfortable, and painful places where the ‘muck’, hidden, and often covered or repressed emotional material sits.
Just as the leaves rot and go under the earth in late Oct – late Nov, the Scorpionic energy takes us to the ‘grand mystery’ of the intangible, and to deeply affecting processes that have nowhere to go but down & through, for the alchemical work to be performed.
SCO penetrates the underground / underworld / underbelly, which can be a painful process (TAU – SCO also represent the pleasure – pain, and life – death axis). This is where deep ‘down under’ transformational ‘digestion’ of what’s already dead needs to happen, be purged, and eliminated.
Our very ‘human humus’ and shadow can’t be just ‘gotten rid of,’ or ‘hidden away’. It’s here to be fully processed, so that it becomes a composting ‘fertilizer’ for renewal – the Alchemy of Life.
SCORPIO is for the MOON the most ‘challenging’ sign. While the MOON is considered ‘exalted’ in TAU, it’s trad. ‘in fall’ in SCO – here’s why: The MOON represents emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and our needs and habits which by nature long for nourishment and sustenance.

TAURUS is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery & assimilation – intake through feeding & reliable presence… whereas SCOrepresents necessary detoxifying elimination, often through painful processes. That’s not what our Lunar side (representing also our Inner Child) is most comfortable with, to put it mildly.
Under a SCO MOON (whether we’re born with it, have it by astrological Progression for 2½ years every 29 years, or whether the MOON in SCO for 2½ days per month affects us), we’re instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge what’s toxic & outlived, what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free, in a deeper sense.
The process calls us to go into the ‘mouth of the monster’ and through its bowels even, while our head and ego might severely protest and resist. A SCO MOON experience can lead us to thedeepest abyss of our inner worlds, yet is an opportunity to take us through it, and be regenerated and transformed through the process.
Not ‘comfortable’ or ‘easy’ but so spiritually rewarding, and blessed by the Wesak Moon.

As you see in the chart, the SCO MOON is not only in opposition to URANUS / NN / SUN in TAU / MERCURY retro on the cusp to GEM. Both sides, the Solar team and the Lunar duo, also form an exact T-square with SATURN at the end of AQ.

That fixed (the most challenging) T-square from the Full Moon to SATURN end of AQ shows: So much tension has built up, stored / ‘successfully’ controlled / repressed, yet comes out of psychological abysses, primed to find release.
SATURN in AQ has the ‘trail’ of PLUTO in its ruled sign CAP ‘behind’ it: Epochal revelation of shadows, and transformation of hierarchical / ‘Old Empire’ style leadership and societal structures. Juxtaposition of working wisely & respectfully, according to Natural Law, with cycles of Nature and Mother Earth vs. waste of time & resources, and abuse / exploitation on all levels.
‘Let the Old Empire Expire’… … as I call the theme that’s been concentrated these years, since 2019 (with SATURN-PLUTO-SN close together in CAP, culminated in 2020 with the SATURN–PLUTO conj., and triple conj. of JUPITER-PLUTO, and still processing until 2023/4, as long as PLUTO is still in CAP).
What’s your ‘old regime’ (as in: power / control themes) you’ve been part of / you’ve internalized, that’s expiring / you leave behind now? An opportunity (if not necessity) to take a good look, and welcome a purge, with the TLE in SCO – ruled by PLUTO.
And societally speaking, these crises that are now showing up, in layered fashion, are a growth opportunity through massive purging of the Old and corrupt models, and rebuilding from Integrity.
The Buddhist Wesak Moon practice too, calls for “sitting with, & holding as much spiritual energy as possible”, and “letting the Buddha bless the Sangha / spiritual community”.
A golden opportunity.
JUPITER, having just entered AR where VENUS & CHIRON unite on the Eclipse day, in combination with MERCURY retro in GEM: Spontaneously-lovingly showing up, with our authentic, direct, uncorrupted, child-like purity ‘Medicine’ (CHIRON in AR), with our genuine curiosity, being on a learning quest, asking good questions, and doing spiritual inquiryhelps us with following the trail into the unknown, and coming to deeper layers / the heart of the matter (SCO MOON).
Rather than being lost in the dark (late SCO has a PI undertone), getting a sense of the deep essential ground of Being, and living powerfully from there.
The SuperMoon TLE in SCO can thus be an alchemical agent, creating an entirely new way of Being ‘in it’ / with ‘it all’. The crisis can be a Turning Point.

What an amazing juxtaposition!
Diving in, to take a deeper look, and under-standing the underlying principles of foundational structures of life, in society, various systems, biology… as a whole. That’s where the SCO MOON takes us into undercurrents, backgrounds etc. that help us with emotional purging of our involvement, reactions, and attachment, and with seeing the situation (also via SAG following late SCO) in a deeper & vaster way.
And (from the TAU symbol’s perspective) to find a grounding pad that gives a sense of physical belonging to / having a place in a whole, and sit in a place of freedom.

KEYNOTE: The capacity to develop the rational and fully conscious aspect of the mind ahead of normal evolution
What seems implied is a kind of mutation, and more specifically the special development of whatever is symbolized by the “right side” of the organism.
Here, however, the spiritual body (the butterfly) is what the image represents. A strong process of conscious individualization is suggested, perhaps at the expense of the instinctual-emotional aspect of the personality (its ‘left side’).
This last symbol fittingly concludes this sixty-fifth sequence, which began with ‘A Disappointed Woman’. The five-fold set deals with the management of human energies at the emotional level; here management means overcoming — this, on the basis of negative or ego-challenging experiences.

Such an important addition to theTLE in SCO. SATURN in AQ is the master of dispassionate, detached witnessing, and hence supports the transformation of ego / attachment based emotional intensity– into the liberated (apropos URANUS) spiritual / light body.

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the peaceful Buddha floating on a (Taurean) Lotus flower that blossoms so purely & beautifully while rooted in the (Scorpionic) mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality, rooted in real-life human suffering, and evoking compassion.
Where do your swampy roots show up, these days?
Can you ‘sit’ with it all, open to the light of consciousness?
How can you dwell in the Buddha hub of calm – within enjoyment and pain?
Hold (fixed energy of SCO – TAU) as much spiritual energy as possible. And allow yourself to be held by it.
The Wesak Full Moon is a magnificent divine and meditative moment-in-time, when transformation (SCO) can be anchored (TAU).
Our attachment to desires and longing for what we want and don’t have, or ‘even’ to pain / suffering / complaining / to feeding those ‘hungry ghosts’ (TAU – SCO) that show up in obvious or subtle personal and collective / cultural addictions and compulsions (more consumption, information, work, entertainment, F.O.M.O., nothing’s ever enough, being pulled into the dark…) can be really UP and fully-ON in these times.
Can you put these manifestationsof attachments into the bonfire of the Soul (SCO) so that the deep Alchemy can do its job?! Natural empowerment via intrinsic Soul connection comes from there. Supported by PLUTO having turned from direct-forward to retro on Apr 29: Finding Power within, and via intrinsic transformation.
Truth on all levels is being revealed through the process. Esp. as the MOON will move from SCO over the ‘Phoenix Point’ into SAG, on May 16 (exact at 4:50 am PDT). The days after the Wesak Moon are considered ‘Days of Distribution’ of the Buddha Blessings – very apropos SAG MOON also.
The YIN-YANG is a perfect symbol for balancing the Yin / Lunar and Yang / Solar influences in us, under each Full Moon, esp. under this astrologically potent (SCO – TAU TLE) Wesak Moon.
As above so below and within…. We ARE the field, and the catalysts for evolution & liberation…
In the light of the Wesak Moon….
…it’s good to sit a la TAU with what’s here-now, enJoy Life with all its blossoming expressions – without getting attached. As the smiling Buddha would.
URANUS, now in TAURUS – and super activated by the SUN & NN – brings: The wake-up call to EmBody unconditional Freedom.
How can we be free from what’s been stifling & stuck, from old fears that have proven redundant (many do), and the alike. And / or we might be drawn to new freedom for…
Real Freedom is unconditional Freedom. Or, as the spiritual teacher J. Krishnamurti (his Taurean human birthday was on May 12) would point out brilliantly: It’s about Freedom without an opposite (as in: from / for), since otherwise it pretends to be Freedom but isn’t the real deal. Fake Freedom so-to-say.
Similarly, again quoting K., and inquiring myself: What is Love that has no opposite?
That takes us full circle. A good place to hand it over to the Wesak Moon, and Her infusion…

Big News of the Month (well, what an ecliptic month of May!), dear Astro Friends: JUPITER just entered ARIES!
The first time since 2010 / 11 – which was a rather short phase of 7 1/2 months total (June 6 – Sept 10, 2010 & Jan 22 – June 4, 2011). Yep, ARIES can be short & spicy.
Remember any events / experiences of that time? With JUPITER re-activating the ‘scene’ (and in your chart the ARIES House / Planets – see below), something comes full circle – ideally to understand and grow from / outgrow it.
And, even more so, a whole new ‘ball game’, as JUPITER started a new Zodiac cycle?! YES – and some more patience might be needed, as JUPITER is in this first phase just ‘trying on’ early ARIES this Spring to Fall, before fully entering ARIES on Dec 20, the day before Winter Solstice!

2020 was a very CAP (SATURN – PLUTO – JUPITER). All about government, major endeavours & impacts, rules, restrictions, fear.
2021 was so AQ (SATURN & JUPITER, plus SATURN in AQ triple-squaring URANUS (ruler of AQ) in TAU. Systems, science, humanity, community, social environment, our shared future.
2022 is very PISCEAN –, compliments JUPITER – having united with NEPTUNE – 1st time since 1856 – in transition to ARIES. A big Unifying Wave, leading to New Beginnings. The Water TIGERyear 2022 adds to the vibe, obviously…

2022 is astrologically very transitional
PISCES – ARIES Transition vibes are ON this year for sure, esp. in this Springseason (March – May), via SUN, MOON, MERCURY, nowadays also VENUS, and MARS…. You can see it also in the ‘Birth Chart’ of JUPITER’s 1st ARIES entry – posted & discussed below.
All year2022, JUPITER dances on the PI – AR – PI – AR cusp, and crosses it 3 times, on May 10 (1st ARIES entry), Oct 27 (back into late PI), and Dec 20 (full entry into AR where it’ll be until May 16, 2023).
PI to AR is not only a transition from one Zodiac sign to another, but from Winter to Spring energy! JUPITER – and all these other current planetary energies )see chart below) wrap around the Spring Equinox point.
A big shift indeed, from late PI (where the conjunction of JUPITER & NEPTUNE happened on Apr 12) with a doubly-PI vibe, to early AR with double ARIES energy! From: ‘It’s All coming together’ & being washed out & released’, to: All is fresh & NEW!
I call the PI – AR cusp also Emergence Point. What’s new and emerging?!! ARIES is fierce & sharp energy – we can’t miss it. And a lot (JUPITER) can happen fast (ARIES).
Early ARIES where JUPITER will hover this year has an extra ARIES undertone, and is ruled by MARS… All about Newness, Courage, Getting the Ball Rolling, Trying Things out, Seeing Things with Fresh Eyes – and their Opportunities & Gifts!

1st Phase ofJUPITER in ARIES: Spring to Fall 2022 (May 10 – Oct 27)

This first JUPITER in ARIES phase strikingly extends from the Spring Eclipse season (started on May 10, between PSE in TAU on Apr 30 and TLE in SCO – TAU on May 15) and Fall Eclipse season (JUPITER temporarily retreats from ARIES on Oct 27, between PSE in SCO on Oct 25 and TLE in TAU – SCO on Nov 8)!
We’re getting in these 5 1/2 months a preview (up to 8°43′ ARIES – check out the Sabian Symbol for that turnaround degree below!) of JUPITER in ARIES this year. Boosted right at the onset by VENUS now in ARIES (until May 28), MARS entering ARIES on May 24 – meeting JUPITER on May 29! – and of course, CHIRON now in mid-ARIES (2019 – 2027) – to be met by JUPITER on March 12, 2023.
Speaking of March 2023, it will be a super crucial month:
SATURN will (fully) enter PISCES (March 8)
JUPITER – CHIRON conj. in mid-ARIES (March 12)
PLUTO enters for the 1st time AQ(!), on March 24 – June 11, then fully on Jan 21, 2024 (SUN / PLUTO conj.)
With JUPITER now on the ARIES side of the ‘Emergence Point’ we’re getting lots of opportunities to better understand, see revealed, experience, grow from, and even outgrow a cuspy ‘spectrum’ of:
Chaos (PI) leading to emergency (AR)
Multi-layered, inter-connected & convoluted dynamics (PI) lead to war (AR)
Survivor energy (old trauma / new experiences)
Themes of the old & ending collectivity oriented PISCES Age amplified & revealed, leading to more individuality (AR) – or: isolation
So much confusion / chaos / craziness / deception / media inundation (PI) – and the understanding / outgrowing (JUPITER) thereof leads to coming out of the ‘dream spell’, in presence with what IS.

‘Birth Chart’ of JUPITER in ARIES
The entry point was exactly on May 10 at 4:33 pm PDT.
As you see – lots of energy (5 Planets MARS – NEPTUNE – JUPITER – VENUS – CHIRON) all in the late PI to mid-AR field, and JUPITER on the cusp in the centre of them… It’s also the overall centre of (lopsided, imbalanced) energy of Planets between late CAP (PLUTO) to early CAN (LILITH). Big time transition vibes. We’re on the brink of a New World, New Spring, New Life.
The Key: Come out of your perhaps inundated, overwhelmed, escapist, passive PISCEAN mode, and step into action! One Baby Step at a time. Boosted by MARS which also enters its own sign of ARIES on May 24, and activates / passes JUPITER on May 29, eve of the GEM New Moon (May 30).
The trend also goes towards TAU, with URANUS / SUN / NN, MERCURY going back into TAU on May 22, and VENUS entering Her own sign on May 28. The TAU effect will be super strong end of July / early Aug (July 27 – Aug 1 to be precise), when MARS / URANUS / NN align in TAU, cat-alyzed by the LEO NM on July 28). All about being the Warriors of emBodying Freedom & our intrinsic values, and anchoring the Light on the Earth. JUPITER in MARS’s sign ARIES will contribute to this effect, as it stations to go retro – on July 28 – day of the LEO NM!
Sooo, let’s take a look at the
Sabian Symbol for JUPITER’s Station (direct to retro) in early AR on July 28
As mentioned, JUPITER starts its retro journey from the farthest degree it’ll reach this year (8°43′ AR) on July 28 – just 2 1/2 hrs after the LEO New Moon. Let’s take 9° since JUPITER hangs out stationary between 8 – 9° AR early July to mid-Aug(!):

“Become as young children again….” – also, to see things with fresh eyes, and the undivided wholeness of our original Nature. Goes so well also with the open (not exact but lingering) square of LILITH now in CANCER with JUPITER in early ARIES (in June).
JUPITER’s Activation by other Cosmic Players
Here are the specific astrological alignments for JUPITER, in its initial phase in ARIES 2022, until end of Oct:
The JUPITER in AR momentum gets going on May 19.
In this 1st phase, it’s all about activations from fast moving Planets TO JUPITER (no aspect from JUPITER TO the Nodes, SATURN, URANUS, NEPTUNE, or PLUTO – these are all reserved for 2023…).
The CANCER New Moon with LILITH on June 28 stands out – as it squares JUPITER.
June altogether represents a strong LILITH – JUPITER tension.
A lot comes to fruition with the ARIES – LIBRA Full Moon (with JUPITER retro & CHIRON), on Oct 9.
Important choices seem to come up, under the triple opp. of MERCURY before, during, and after its retro phase in LIBRA, opp. JUPITER retro in AR (Sept 2, 18, and Oct 12).

No way! I’d rather say (and so does the South Node since Dec 23 in SCO – activating the Total Lunar Eclipse on May 15, and North Node in VENUS ruled TAU): It’s time to disengage from getting hooked & spooked by disempowering stuff, and to enjoy Nature & honour Mother Earth!

Did you know that the Norse Goddess Freyagave Friday its name? She is the equivalent of VENUS / Aphrodite, goddess of beauty, attraction, erotic pleasures, and art.
The Romans called the 6th day of the week ‘De Veneris’ (belonging to VENUS) which became Venerdi in Italian, Viernes in Spanish, and Vendredi in French.

Uhh, there are a lot of scary stories around the number 13…
The sacred number 13 may have been purposely hijacked vilified by the founders of patriarchal religions in the early days of Western civilization because it represented femininity.

Thirteen is said to have been revered in prehistoric goddess-worshiping cultures because it corresponded to the number of lunar (menstrual) cycles in a year (13 x 28 = 364 days).
Zodiac years have 12 – 13 New Moons and / or Full Moons.
As the solar calendar triumphed over the lunar with the rise of male-dominated civilization, so did the “perfect” number 12 over the “imperfect” number 13.
Clearly, the association of 13 with the feminine and lunar cycle is the lunar side of Friday the 13th.
Friday the 13th is about Celebrating the Divine Feminine – via VENUS and the MOON
Those who sowed the seeds of superstition must have been very afraid of the power of the Feminine…
This year, we even have the pre-Full MOON (TLE!) in LIBRA (ruled by VENUS) on Fri May 13. And it’s TAU season, also ruled by VENUS! Can it get more Friday the 13th in its original sense than that?

About time for another round of ‘good Trickster Medicine’.
MERCURY has been slowing down its speed from Earth perspective, for its immanent retro round / loop, this time from early GEMINI (up to 5°) back over the cusp to late TAU (back to 26°) – where the Messenger of the Gods will fly back & forth, and cross-pollinate for an extended time.
Yep, MERCURY is this year extensively in TAU, (Apr 10 – 29, and May 22 – June 13) as well as in GEM (Apr 29 – May 22, and June 13 – July 4), due to its upcoming retro phase in both energy fields (May 10 – June 3).

Literally on May 3, I was prompted to check out something ‘just out of curiosity’ – and it led to a beautiful opportunity – not to act on immediately, but to ‘put on the back burner’, cuz it lead to more – and showed me a shift in energy – since the last M-r (Jan 14 – Feb 3) which was in AQ – CAP.

MERCURY initiated the GEM momentum on Apr 29.
Yet a different ball game than last year, when M-r in GEM in Spring re-activated an extended GEM phase that was on mid-2020 to end of 2021, due to the North Node being there, generating Eclipses in GEM – SAG, plus LILITH was about to enter GEM July 18 2021 – Apr 15, 2022. A lot about questions, questioning the old narrative, learning, ‘science’, free thinking,
This year, the GEM energy is integrating / phasing out, and transitioning to TAU which isa bigger deal now, due to the North Node since end of Dec in TAU – influencing this year’s Eclipses, as the recent one (in fact, we’re in Eclipse season!), and connecting with URANUS in TAU, end of July (one of the major 2 transits of the year).
The Ecliptic / Nodal shift from GEM back to TAU is mirrored through MERCURY whose retro phases – you got it! – also go backwards in the Zodiac (last year’s M-r’s were in Air signs, this year’s in Air – Earth, next year in Earth).
Nevertheless, GEMINI energy plays an important role in May / June – it’s GEM season, and MERCURY in its own sign GEM goes retro. Which splits the MERCURY-in-GEM time into 2 parts: the pre- and retro part, Apr 29 – May 22, and the post-retro full run-through, June 13 – July 4.
On the day when MERCURY in GEM goes retro JUPITER will make a big move into ARIES (May 10 – Oct 27 for a first ‘preview’ – more to come, from Dec 20 on). More about JUPITER into AR, in separate blog post – coming up these days.

It should be quite ‘interesting’ (to put it mildly), as MERCURY is natural in GEM… Wondering what we’ll be informed by and learn – on all levels, and how that informs our Heart & Consciousness (not just the mind), in this phase.
Some Tidbits for Newbies to MERCURY Retro (M-r)
MERCURY goes retro from Earth perspective (of course, not ‘actually’, from the central Solar vantage point) because of its elliptic orbit around the Sun, in relation to the almost exactly circular orbit of the Earth around the Sun. From our terrestrial perspective, MERCURY hence appears to be alternating between going quite fast, going slow, and even ‘falling back’ (like two trains going at different speeds next to each other – looking out the window of the faster train the slower one seems to be going backwards).
MERCURY goes retro 3 times a year (about every 4 months) for about 3 weeks. The covered area in the Zodiac that’s covered by the retro motion is 10 – 15 degrees. Because of that regularity the retro phases are in each year in the same element (in 2022 in the AIR-to-EARTH signs: Jan 14 – Feb 3 in AQ – CAP, May 10 – June 3 in GEM – TAU, Sept 9 – Oct 2 in LIBRA – VIR. The pattern goes also retro (will be in EARTH in 2023).
What’s the Cosmic Weather on Earth, during MERCURY’s retro trip?
Well, lots going on in this mercurial season. Starting with its 1st entry to GEM on Apr 29, the ‘storm’ which started on May 3, and ending with leaving the ‘storm’ on June 11.

Time to re-consider mental constructs and paradigms. And to come from mental abstractions / info / numbers, news, back to Spirit, Consciousness, to the Body, and the Heart.

From early GEM back to VIR this time (from 4°51′ GEM back to 26°05′ TAU, to be precise), from May 10 to June 3.
If you’ve read my MERCURY retro support REport (or even advocacy) over the years you know:
M-r isn’t necessarily ‘BAD’ news, as pop Astrology would have it. And hey – perhaps M-r is ‘even’ an overdue and cosmically well timed de-conditioning!
In a nutshell, with M-r, the Archetype of the MIND is operating differently / ‘unusually’, and tuned-up into a ‘New MERCURY’ (hey, what’s that???).
Have you noticed?
Our good old messenger / trickster friend MERCURY was technically from Apr 26 in pre-retro ‘shadow’ (i.o.w., crosses the 26°05′ TAU mark from which it will go direct again at the end of M-r).
On May 3, MERCURY went into stationary (very slowly moving) ‘U-turn storm’.
And today May 10, MERCURY ‘officially’ started its seasonal retro loop which goes technically until June 3, and rolls out completely until mid-June.
So, end of Apr – mid-June (which include build-up time before and roll-out time after) are under M-r influence.
Take it easy on ‘plans‘, and don’t get wrapped up in ‘loops’ based on too much random info / confusion.
A good time to chill, go on a RE-treat, or RE-laxation (esp of the bizzy mind), and to be open to unexpected info / intel / communication that can open your mind.
M-r is conducive for
Purging outdated info (Spring cleaning, yay!) – and finding surprisingly re-levant info ‘from the past’ (or: on a meta-level, shows where we were at mentally, at that time)
Catching up with people we haven’t talked with in a while, and be surprised by synergistic conversations that lead to so much more than ‘expected’ (or: have glitches with them which will be quite telling about the relationship…).
Picking up lost & forgotten reading or writing projects we’ve been shelving for a while
And a heightened time for info to leak, and communication to happen that’s usually under the radar.
Could be also a good time to check in again astrologically – which is by nature so much about macro-micro, and the ‘meta level’ of phenomenality. Just get in touch if you feel it’s calling you.

You might wonder, what stands out, re: MERCURY Contacts in the retro loop in GEM – TAU? Thankfully, not too much, this time round – yay! Only ‘friendly’ sextiles with VENUS, JUPITER, and MARS.
Having said that, if the M-r, esp. in its station at the beginning, and (lesser so) in the end of the retro phase ‘hooks up’ with one of your Planets or sensitive points you’ll definitely notice it.

The first half of M-r (phases 1. – 4.) is the Epimethean phase. RE-minding us of ‘old stories’ – which doesn’t have to be a ‘bad thing’ to overcome, it can be an important RE-flection / correction inducer…
The second half of M-r (phases 4. – 8.) is the Promethean phase. New insights and connection with Spirit and Consciousness can more readily lead to new inspired direction – a very auspicious time.
MERCURY went into so-called pre-retro ‘shadow’ on Apr 26 (it passed for the first time the Zodiac point (26°05′ TAU) from which it will after the retro phase go direct / forward again, on June 3). Noticed ‘foreshadowing’ of themes that might come up during M-r ?
A good time to be fluid as quicksilver, RE-spond to higher intelligence, and trust the ‘messenger from the future’, via intuition and precognition. Perhaps you already had inspired conversations with friends / in groups, about GEM / TAU themes (Nature, gardening, food, body, writing, reading, news…).
MERCURY Retro in the Starters
On May 3, MERCURY entered its stationary ‘storm’ period (moved very slowly), i.o.w., started to go into ‘U-turn’ mode in early GEM.
A time to also slow down the regular fast and busy mind that likes to multi talk / task and be ‘in control’.
‘Regular’ / ‘normal’ communication affairs might started to become ‘tricky’, ‘chaotic’, ‘complicated’ and ‘messed up’, but only from the perspective of the ego that likes to seize control via the mind.Yet also, synchronicities and magic kicked in…
MERCURY in ‘zigzag mode’ suggests being super adaptable, in flux and at ease, while swiftly, swimmingly / surfingly, changing course as necessary. It can lead to a more auspicious outcome than abstractions and alienating fixed ideas (low AQ vibes) that the mind assumes are ‘the way’.
7-Circle Classical Labyrinth by Helen Rowlands, reminds me of a brain
In the actual RETRO PHASE from May 10 – June 3, the mind is geared to turn inward-backward, and mental moves may be paradoxical, like in a labyrinth, or ‘far out’ / eccentric.
As always, the MERCURY retro cyclestarts with the ‘Epimethean’ phase (first half – until May 21) where old epic stories, memories, and patterns show up for REasons yet unknown, REvealing themselves in the journey.
With the GEM-to-TAU energy of the upcoming M-r… (GEM in the 1st half, and TAU in the 2nd)… …it’s good to gain space and distance from the mind that attaches to ‘far out’ ideas and mind-sets (so TAU – GEM). Don’t believe everything you think – and check where ‘your’ thoughts may come from, and why you’re attached to / stuck on them!), experiment with new hypothesis (like a scientist – GEM), verify them in the ‘real tangible world’ (TAU), invite unexpected insights, a world of synchronicities, and: Be open for new understanding, via / of hidden and overlooked info that gets our attention now, for a RE-ason.
At the half-way point of the M-r phase(May 21 this time), MERCURY crosses paths with the SUN: A new ‘New MERCURY’ (like a New Moon in the monthly SUN – MOON conjunction) is born – which happens 3 times a year. So cool that this time, MERCURY and the SUN not only align, but also shift / trade signs: The SUN goes from TAU to GEM on May 20 while MERCURY retro goes from GEM to TAU on May 22 – with the MERCURY – SUN conj. on the 1st degree of GEM right-between those dates, May 21. Let’s see what the ‘Point of Enlightened Insight’ reveals this time, in this context.
It’s time to REgenerate the mind (MERCURY), to become more conscious, follow Spirit, the Heart (SUN), and listen to the voice, messages, and language (GEM) of the body (TAU).
The second half of M-r (May 21 – June 3) is the ‘Promethean’ phase, where new insights & new Consciousness can be more easily carried forward in creative ways.

At this level we see the play of collective values as they affect the individual person and indeed confirm her / his individuality, by giving it a solid basis in a tradition. What I glean from this combo of symbols is: The GEM Mind being out of bounds, on the spectrum from psychotic, bi-polar, borderline, etc., to liberated & revolutionary is being ‘brought back’ a la M-r process, to the Heart, to the Body, to the Senses (TAU) and to Consciousness (the SUN). Let’s see what this M-r process shows about these themes…
Timeless and Timely MERCURY Retro REminders
Under M-r, ‘usual’ thinking and communication patterns are being questioned, and it appears at times as if there was a trickster / little devil at play.
Actually, we have a chance now to see the inner mental trickster / saboteur that’s been there all along, camouflaging and going unnoticed. Can you take ‘weird’ scenarios as learning experiences (GEM)?
The challenge is not to get frustrated when things don’t turn out the way YOU thought they ’should’, according to the ego.
During M-r, experiment with, practice, and hopefully also integrate for later going with the flow of things in an intuitive, heart sourced way.
With M-r in GEM – TAU, there’s lots to learn, from thinking outside the box…
Feel free to change your mind when you get the impulse / signal / intuition for an alternative course. GEM is good at zigzag course flexibility. Yet don’t let the mind run the show…
Be open to and curious about ‘creative detours’ that might lead to unexpected turns, and unusual connections, rather than going with comfort, routine, and habit of your ‘Inner Muggle’.
Rather than getting wrapped up with linear, habitual, and often self-limiting ways of dealing with information / communication channels & modes, an ‘unorthodox’ approach can open you up for serendipity, synchronicities, and magic.
Let’s mischievously ask ourselves (M-r):
How can I get out of the busy conditioned & controller mind now, and shift to Openness for Change, Creativity, and Play?
What does my Inner Magician / Wizard (yes, Mercury isn’t just a Messenger, also an Alchemist) suggest?
Where’s the comic (and cosmic) relief in all this…?

Let’s stay as mobile (like quicksilver, the MERCURY metal), adaptable, and unattached to ‘plans’ / agenda as possible. MERCURY is a very light, youthful, fresh, fun-loving punster and Coyote / prankster energy.
It looks at the fun and also meaningful side of unusual twists & turns, and even likes to provoke those. Tuning into that less serious mode makes us happier and more at ease – not only – these days.
Come on board with these spontaneous twists, unintentional new-found puns, and creative fun realizations! While being mindfully present & clear.
Laughing at ourselves is certainly part of the picture.
And noticing how the mind is playing tricks on us – all the time, but now hopefully more often busted – esp. in comic relief ways – with ego alert, ha-ha! Great time for satire and comedy it is – and ‘real life s & c’!
When it comes to committing to something long-term – pls consider that it might not be ready to be definite yet.
Yet you can make a choice to be in a vibration that attracts the match that you easily recognize & connect with.
Give yourself time. During M-r, new information streams in, which can alter our outlook on things. Often, after the M-r phase we have more information which gives a different picture, based upon which a good avenue forward becomes clear. If we did commit prematurely and aren’t flexible to back off again easily, we might say, “Oh, if I only had known… I wouldn’t have changed course… and didn’t have to untangle complications.”
As always with MERCURY retro, esp. in GEMINI, clarify communication whenever possible:
Say things several times,in different ways / even in a different language to make sure there’s no misunderstanding in a fast / distracted context – in our oh-so ADD world.
Talk in a way that offers invitations for open discussion (GEM), and be present and genuinely curious (if you are!), rather than distracted (GEM shadow).
Ask questionsthat instinctively / intuitively come up (esp. to clarify otherwise held assumptions!).
Choose the most direct medium & tool available (meet and connect in person, or at least via online video, rather than phone, email / message), which helps with clearer & more holistic communication, mimic, body signals. More ‘channels’ are involved & signals are conveyed, by being face-to-face with the other person rather than on the phone, or via mutual messaging / e-monologue – so ‘standardized’ and ‘normalized’ in the electronic age and a big deal since 2020. M-r gives us the chance to take a break from it – at least make sure we SEE each other! And who knows what else might come up and be addressed when you take the opportunity to actually meet & talk?!
If you become mercurially frustrated, maybe it’s because you needed to learn something about the nature of the human mind and its extensions, as in: technological equipment which now, more than usually, seem to have ‘a mind of their own’…
You don’t want to become (well, maybe now you see how much you could be) a stressed-out remotely controlled slave of coordination and communication.
Computers, phones, and tech gadgets are ‘just’ tools. Yet, their efficiency also depends on & responds to the (hopefully relaxed & detached, savvy & inventive) mind of their ‘master’. Have you noticed? The technical equipment can magically-morphically mirror the state of mind WE’re in, even ‘simply’ by breaking down and being ‘on strike’ when we humans need ‘a break’ anyway?
Give your tools and tasks proper mindful and focused care & attention, one at a time, instead of attempting to multi task and ‘efficiently’ orchestrate everything simultaneously.
To keep the interface between the electromagnetic field of computers and the human mind smoothly operational, don’t impose any potential extra stress onto your nervous system – nor on your computer.
And how about: Turn the AI network off, and your inner intelligence on.
Take note & respect signals showing you that you need to be relaxed & mindful. Assume nothing, and drop your (under M-r evident, otherwise under the radar) expectations & assumptions.
Foremost, trust the infinite Intelligence of the Bigger System aka Universe, ‘even’ as it might temporarily take you on wild & ‘crazy’journeys that you apparently haven’t signed up for. Trust the impermanence, and notice how much your mental involvement affects your experience of ‘the trip’.
Under M-r, talk to people from the past who come to mind and whom you haven’t heard from in a long time. And to ‘new’ yet familiar like-spirited people whom you’ve just met and intuitively ‘clicked with’. M-r also tends to bring back unfinished communication business from the past, esp. from previous M-r phases (last ones in Sept / Oct 2021, and Jan / Feb 2022).
What also happens quite often under M-r:

Rather than having the mind ueber full… Be mindful, and observe the phenomenon mind from a deeper level.
Like, by asking yourself:
Why am I really saying this? Who’s the one thinking and talking here?
If we don’t do from time to time this ‘mental hygiene’ our inner ‘devil’s advocate – disguised as M-r – out-tricks us, subconsciously ‘sabotaging’ our plans, second guessing ourselves, and constellating circumstances that make us back off from our original intention.
So important to check what we’ve been doing with our brain – or rather, what the brain has been doing with us all along.
The Buddhists call the day-to-day mind that busies itself with all kinds of ‘chatting’ and inner stories, lists, and dialogues, the ‘Monkey Mind’. Like a monkey, the trickster mind jumps from one tree of interest and attachment to the next, and is never quiet, unless we observe the movement, and thereby naturally calm it.

1) Be easy on yourself, as you get into the groove of things
It usually takes a week or so to adjust to the different mode. Take it it easy on the pre-retro shadow phase (from Apr 20 on), rather than being ‘pulled into’ the wild ‘storm’ (from May 3 on), or apparently stationary stuckness (can be either and both, in paradoxical trickster fashion).
2) Be mindful, and lead from what’s here-now
There’s a tendency for the mind to be distracted and all over the place, to loose and misplace things and thoughts that later have to be RE-trieved again in your ‘inner house’. Oh gosh, so much apropos M-r in GEM. Avoid getting scattered and disorganized, collect the mind ‘pieces’, be present with any situation and function ‘at hand’, and don’t loose sight of what practically works & matters. The apparent priority of urgent ‘little’ things & ‘small stuff’ can easily be a distraction and waste of energy. Practice coming back to the Here-NOW.
3) Retro is an inwards / backwards oriented energy
M-r is a good time to RE-treat, and RE-connect with meditation and mindfulness. Also an excellent chance (if not necessity) to deal with ‘old unfinished business’, ‘loose ends’, and to clear communication themes from the past, often carried over from a previous M-r times (last ones Sept / Oct 2021, Jan / Feb 2022).
4) Every M-r phase is a great time for basically everything that starts with ‘RE-‘, esp. RE-sidual communication
Like: RE-assess, RE-align, REad, Re-search, RE-treat, RE-pair, RE-boot, RE-group, RE-consider, RE-arrange, RE-place, you name it…
One RE-ason for me pointing out all these RE-activities: During M-r (which also has a karmic undertone), we / they less likely get away anymore with being sloppy, and with procrastinating or neglecting RE-sidual communication issues with people from the past. They come up like a mirror. Talk about what RE-ally matters, esp. with friends and loved ones. What do you think about – and might want to (re?)discuss, re: information, messages, news, communication, schools / learning, science, writings / books / articles (all things GEM)?
5) Choose the clearest and most direct mode of communication available
Phone rather than messaging / emailing. Meet and connect in person rather than via phone / text, to make sure an actual dialogue happens (rather than just your factual monologue, with the assumption you know what they think, or they know what you think). Consider communicating in several ways & via different media, to make sure the message comes across. Keep in mind that because people’s minds can be all over the place now, communication might be scattered and incomplete, or prone to assumptions: “I thought you got my email!!!”, or actually a monologue: Are you just thinking out loud as you talk, or are you actually suggesting something to me?
6) Be mindful & compassionate in your communication with others
Compassionately put yourself in their position, and take ownership & responsibility for your mental processes, rather than blaming and judging (possibly based on a lack / deficiency / incompleteness of communication).
7) Be clear and precise with commitments & agreements
Double-check whether you’ve been understood correctly, and RE-peat / RE-phrase back to them too. Avoid signing an agreement with consequences before you have all the necessary information (often only after MERCURY retro is over, or at least half-way, meeting the SUN = May 21.
8) MERCURY Retro RE-minds us…
…that direct connection with one another as an authentic & lively dialogue offers the opportunity to open up, speak freely, and touch on other subjects than the originally intended purpose / agenda of the communication. Which can eventually lead to an even more important outcome or direction than anticipated. Check out in hindsight why you actually needed to talk to that person…
9) Under M-r, the odds for fabulous unexpected synchronicities are 99%
When we act more intuitively and out of the ordinary, we let the spontaneous intervention of the Universe show us our interconnectedness! So magical!
10) M-r is a good time to RE-connect with people you have lost sight of – and see them in a new light
And with the GEM flavour, get in touch again with people whom you ‘speak the same language’ with – a language of the Heart. Trust your intuition, and let yourself be surprised by what shows up when you speak to them – also re: whether you are (still? again?) on a wavelength or not. No assumptions… Allow yourself to get mentally un-stuck in conversation. Old communication themes might get triggered yet now’s the chance to see them in context (e.g. of your & their role in the system / group). Or you might meet new people whom you heart connect with, and feel you already know each other ‘from somewhere’.
11) The areas of life (partners, children, career, groups, etc.) that THIS retro phase brings up for YOU… …have to do with the Planet/s and House/s that M-r activates in YOUR personal birth chart, in other words where late TAU to early GEM is situated (see above). I’m happy to check that out for and WITH you – as a quick hint, or in a focused (or longer) session if more is going on for you…
12) When ‘glitches’ occur, be fluid and flexible like quicksilver (MERCURY’s metal), think “shift happens”
No need to feel dumb / not smart enough (a GEM thing). Turn the paradigm around: What could be the opportunity in this mishap? What’s ‘even’ actually funny about this? RE-frame your way of thinking about things. And entertain the possibility that you might have subconsciously ‘arranged’ a wild alternative to the original ‘plan A’ which – who knows? – might lead to something new and better and more fun than what the ‘normal’, ‘usual’, ‘regular’, and apparently most ‘efficient’ mind-in-rut-mode could have come up with?
13) Enjoy those unintentional puns, slips, and new connections in the mind, be creative and brainstorm – esp. together with your MERCURY Retro Friends.
14) Enlightened Insights, anyone…?

The Johnny Depp – Amber Heard court proceedings in the defamation trial re: domestic violence started on Apr 11, revealing so much psychological background – just before LILITH entered CAN. Definitely a marker. Often, at the onset of a Planetary Archetype changing signs, the Zeitgeist mirrors it – showing us more about the themes…
Today, on this first Mother’s Day since LILITH entered CANCER, I felt called to write this article dedicated to Her watery journey that already started a month ago, and goes for exactly 8 more months.
It’s actually the first LILITH in CANCER Mother’s Day in this Millennium! The last time she was in CAN, June 9, 2013 – March 5, 2014, wasn’t over Mother’s Day. Nor was the previous time, Aug 4, 2004 – Apr 29, 2005!
To many of you LILITH requires no intro. But it could be still good to recap:

Asteroid LILITH has a 9-year cycle and hasn’t been in CANCER since June 2013 – March 2014 (last phase). ‘She’ travels 9 month in one sign – a ‘pregnancy phase’ to cultivate intrinsic qualities of that Zodiac energy, through / in our True, Free, unconditioned Nature. And by the way, ‘she’ never goes retro.
LILITH the ‘Wild Woman’ Archetype… …often showing up as half woman, half (power) animal, represents in Women and Men the inner Feminine (Anima) who cannot be defined or confined by patriarchy and its gender expectations of what a woman is ‘supposed to be’ (attractive in her VENUSian side, nurturing mother in a MOON Archetype sense). Wholeness requires the integration of LILITH into the ‘trinity’ with VENUS and the MOON.
By separating the ‘good’ sides (represented by MOON & VENUS) and ‘bad’ sides (represented by LILITH) of the feminine, the predominant Judaeo-Christian and patriarchal world suppressed Goddess worship – the female energy as the basis of life.
LILITHis indomitable & undomesticable (esp. in CANCER), and would rather be in ‘exile’, in ‘the wilderness’, in nature, than subjugated by a masculine dominated & patriarchal culture that splits the ‘dark’ sides off, or doesn’t let her be free to be true to her Nature. Scorned as ‘bitch’ or ‘witch’, her power is feared by those who would prefer the feminine to be ‘safe’ and ‘nice’ – subordinated to the consensus agenda – rather than being powerfully allied with nature. LILITH cuts through power based relationships, and exposes those. In CANCER, esp. in the realms of home and family, mothers and children, and various tribal ‘consensus’ situations.
The inner LILITH in our charts shows us in which areas we can connect with primal nature, in what ways that very ‘raw beast’ needs to be ‘fed’ and acknowledged, and how this access to instinctual power can be used creatively.
On a deeper level, the ‘Inner Wild’ takes us to our always ‘wild and free’ unconditioned Nature, the True Self. LILITH in CANCER invites us to uncover the layers of childhood conditioning, to find our True Self underneath.
A well integrated LILITH brings us closer to our ‘animal instincts’, gut intelligence, natural way of instinctually ‘smelling’ a situation, and eventually: to be true to who we really are.
Unconscious LILITH: The demoness-temptress that leads to disaster. Conscious LILITH: Transformative, shamanic, often shows up in midlife, prompted by instinctual desires for freedom.
Crossroads of feminine life where LILITH shows up and needs to be acknowledged (all very Cancerian): Puberty, childbearing, menopause. Of course also pre-menstrual phases can be very LILITH-like.
LILITH transitions or life style choices are up when we decide to leave a relationship or a work place that threatens to suffocate or humiliate our feminine spirit & integrity and our ‘Wild Heart’, and choose freedom (with the price tag attached). LILITH is with us when we raise our children as single moms, choose not to be a mom, choose not to entertain a ‘conventional’ relationship, or in general decide to live in accordance with nature, rather than in an alienating culture that suppresses spirit.

The Total Solar Release Eclipse in SAG on Dec 4 was opposite LILITH in GEM. Could you let go of Old Stories, judgment, (buying into) agenda? And activate your unconditioned curiosity?

For the CANCER countries Canada and U.S.A., LILITH will ‘rattle the cage’ this year, with lots of discontent of the ‘exiled ones’.
For Canada, it started with LILITH on C’s late GEM MOON, in April. Then mostly mid-June to mid-July (Happy C Day!), when LILITH transits C’s SUN / URANUS(!) on its 4th House(!) cusp.
For the U.S., LILITH transited its URANUS & MARS in GEM (Rogue Voices!) over the last year, and starts to activate its CANCER sides (VENUS & JUPITER) mid-May – mid-June, its SUN in Aug, and its MERCURY retro in Nov(!).
While in CANCER (Apr 15 – Jan 8), LILITH will make these Contacts with other Planetary Archetypes
The energy will be activated at least a week before, and some days after the exact alignment. Integration of its effects can take longer, of course, esp. if LILITH and the other cosmic players come in contact with your cosmic markers and their themes.
Once a month, the MOON in CANCER meets LILITH, bringing out our needs to be true to, and wild & free in ourselves. Here are the dates: May 4, June 1, June 28 (CANCER Moon with LILITH!), July 26, Aug 23, Sept 19, Oct 17, Nov 13, Dec 11.
The LILITH effects started early May, with the CANCER Moon (see timeline).
The first phase of LILITH in CAN (May – June, before the CANCER NM) is characterized bysquares between LILITH and Planets in ARIES (VENUS May 4, MARS June 1, JUPITER all through June). The last ARIES square will be with CHIRON, on Sept 2. A clash / creative tension that calls for action, between various aspects of Self / Authenticity / Autonomy, and finding the ‘Wild Heart’ that takes us Home.
MAY 4 The freshly waxing MOON in CAN welcomed LILITH, both squared by VENUS in ARIES. Know your True Home is always IN you. Love starts with healthy Self Love.
JUNE 1 MARS in AR squares the MOON & LILITH in CAN Conflict in the house? Time to take action (not as a re-action though), in matters of actually following the Heart, rewilding yourself, and ‘wild re-homing’?
JUNE 2 VENUS in TAU in sextile with LILITH in CAN Enjoying Nature sure helps with being in the Inner Wild-at-Heart.

What a pull these days and weeks, to immerse in the now publicly displayed dark & complex sides of this former couple’s dynamic. What’s being revealed in the defamation trial about their relationship seems like a ‘Fatal Attraction’, with so much drama, attachment, violence, (mutual? self?) abuse, and cruelty.
Also, yet another representation of intense division, now in the private and relational realm (after social / societal – Covid Crisis, countries – war in Ukraine). Ever so prevalent, since SATURN entered AQ in 2020.
Today, I felt called to write an astrological piece that hopefully helps shed light at their dynamics with one another, as well as at the relationship itself. It’s solely meant to offer an access point, without claiming to be in any way in-depth or comprehensive enough to fully do justice to their journey. And clearly, without having met them in person. Yet, hopefully it’ll evoke thoughts, reflections, and discussion, and can bring helpful awareness to those of us in similar relational / astrological ‘entanglements’.
No ‘coincidence’ that this trial culminates at this Spring Eclipse season, with the TAU New Moon / PSE / ‘Seed Eclipse’ in early TAU on Apr 30 – just 8 days after Amber’s birthday on Apr 22, and the SCO – TAU Full Moon / TLE on May 15 (with its path of totality over the Americas) – activating their shared / common SCO themes. Plus, Amber was born just 2 days before a Total Lunar Eclipsein SCO – TAU – with the same Nodal Axis as is on currently.
First-off, Amber’s birth time is apparently not published, or I should say: I couldn’t find it. So I set up her birth chart for 12 noon, on Apr 22, 1986 in Austin TX.
Johnny’s birth chart has been published. I set it up again in my program: June 9, 1963 at 8:44 am CST (converted into 9:44 am EST), in Owensboro KT.
Even though, I generated both their birth charts separately, I won’t go into their own individual journeys, and keep this article focused on astrological perspectives on the Relationship.
…by using the tools of Synastry chart where both their charts are projected onto each other, showing their dynamics with one another, hence: the Chart of their Relating.
…and of the Composite – a new chart, calculated through midpoints between their Planets, Suns, Moons, AC’s, and Houses, showing the Alchemy of the combination between their indiv. energies that they bring – hence also called: Chart of the Relationship. I usually discuss this one with couples who’re already for a while in relationship – and this joint effect has shown – yet also at the onset, to have a perspective of the combo potential.

Wow – 6 ‘click points’ = connections between their planetary Archetypes! Some multiple, in TAU, SCO, and CAP.
I circled these connections in red.
Most striking, and activated via transits: The dynamics in SCO, CAP, and ARIES.
Let’s start with SCORPIO which is also where the Total Lunar Eclipse on May 15 will be! Here, in this deep, dark zone, we find Amber’s South Node (well, on the very last minutes in LIBRA – literally the ‘Tipping Point’ cusp coming from LIBRA where her MOON is), and PLUTO retro nearby, ‘clicking’ with Johnny’s LILITH & NEPTUNE retro (what a ‘Pirate’ signature…) in his 4th House or Home, Family, Origin.
A trigger scenario that can tip A. emotionally ‘over the edge’ (can’t hold the Libran balance needed to be charming, considerate, harmonious, likable), and bring out her inner cursing monster / controller (or does she experience this in a projected way in partners / opponents?) when confronted with J.’s unavailability, either via him disappearing, or escaping into a wild world of intoxicants which of course are self sabotaging to him too. A pattern going back to his childhood, related to a dad whom he experienced as a confusing mix of kind, compassionate, weak, passive, instrumentalized to be the executor of his mom’s cruel punishment orders, and eventually disappearing. No wonder J. needed to escape from the toxic home scenario early in life, and rather leave the scene like his dad, yet keeps attracting situations (esp. the one with A.) when he goes into his toxic bubble / separate room of inner drug emigration when intense situations at home arise.
Well, with A.’s PLUTO (in its ruled sign SCO) clicking, there’s “no place to run, no place to hide”, and her presence & triggers evoke his potential for violence & self violence, esp. under the influence of drugs / alcohol. J.’s LILITH / NEPTUNE in SCO are in sextile connection with his URANUS / MARS / PLUTO (ruler of SCO) in VIR where health and wellness go out of the window when apparently ‘small things’ trigger him (of course, intense, passionate work with attention to detail being a great outlet – or escape?).
Not a good place / match for A. as it brings out her worst (PLUTO retro / SN) – as she deals with / delivers intense power / control and (esp. emotional) violence, and pain.
SATURN ‘marked’ that earlier part of SCO 2013 – 14 when the two had started dating, before getting married in 2015. The ring of karma – being trapped in a dark place to work things out…
Hopefully, with the Total Lunar Eclipse Full Moon in SCO – TAU on May 15, a lot of these sticky, dark emotions are not only being seen in the full limelight, but also can be more honestly processed, in them, and in the wide audience who identifies. It IS a Zeitgeist phenomenon, and may even start a movement.
In SAG, we see A.’s SATURN retro, and URANUS retro, falling into J’s 5th House of Inner Child / Childhood / Creativity / Lovers.
The captivating storyteller in him, and her capacity to tell stories from the not-so-current past with baffling accuracy & thrill factor, coupled with have a quite apparent inner need for authority / respect (which she might not have received from parents), and for freedom. Is she exaggerating? Can we trust her, or what’s questionable? The good ole qu with SAG – GEM.
Her SAG Planets oppose Johnny’s GEM SUN in his 11th House of Friendships and Society – quite the challenge for him to be confronted with her way, her truth, her story, her surprise / shock factors and unpredictability (“Too good to be true?”), and the reflections / backlashes on his social environment.
A. had her 1st SATURN Return in 2015 – the year of their wedding to significantly (almost 23 years) older J., followed by the SATURN transit on her URANUS when she filed for divorce in 2016. What a timing, to work out this ‘story gone from happy to mad to very bad’…
In CAPRICORN is where a lot of click-point action between A. and J. happens – which also got activated 2013-16 and 2019:
A.’s NEPTUNE retro / MARS (ha – ‘Aqua Man’) connecting with J.’s MOON / South Node, all of which got triggered by PLUTO 2013-16 (a historic activation, only every 248 years – what a timing!), and by SATURN in 2019. Was A. the ‘man’ in the relationship, and J. the ‘woman’?
MARS is per se very strong in CAP, and even fueled by NEPTUNE into boundless energy. Lots of stamina, energy, persistence, ambition, not giving up until she’s met her goal (which in itself can be based on an illusion / fantasy – or: wanting things the easy way). The NEPTUNE – MARS fusion also points to A.’s ‘boundless’ sexual allure and bi-sexuality – which seems to have triggered J. big time, and repeatedly, according to A.
While A.’s MARS is super strong in CAP, J.’s MOON is ‘in exile’ in CAP, plus even comes with his karmic lunar South Node backlash / re-call of his dynamics with mom (perhaps other women too). What a challenging dynamic with his mom whom he refers to with her first name Betty: minimal, if not absent, emotional nurturing, rather: cruelty, and violence, as he reports.
Would this also relate to patterns with women in his life? In any case, looks like his dynamic with A. brought it out.
At least one, if not both of them, acted out the dynamics with their parents in their relationship. The 23-year (1963 – 1986) year age difference also fits with the CAP theme and potential parental dynamics. As does the court escalation.
“Hurt people hurt people”? Abused and / or abuser? Personal / childhood history repeating itself / being acted out in all its intensity. Currently, triggered through A.’s WP op-ed article, provoking J.’s defamation trial against her, exposed it all at court where’s it’s being publicly witnessed – the World is watching.
What a timing: PLUTO activated their CAP click-points 2013 – 2016 – the phase when they had just started to date to their marriage (2015) and A.’s divorce filing (2016). SATURN arrived on the same scene in 2019 (prob when A. composed the WP op-ed article).
CAP would ask / demand: What’s required for a mature solution that truly brings this ordeal to a closure?! Let justice be done?!
We’re also dealing with an ‘Old Empire’ situation here, served up via PLUTO (in its last 2 years in CAP). Who’s energetically ‘the boss’ / has ‘the power’, and how do they use it in the relationship? Rather than meeting the other maturely and respectfully, as an equal, loved partner, in fact abuse was in the house, way too often. Lots of people in similar situations can relate to PLUTO’s reveal of A.’s and J.’s struggles. May this process by a catalyst for many, so that old modes of exploitation, abuse, top-down disrespect change for the better.
In AQ, we find J.’s SATURN – and: He has in 2022 his 2nd SATURN Return(!). A major test for his position in Humanity, and his Future. Where / who are his friends, and who’s got integrity? His SATURN (like A.’s) is retro: Finding authority within, and less is more, when engaging with ‘the system’, or with ‘ice cold’ significant others (his 7th House), which might have started with mom.
In PISCES, there’s A.’s JUPITER, connecting with J.’s CHIRON in his 8th House (where it’s about deeper layers of relationship). He also had his CHIRON Return in 2013. J. could be very sensitive, and tends to compensate by avoiding / drugging / escaping (likely initiated through how he experienced the relationship of his parents). His vulnerability also bring out his ‘Medicine’. What an awkward yet healing Medicine to reveal domestic violence.
J.’s CHIRON in PI in square with his SUN in GEM shows how GEM is an Alchemist of Masculine & Feminine, and many other apparent polarities. He used to have an androgynous appearance (less so nowadays). What a chameleon with a spectrum of personas he can be – a good prerequisite for an actor.
A.’s JUPITER in PI (and she had her JUPITER Return in March 2022!) amplifies the PI theme of a paradoxical, confusing, co-dependent entanglement… …where A. presents as the victim of the violence while she also seems to be the perpetrator.
JUPITER now in PI (only until May 10 when it enters AR) invokes the wisdom of judge & jury, and gives perspective to the whole co-dependent PI Age dynamic we’re now emerging out of, characterized by the co-dependent triad of victim – perpetrator – savior (and martyr).
Off to ARIES where J.’s JUPITER sits in his 9th House of Travelling, the Journey and Path in Life (and also of the Law – he’s been quite the adventurer and self starter (also befitting of a Pirate).
JUPITER enters ARIES on May 10(!) – prob. towards the end of the hearings. J.’s JUPITER Return comes close this Summer, and exact in March 2023 – the gift of understanding what these battles were all about? Finally a new start & life that inspires others?!
A.’s MERCURY is nearby, in square with her MARS (ruler of AR) in CAP. Voicing in a raw, agitated, and authentic way the stories (fire Trine with her SATURN in SAG) of violence… How was she involved in aggressive fireworks & verbal attacks? Physical attacks mixed with verbal ones of whom to whom? Mutually?
Maverick URANUS was in ARIES 2011 – 2019, triggering their ‘clicks’ there (and also squared the CAP dynamic). A very disruptive energy – serving the purpose for more authenticity, and for their true Selves to come out. Perhaps preparing for the CHIRON transit in ARIES we’re in now (2019 – 2027) which brings out old, esp. early wounds, for healing and as a teaching. CHIRON is this year exactly on J.’s JUPITER, squares his MOON in CAP, and was activated via the ARIES New Moon on March 31 – just before the trial hearings started. J. is now seen is a whole new light, esp. regarding wounds in him affecting the violence in the house.
A.’s SUN in early TAURUS (on the ‘Settling Point’), next to her North Node at the very end of AR, opposing J.’s LILITH (and NEPTUNE retro in SCO).
Is she born to stand her ground, and enter a good battle with a cause, rather than being drawn into J.’s ‘mess’? And / or, to stand on her own feet, rather than getting involved in manipulative & (self)destructive engagement (her South Node end of LI, not far from PLUTO retro in SCO)?
What would ‘Buddha’ energy say or do? A. was born just 2 days before the energetic Wesak Moon / Total Lunar Eclipse in SCO – TAU (the dynamic that’s also now building up, culminating on May 15!)? Clearly, we’re here on a tragic public stage of desires, wants, money, and pain, drama, intensity. What a teaching about the human suffering that comes from attachment to having one’s unmet desires satisfied, and to ‘getting rid of’ painful experiences.
Also in TAU: Both their VENUS (in her ruled sign), just 1 degree apart, and J.’s MERCURY besides (in his 10th House of Career, Public, Reputation). Clearly a mutual attraction and sensual connection. J. talking ever so slow & deliberate, talking pace, taking up time and space, in contrast to A.’s fast, interrupting mode (her MERCURY in AR) – what a challenge in their communication compatibility…!
Lastly, in GEM: J.’s SUN (ruler of his LEO Rising chart), in his 11th House of Community, Friends, Society, being met by A.’s CHIRON & LILITH.
Communication from her ‘Inner Wild’ & unconditioned Self (not concerned about social conditioning and repercussions) seems to be her ‘Wound’, and can invoke pain. It ironically also brings Medicine, in this situation: via questions brought up in the trial revealing information that helps to better understand J. And to shed light on the complexity of domestic physical and emotional abuse and violence.
The Composite – Chart of the Relationship Alchemy itself
So much Fixed Energy…. So much stuck, halted, arrested, attached energy.
Whoa – what a timing. I say it again. Their Composite chart – showing the characteristics of the Relationship itself (their Alchemy together) has an almost exact Full Moon end of SCO – TAU (with VENUS) – literally on the SAME degree as the TLE Full Moon on May 15, and also in T-square with LILITH in LEO. Lots of emotional intensity and depth / now purging what’s usually hidden, with a ‘wild’ / dramatic, and unpolished display! Plus, lots of money (and value!!!) at stake.
SUN / VENUS in TAU doesn’t automatically represent a ‘love relationship’. Attraction and value (VENUS) are at the epicentre of the couple’s dynamic, for better or worse. The SCO Full MOON on the other side points to deep emotional layers that need to be processed. LILITH in LEO (apparently unaspacted yet showing up as the T-square apex) is the outlet of the dynamic. We’ve seen ‘wild’ ways of self expression that seems to have ‘a life of their own’, maybe with the notion to be seen and loved…
What a precisely coordinated / divinely appointed timing of the culmination at this time that seems to bring their dynamic to a fruition, while themes of the Buddha Moon are invoked (how much suffering comes from attachment, and ‘celebrity status’ doesn’t equate happiness)…
Also prominent: MERCURY with CHIRON on the ARIES – TAU ‘Settling Point’ cusp, opposite URANUS not far from MARS, wrapping around the ‘Tipping Point’ in LI – SCO – which is both activating A.’s Nodal / pre-Eclipse axis. A dynamic apparently rather stirred up / owned by A. “Shall I / we stay or shall I / we go?”.
And there’s more involved – a contrasting ‘train’ of domino effects seems to be evoked either way:
The settling / establishing relationship option: Starting with JUPITER end of PI (where it’s just now), MERCURY / CHIRON on the AR – TAU ‘Settling Point’ cusp, SUN / VENUS in TAU, and North Node in GEM. Soulful connection, healing Medicine of communicating authentically & calmly, and sharing enjoyment & values. That’s what it might have promised anyway, and that could have been the potential.
The ‘other side’: PLUTO retro in LI, URANUS on the ‘Tipping Point’ cusp, followed by MARS and the Full MOON in SCO, NEPTUNE retro / South Node in SAG. Processing deep inner issues in relationship, leading to blow-ups – or liberation. Choices have to be made, to bravely go into the psychological / hence hidden / covered ‘underbelly’, and process dark childhood / family issues. If that isn’t / they aren’t to each other available for this, inner fantasies & stories can be spun, conclusions & agendas have a life of their own (while skillful communication is so called for) – leading to a trajectory that’s not a fun trip, rather an entanglement that pulls everyone in.
The Lunar Nodes were actually in the same dynamic (SAG – SCO) mid-2020 – end of 2021, in the World, and showing up in J.’s & A.’s joint Nodal Return.
What IS the Truth and the Path? Who’s right, and what does the Law say? No wonder, with all the GEM incentive, there’s a plethora of witness / expert / plaintiff / defendant interviews and hearings – all informing the situation. A tragic-dramatic GEM puzzle piece.
Lastly, SATURN. In its own sign CAP, retro, and unaspected in the Composite. Doesn’t look like a solid ‘ever after’ commitment in a ‘conventional’ sense. Yet, perhaps they had a soul contract to work out their karma, and their parental issues. In 2019, SATURN was at the same position – in a way a ‘Saturn Return’. “Done with it”? Chapter closed, lessons learned the hard way, integrating? And lessons for everyone….
I shall be leaving what turned out to become a 2-day writing immersion, and longish expose, at this point. We shall see where it goes with the trial.
May this surely trying situation be soon settled, and all come away from it wiser and better resourced. And may Love prevail!

…so much cosmic energy has been – since 2020! – ‘locked’ and frozen in the wintry vibes of hard core CAP (2020), AQ (2021), and PISCES (2022). Literally half of the Planets are still in CAP to PI. VENUS has been in PISCES (‘her’ exalted – most ‘dignified’ Zodiac energy) since Apr 5. Love IS. Beyond form, time, and space. A connection with / in the Universe…

A welcome contrast and boost for new beginnings, from the inside-out.
Yep, ARIES is autonomous self-starter energy. Lots more ARIES in action coming, via JUPITER (May 10) and MARS (May 24).
But let’s not get ahead of ourselves here (soo ARIES), and roll it back to where it ALL (incl. the astrological New Year) starts: at 0º ARIES.
VENUS moves over the ‘Emergence Point’ from PISCES to ARIES on May 2 – the day after Beltane, and 2 days after the PSE in TAU (ruled by VENUS).
With VENUS entering the ARIES scene on May 2, the Heroine emerges, and Newness blossoms – like fresh shoots in Spring.
VENUS in ARIES doesn’t wait to be asked ‘to dance’. She takes initiative, makes the first step, goes for what she values, is direct and ‘in your face’.
VENUS is in the trad. system of dignities ‘in exile’ in ARIES – furthest away from Her natural Home in LIBRA. Yet, that’s another box that we’re evolving out of.

MAY 15 – day of the TLE in SCO – TAU VENUS in mid AR meets CHIRON Showing up lovingly, boldly, and authentically is healing. New connections can be made, with the Medicine ofloving presence.

MAY 26 VENUS in late AR is met by the waning MOON, and both square PLUTO retro in late CAP. While the ‘Old Empire’ is transforming, Goddess loves it when Life takes a chance on re-emerging. Be lovingly spontaneous & fresh, follow the Life Force.
