MARS goes retro every 2 years and 2 months, for 9 weeks.
It’s ON again, and now in the making, a.k.a. MARS is ‘stationary’ (moving very slowly before the ‘U-Turn’) end of Aug to mid-Sept, thereby gets a lot of attention – and we feel the impact of the Warrior Archetype.
Noticing it?

The process / prep has already started since MARS moved into ARIES on June 27. And yes, it’ll be in its own Warrior energy until Jan 6, 2021!

MARS direct-to-retro is in the making: Sept 9 – Nov 13 and ALL in ARIES this time – which MARS rules!

Which is pretty unusual:
The last time MARS was in its own sign ARIES and going retro was almost exactly 32 years ago, July 1988 to Jan 1989, with the retro phase end of Aug to end of Oct 1988 (when it did go back to the ‘tail end’ of PISCES).
That was just before the Berlin Wall came down (Nov 1989) and the Eastern European Communist-Socialist dictatorships started to crumble (well, SATURN – URANUS – NEPTUNE in CAP, opposed by JUPITER in CANCER in 1989 had to do with that too…).

If you happen to have been born during that specific time:
Listen up & show up. This one’s esp. for you – for sure!
And for all of us with ‘something’ (SUN, MOON, AC, Nodes, Planets) in ARIES!

While MARS in ARIES goes into reverse gear, old unresolved & inner issues re: conflict, aggression and violence can come up / back in so many ways.
An important phase to learn (once again) what makes one aggressive, what leads to conflict and war.
And to stop and figure what we truly want, and how to best go about it (the CAP side that wants to see results).
What actually is Warrior Spirit?

MARS is not solo in ARIES, it also has shamanic Inner Healer CHIRON (2019 – 2026 in ARIES) and Wild LILITH (end of Jan – end of Oct 2020 in ARIES) on the team.
MARS even stations close to ERIS – these years(!) end of ARIES – an asteroid with super slow orbit (in ARIES since the early 1900’s) – mythologically the Goddess of discord, and Sister of MARS!
Now that looks like quite the quadriga of Super Heroes & Heroines – IF their energy is well applied. Since a lot can backfire also, catalyzed by MARS retro in ARIES.

Stationary MARS, together with LILITH, activate ERIS, and the 3 of them in ARIES square the ‘Titanic’ alignment of JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN, all 3 in late CAP, and in turnaround mode in Sept / Oct.
Wow, that’s very intense and has such a charge to it. So much potential for conflict and division.
What do you / we want (AR)?
And what’s the wisest way of achieving it (CAP)?

September / October 2020 is a highly charged time. May it be worked out in a productive and effective way, for the benefit of us individually (ARIES) and for society (CAP into AQ).

May responsibility & integrity bravely be restored, via the pro-active (not re-active) Inner Warrior!

 

When MARS will be in retro motion from Earth perspective it will also have significant effects on:

* RE-encountering Men ‘from the Past’
Like, literally running into men from our personal ‘history’, or being in an environment where men behave in a ‘retro’ way and how that affects us. Maybe we have ‘unfinished business’ with them / with that modus operandi. Here’s the chance to clear the decks (rather than just moving deck chairs on the Titanic).

* RE-calibrating the Inner Masculine
Coming in touch with the Inner Masculine who asserts what we want in a direct, straight-forward way – yet also with hidden anger and resentment for not being more assertive.
MARS Retro gives us the chance to shift this.

* RE-considering the various forms of ‘War on…’
…usually fear / other-ing based.
‘Even’ the established Medicine has turned into a War Medicine – fighting / killing what’s the enemy / dangerous. CHIRON in ARIES, now activated by MARS and the Harvest Moon on Oct 1, and was already big time stimulated by the ARIES New Moon with LILITH & CHIRON on March 24, 2020 is showing us a big deal about this.

* RE-connecting with old / repressed Anger and issues round Violence and War.
Esp. with ARIES, these can be very primal, and / or relate to experiences early in life.

* RE-activating the Inner Warrior of Authenticity
MARS Retro in ARIES in square with the ‘Old Empire’ end of CAP:
What gives us and what takes energy, in / through hierarchical structures (CAP)?
How can conflict between individual autonomy and authenticity (ARIES) vs. rules, law & order, security (CAP) be resolved?
What’s old about this battle? And how can repeating it be prevented?
How does the ‘Superior Warrior’ (CAP / ARIES) show up?

* RE-igniting Passion FOR Something 
…that we had lost track of and that shows up (ARIES) again – maybe quite spontaneously so. Leading to Newness.

* RE-activating Our Inner Authentic Will
…if we have relegated and delegated it – to individual others and to institutions of authority, power, and control (the CAP dynamics).

* Initiating (MARS) things from an Ego place (which likes to hijack MARS the Warrior to get you what IT wants, be pushy, bully, put people off, go into “my way or the highway” mode….) isn’t so cool in any case, and can esp. backfire under MARS retro.
There are even Astrologers who categorically use the formula for MARS retro “who initiates loses / needs to back off”.
I’d say it’s mostly an ego issue: Our ego hijacks our ‘Inner Warrior’ to get what it wants – and under MARS retro, the ego can be better seen for what it is, and put back into its place.
Initiating from the Heart might be exactly what’s required / needs to be come in more.

 

Those of us you born with SUN, MOON, AC, MC, Nodes, or Planets in ARIES will be / are already most affected by this 9-week retro action.

  Rather than being ego driven, connecting with Soul Power and acting from there. Strengthens the genuine Inner Warrior.

 

• MARS in its natural Warrior-in-Action sign ARIES squares JUPITER in its least favoured sign CAP (sooo much effort, such a big endeavor – is it all worth it???) twice: On Aug 4 (MARS direct / JUPITER retro) and Oct 18 (MARS retro / JUPITER direct).
  What have we outgrown? What have we come to understand about history and what it takes…? What’s really worth building? What can we start NOW? 

 

• MARS in its own domain of ARIES squares SATURN in its own domain of CAP twice:
  It did, on Aug 24 while MARS was still direct and SATURN retro.
  And it will again, on Sept 29, the day after SATURN goes direct while MARS will be retro.
  Why do we keep fighting authority and the Old?
  What do you / we want?
  And what’s the wisest way of achieving it?
  And – just saying…:
  When MARS will square SATURN once more it’ll be from TAURUS while SATURN will have entered AQ – on Jan 13, 2021.Soon after, MARS will hook up with URANUS stat. in TAU and square JUPITER in AQ, Jan 20 – 23, 2021. Whoa!
  That’ll be a whole different ball game – lots of impacts on society, freedom, and group consciousness.

The half-way point of MARS retro. MARS appears the brightest in the night sky now, in its 2-year cycle.

Self Awareness: Know Thyself. Who ARE YOU?
Which can be taken very deeply…

The SPHINX is an oracle, and offers a silent mirror image.
Our perception of the world ‘as it is’, and of people show
us a lot about ourselves.

In LEO, a strong Self is being developed.
In VIRGO, the question is explored: Who or what IS the Self….?

On a ‘practical’ level: Self (LEO) Awareness (VIRGO) means:

Who am I?
What brings me joy?
What do I do with Love, and as an expression of my fullness and wholeness?
What do I create from Love that’s in service to others?
How can I use my creative play, my passion, and my strengths not just for myself but to help others?
How do I put my Love into Service?

Self Aware VIRGO is related to the Sacred Feminine / Priestess.

Who is motivated by alignment, as in:
Bringing order into chaos.
Alignment with the cosmic order and the higher self.
Bringing these to the ‘ground level’, and bringing Heaven to Earth.
Clearly a (necessary, next level) ‘humbling’ effect in VIR after glorious and sometimes bombastic LEO.

In the seasons / yearly cycle it’s the time when Summer play time turns into ‘back to school / work’, and when harvest work begins.
In human development LEO – VIR is the phase from adolescence (show time, party time, being seen and popular, having fun) to young adulthood (taking on new responsibilities, transition into college / university or into the work world).

The passionate, fiery ‘anything goes’ LEO energy becomes grounded, practical, realistic, and checks in:
Does this work, is it healthy, functional?
What would work better?
What needs to be realigned?

Paying attention to details and ‘issues’ is helpful, becoming neurotic – not so much.  
Always good to check in with awareness: 
What’s going on here?
What am I doing and why?
Whom and what does this serve? Or is it self-serving?
Can I be aware of the ego, and put its energy into some practical use?

MERCURY in VIRGO (Aug 19 – Sept 5): Practice IS Perfect

Dear Astro~News Buffs & Newbies,

Here comes another noteworthy cosmic (Sphinxy!) shift:
MERCURY the swift Messenger (its GEMINI side) and crafty Alchemist (its VIRGO facet) goes from LEO(Show Time / Roar Time / Heart Time – since Aug 4) into VIRGO.

Have you noticed the whole spectrum of the LEO expression on your and others’ minds, over the last weeks?
With expressions of joy, playfulness, natural strength, confidence, and ideally: Being in the Heart and communicating from there…
Yet also lower vibrations of egoic self absorption, confidence as a facade to not ‘lose face’, maybe even narcissism – mostly an over compensation of actual lack of self confidence and living from the Heart….

MERCURY in LEO has shown us once again how the mind can be too me-me-me selfie-oriented, and lack detachment / perspective / the ability to witness in a bigger system.
That’s prob why it’s considered ‘in Fall’ in LEO (while ‘exalted’ in AQ).
Hopefully you and I and many people had a chance to turn it around, and come from the Heart-of-Hearts.

On Aug 19, day after the end-of-LEO New Moon, MERCURY crosses over the mysterious and oracular ‘Sphinx Point’ to VIRGO where the Planetary Archetype of ‘Mind’ can help us be aware of the Self and its function ‘in the World’, and be in alignment with the ‘cosmic assignment’:

And what are you here for?
How can you bring your strength & love into service?

 

Naturally, MERCURY in VIRGO will bring questions and new information to these ever so critical issues in 2020 right to the foreground:
Back to school? Back to the work world? Economy and health.
The functioning of the system and wellness of the human body-mind-spirit.

Well, MERCURY for a brief time (3 weeks) in VIRGO can be the critical, practical, common sense antidote to the ever soo long (9 1/2 weeks!) phase of MERCURY in PISCES (Feb 3 – Apr 10) incl its retro phase (Feb 16 – March 9) when ‘it all’ began with the collective Covid crisis / immersion on all levels, esp. mentally.
Now as we have almost 1/2 year experience and data, how do we proceed from a critical-rational standpoint?

MERCURY in VIRGO also represents and supports the voice of the Sacred Feminine –
After / beyond the purrrhaps boisterous Leonine expression. True strength isn’t about flexing macho muscles to stand in one’s own glory but about Self Awareness.

The VIRGO Earth Angel in the picture to the left beautifully represents the Sacred Feminine in her temple, with Hermes / Mercury helping to transmit cosmic / galactic light to the earthly experience.

The SUN will follow MERCURY and go into VIRGO on Sept 22.
Wellness in Wholeness and Self-Integrity is the overall theme.

Our Yoga teacher brought up the theme of (unattainable) perfection – which is so VIRGO.
Having a sense of what works and is ‘in order’ (i.e. in cosmic order) can make the VIRGO mind so frustrated about the ‘imperfect self’ in an ‘imperfect world’  which appears full of mess and problems… lots of them un-fixable.

What to do about this predicament?
Alignment with / as our ‘Higher’ / True Self helps – and is an on-going practice.
One of the VIRGO themes / my mantra in that regard is:
Practice IS Perfect.
What’s your perfect practice?

 

We do our part / what we can, yet we’re not the doers’ on a spiritual level – and ‘even’ quite practically: How do you ‘make’ your lungs breath, your heart beat – nothing ‘to do’ about all these ‘autonomous’ body functions that are quite miraculously happening without conscious intervention. 
That’s what NEPTUNE in PISCES ‘on the other side of the spectrum’ (yet all-encompassing and all-connective) shows us.
And dys-functions show us: things are out of alignment.

 

MERCURY in VIRGO helps with being rational-practical, and applying what we know.
That’s very beneficial since the Alchemist Archetype will go into connection / communicative contact with ALL SIX Planets that are presently RETRO (CHIRON, URANUS, JUPITER, NEPTUNE, PLUTO, and SATURN).
Let’s use this phase for reflection and integration of the massive outer events earlier this year.

And how does that help with our on-going practice to stay well and in alignment with our Higher Self (the VIRGO theme)?

MERCURY in VIR in Earth Trine with SATURN retro in CAP, and also in T-square with the Nodal Axis (SN in SAG, NN in GEM)
Both Planets in their Rulership sign.
While MERCURY is swift & straight-forward, SATURN is still retro and very slow, going into turnaround mode (Sept 28 is the ‘due date’ for SATURN to go direct again).
Lots to organize and get ready for (and school starts the week after – where it does).
Don’t judge / be hard on yourself and do things the hard & heavy way but do take responsibility.
A good time for late Summer clearing (incl inner ‘house cleaning’), and for getting the pieces together to build a foundation for projects to come.

End-of-LEO / Sphinx Point New Moon (Aug 18) with MERCURY & 6 Planets Retro – Self Awareness & Life Experience

Dear Radiant Star Being,

Central questions for LEO – the Zodiac energy in central Summer!

The upcoming late LEO New Moon with MERCURY is planting powerful Seeds into our cosmic / human beingness, for all of the above – if we choose to invoke, welcome, and express it.

As the seasonal Sphinx Point energy on the cusp to VIRGO is near (the SUN will enter VIRGO on Aug 22, and MERCURY already on Aug 19) we’re called to be Self (LEO) aware (VIRGO), and integrate our inner Love, Light and Strength, to channel it into Service.
MERCURY right next to the New MOON & moving over the Sphinx Point 23 hrs later shows:
Self Awareness is crucial for new beginnings now – to know who we are deeply, and in that way speak from Love, and act in Service.

With presently 6 Planets retro (URANUS on Aug 15 being the most current turnaround) it’s also about integration of external experiences – plus:
The New Moon forms a rare ‘Life Experience Figure’ with other Planets.
We’re in quite a Life Experience now, and are called to source from our Life Experience.

 

What’s special about the LEO NEW MOON on Aug 18?

• LEO IS special! 😉
  

 

• The last third of LEO where we’re in now (since about Aug 12) and where the New Moon will be has a SAG undertone:
  What is it that you know / what is your Heart Truth that needs to be seen and expressed?
  
  The New Moon has even a Fire Trine to the South Node (SN) in SAG – trusting intuition and inner knowing.
  But rather than trying to convince others of our Truth (lots of energy is being consumed by that this ever so polarized year) and expect them to understand let’s engage in a genuinely curious dialogue, and ask intelligent questions.
  
  The recent journalist qu at a White House press conference: “Mr President, do you regret all your lies since you’re in office?” might get attention but is effectively futile.
  Having said that, the South Node in SAG (June 2020 – Dec 2021) brings out a lot of ‘too good to be true stories, un-truths / lies, and old agenda that needs to go.
  Yep, Trump was also born with the South Node in SAG. The New Moon is btw on Trump’s MARS, and close to his Sphinx Point AC.
  Let’s see how its topic of Life Experience & Self Awareness plays out for him, and vicariously for the U.S. in this critical Summer.

 

• Oh-so fiery energy – see chart below, with ARIES and LEO prominent but also SAG via SN.
  Feeling and sensing it?
  Well, meteo and energetically we’re in full-on Summer glow and expression – let’s express it back out, via playfully-creative Spirit – starting with genuine self love.
  The energy shifts in the days after, and will be grounded out, as MERCURY (Aug 19) and then the SUN (Aug 22) enter VIRGO.

 

• Creative SOLar Fire is being channeled via the MOON – a conception of the NEW into creative, heartful, playful LEO expression – ruled by the SUN.
  As with every New Moon, a seed is planted ‘in the dark’, and we can’t see it sprout yet until… it does. Yet something stirs, within… The SEED of LOVE, nurtured when we live lovingly, love & know ourselves, and express Love in service to others.
  LOVE is the force in the Universe that creates – and fuels our human creativity. 

 

• As you’ll see in the chart below, there’s also rare ‘Life Experience Figure’ in the New Moon ‘birth chart’, composed of 3(! even more rare) stelliums (=more than 2 heavenly bodies together), of: The New Moon with MERCURY in LEO, LILITH / MARS / ERIS in ARIES, and JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN, all retro in CAP.
  A very dominant energy presently, cat-alyzed by the New Moon.

Old REpetitive patterns, karma, blocks and obstacles of being stuck in  societally conditioned fear, blame, (self) judgment, resentment, taking too much on, carrying too much, being the scapegoat.

Old attachments and sticky habits that prevent our true freedom.

Dropping into Unity Consciousness, in the Unified Field.

Empowered by and for Evolution.

 

Voila, here is the cosmic map of the

Late LEO (Sphinx Point) New Moon 2020

The New Moon will be exact at 7:42 pm PDT on Aug 18.

 

 

Can you see the 3 concentrations (stelliums), in late LEO, late ARIES, and late CAP – and aligned with each other in a large configuration, plus all the 6 Retro Planets?
And the FIRE Element is high!

Phewww – mirroring that there’s a lot of energy to deal with these days – mostly internally (all that retro – see above).

Let’s check out what that rare Life Experience Figure with SUN, MOON, plus 6 Planets in LEO / ARIES / CAP represents, and how we can consciously, lovingly work / align with it (a la Sphinx Point activation). 

The Swiss A.P.I. Institute where I learned Astrology many years ago (among other sources – always been eclectic and free spirited) has a cool system when it comes to Aspect Configurations – extending the usual known ones (T-square, Grand Cross, Grand Trine, Yod…) to other ones that are also synergistic energy currents / constellations between inner ‘Players’ aka Planetary Archetypes.

The Life Experience Figure (composed of a quincunx, a trine, and a square – hence occupying a large space in the chart) is one of these lesser known, ‘geeky’ and cool aspect configurations – pointing to a dynamic pattern of conflict (square) – support (trine) – processing (quincunx), or conflict (square) – transformation (quincunx) – gift (trine).
The starting point of the dynamic is either way the square where conflict has arisen.

In our present situation, we have LILITH / MARS / ERIS in late ARIES – quite a fierce, belligerent trio of Warriors who have gone rogue / are fighting with & for what’s wild and free and unconditioned / uncontrollable
vs / against / in square with
JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN all 3 retro in late CAP – obviously the 3 Titans of the ‘Old Empire’ / ‘Old Regime’ / historic patriarchal hierarchical control system that’s on its way out now.
Yet it’s also on a deeper level (another expression of retro) inner knowing, authority, responsibility, and power – what the battle is FOR.
And: lots of movement and activism that aims at defying the Brave New Orwellian Control World, and instead collaboratively (yes, the energy will move toward AQ in Dec) building the New (AR), in integrity and from the ground-up (CAP / AQ).
Yes, that heated battle is pretty obvious & omnipresent now.

MARS and SATURN are even in their own signs of ARIES and CAP, and JUPITER in Fall in CAP, and triple-activating PLUTO in 2020, showing big time where the Old with all its shadow expressions must change or die, and where we transform to sourcing power from within.
With all 3 Planets JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN presently retro (since Apr / May until Sept / Oct) and close together it’s now time to catch up with the outer changes and transform from within – then no outer conflict / war / no old battles will be needed (also an indicator of MARS going retro too in Sept) and it’s rather about bravely showing up for what’s new and emerging.
Part of a BIG, epic Life Experience – you bet.

Back to the Life Experience Figure:
If the Old is processed internally (retro Planets in CAP in quincunx to the New Moon / MERCURY in LEO) it leads to more strength & Love of Life, and to directing our energy to what serves others and society, while it gives meaning to us and makes us happy (late LEO with SAG undertone). LEO and CAP are both strong signs, equipped for leadership and excellence. And the ARIES Planets have to reason to go to war against, but be warriors and activists of the New.
And if expressed rather externally (LILITH / MARS / ERIS in ARIES in Fire Trine with the New MOON / MERCURY in LEO) it shows:
There’s SO much energy available now, to come from true loving & conscious-creative strength & self awareness which also helps transform / repurpose the old shadow and show up as the new and authentic.

 

An interesting (literally) ‘outlet’ of the Fire Trine in ARIES / LEO is the North Node in late GEMINI (double-sextiled) – opposite the South Node in late SAG (pretty exactly in the Galactic Centre now).

As mentioned, the GC SN points to old stories / beliefs / assumptions / knowing-it-all already, over which we loose energy / that don’t go anywhere, incl un-truths / lies and all-too transparent political or otherwise agenda – now to be released ‘into the Black Hole’ if you will.

The NN in late GEM (on for a while, June 2020 – Dec 2021) on the other hand gives us the incentive to question & debunk those ‘stories’ etc., rather than buying into them to enter new discussions and dialogues, learn more, and: not even believe everything we think (let alone what we’re taught to think).
All of this is helpful for us ARIES Warriors and loving & self-aware LEO Creators who’re planting new seeds now.

LEO rules the fiery Solar Plexus (just take a look at that glorious SUN Lion on the Johfra B. painting!), the Heart Chakra, and the Crown Chakra.

Whoa that year theme is very URANIAN / Promethean too!

URANUS is now in very slow ‘direct-to-retro STORM’ in August, since it turns retro on Aug 15 (until Jan 14, 2021):

LIBERATION from Within

The URANIAN Turnaround (twice a year, retro to direct – these years in January, and direct to retro – these years in Aug) is a stand-still and ‘gear shift’ in a collective (outer) and transpersonal (inner) way.

URANUS in TAU went direct last time on Jan 10 – day of the Penumbral Lunar Eclipse in CAN – CAP.
Lots of external, collectively experienced explosive, shocking wake-up calls since then, esp. related to unsettling (TAU) events round Covid and the killing of George Floyd and following BLM protests.

Now we are shifting from primarily outward experiences with URANUS to inner ‘revolution’ and awakening.

Not to say there’s a guarantee for calm waters ‘out in the world’ but the theme is more internalized.
It is also an integration of the effects from ‘external URANUS’.

The more we dedicate our energy towards embracing URANIAN Liberation from within the better aligned we are.

 
You’re FREE. Have always been.
But maybe NOW is the time to fully wake up to it.

URANUS is now stationary, and will go retro on Aug 15 at 10°42’ TAURUS.

Whoa – this central TAURUS symbol is very apropos the present ‘stormy’ URANIAN influence:
Attachment arises from the ‘me’ / ‘mine’ attitude – which of course is like a garden subject to growth / pleasure and frustration / hard work / envy of other gardens, etc… 
URANUS helps us to be liberated from those attachments – to physical possessions and to any kind of ownership.

URANUS is also the T-square catalyst of the recent AQ (ruled by URANUS)– LEO Full Moon on Aug 3 – just after the stationary energy between 10 – 11° TAU started (end of July to end of Aug).

 

A theme for the SUMMER (and beyond):

Back to Nature, to our inner nature, flying high and nesting with our Spirit tribe, yet even there, not getting too settled, and staying open to transpersonal shifts and gifts that truly liberate and change us, from the inside-out.

Dear Star Family,

Some Winters ago, I saw SIRIUS through a friend’s telescope, and felt immediately connected to the bright blue star.
SIRIUS is not only the brightest star in the constellation Canis Major, ‘the Dog’ but the brightest star in the night sky(!).

On 08 / 08, SIRIUS the Dog Star, a.k.a. The Scorcher, will rise again, before the SUN!
Hot LEO Dog Days of SUMMER (yes, named after SIRIUS) are on NOW, and we’ve had an ‘extra dose’ of scorching heat lately here in BC (Interior, I should say), and even more so elsewhere in the Northern hemisphere.

 

 

On 08/08 SIRIUS will rise again before the SUN – called the ‘Heliacal Rising’ (Helios = SUN in Greek), and 08 / 08 is also the ‘Lion’s Gate’.
The Centres of the fixed signs, TAU, LEO, SCO, and AQ – also centres of each season are Gates of Power.
With LEO it’s of course The Power of LOVE.

Walk with your Cat or / and Dog friend, (not only) under the conjunction of the SUN in LEO the Lion, with SIRIUS the Dog Star!

VENUS in CANCER (Aug 7 – Sept 6): Loving Gentleness and Care – in the Intensity and Immensity of August

Sweet Greetings, dear Cosmic Friends!

GEMINI – CANCER Cusp – a Fairy vibe

Here comes a new VENUSian infusion flavour!
After Her forever (4 months, since Apr 3!) journey in GEMINI, incl. the retro phase (May 12 – June 24) where the Inner Goddess and of our true Values could get regenerated.
It’s a good time in this transition now, for a RE-view of this process.

She’s moving over the ‘Nesting Point’ / ‘Fairy Point’ into CANCER, on Friday / FreyaDay / Vendredi / Viernes / VENUSday Aug 7 – where the Love Goddess will dwell until Sept 9 – sweet Summer vibes!

And we’re enticed to stay close to home & enjoy the beauty of our nesting land – and make home a sweeter and more beautiful place.

Have you also felt very emotional (CANCER) lately – one way or another – when hearing a certain language (GEMINI)? Clues to where / with whom we feel at home, for sure…

 

Show your love through gentleness and care, and if your feelings change like the tides dance with it.

Literally being by the water and IN the water is a big draw now, and can help ‘smooth’ us out and RELAX, after sooo much airy fairy energy, with VENUS in GEMINI, buzzing around, interested in many things… Maybe tooo many, and being overwhelmed and confused – a VENUS square NEPTUNE in PI thing – the alignment was on throughout May and end of July. Letting go is ok and brings Joy!

Now, with VENUS in CANCER we might go 2 steps forward (“yes, I’m attracted to that”), 1 step back (“let me check in how I really feel about it”), or even 2 steps back, and back off altogether from ‘ideas’ from last month that sounded good under VENUS in MERCURY ruled GEMINI.
But hey, MERCURY incl retro (June 17 – July 12) in CANCER (May 28 – Aug 4) already showed us about the fickleness of mind-emotions, and their imaginative qualities (which can be channeled well into creativity and playfulness…).

Home is where the Heart is – ever so true and important, under VENUS in CANCER!
When VENUS opposes the intense 2020 Stellium of JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN (all retro) end of CAP, from Aug 25 – Sept 2, you might feel in an all-or-nothing mode. Or fall in love in a way you never have. Or maybe something needs to deeply change, and return to what matters most?

…who has a very slow orbit and has been in ARIES for most of the 20th century – again on Oct 6 when MARS will be retro, and on Dec 22 when MARS is out of retro.
Disruptive energies – find safe active outlets, don’t take it out on each other, and start waging unnecessary wars.

 

AUG 16
Ahhh – finally, VENUS, after ‘nesting’ in CANCER for a week, is having her first transit alignment:
VENUS in CAN (after the MOON the day before) squares CHIRON retro in ARIES.
Gently tend to early wounds which might flare up again through various triggers. Find safety and nurturing within yourself.

 

AUG 17
MERCURY in LEO meets & passes the SUN – superior conjunction.
Uhhh, MERCURY aka the Mind is leading the show again (wasn’t it just MERCURY retro to help reverse that…?!).
LEO’s great for creative show time and fun yet the ego-mind can easily hijack the situation. Yes, you ARE special – and so is everyone else! 🙂

 

AUG 18
NEW MOON end of LEO – close to the Sphinx Point
New Self Awareness. Put your Creativity, Love, and Passion into Service.
VENUS in CAN in sextile with stat. / retro URANUS in TAU (ruled by VENUS).
A sweet creative energy – freedom & joy start at home – and it’s good to break those oh-so-sweet(?) habits.

 

AUG 19
MERCURY moves out of LEO and over the ‘Sphinx Point’ into VIRGO (which it rules) – for a short 2 1/2 week period until Sept 5.
Cultivating mindfulness and inner awareness. Don’t get too fuzzy and critical of self and others – fault can always be found.
Channel the energy into taking care of self esp. wellness, and organizing things… what works and is practical?
Also a great energy for school start. Yes, we are aware of what that means…

 

AUG 22
The SUN enters VIRGO
Self Awareness, and Serving from the Heart.

 

AUG 24
MARS in ARIES squares SATURN retro in CAP – both planets in their ruled signs.
Assertion / conflict and resistance? Clashing of gas and break? Go and stop?
SATURN is presently retro – forces of oooold are ending. Yet MARS also goes retro on Sept 9 – the end of old warfare.
Let’s go for what is alive, rather than putting so much energy into fighting the old.

 

AUG 25 / 27 / 30 / SEPT 2 – almost the grand finale of VENUS in CANCER.
VENUS in CAN opposes JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN, all retro end of CAP, and goes into Water Trine with NEPTUNE retro in PISCES (Aug 27).
You might feel in an all-or-nothing mode. Or fall in love in a way you never have. Or maybe something needs to deeply change, and return to what matters most? What’s a wise choice from the Heart? Stay connected, in tune with the Universe, and in open, receptive, fluid mode. Waters of Love re-shape the hard rocks of resistance.

VENUS end of CANCER in square with LILITH and stationary MARS (to go retro on Sept 9) end of ARIES.
Passionate-wild and sweet-soft energies. Good thing VENUS can help smooth out the fierce stationary MARS Warrior and wild LILITH.  And hey – also a good energy for home projects, art and creativity of all kinds – as VENUS gets ready to show up in LEO.

That’s IT – VENUS enters LEO (until Oct 2) – Show Time, Goddess Time.

MERCURY in LEO (Aug 4 – 19): Speak from the Heart. Roar as Needed. Show Yourself & Your Colours.

Greetings from the Cosmic Messenger!

Yayyy – MERCURY comes out of the Cancerian mental-emotional labyrinth that it’s been in for a reaaally long time, since May 28 – and where also the main scene of the seasonal MERCURY retro phase (June 17 – July 12) has been.

Hopefully we’ve reflected and processed how we feel about all these… (homey, domestic, family….) things – and maybe it would have been premature to put that into words… but it’s now.
MERCURY is now out of the last one of the post-retro phases – the ‘shadow’, since July 27.
Green light to communicate clearly, and be seen & heard.

On the heels of the AQ – LEO Full Moon (Aug 3) comes the next mercurial shift – and won’t go unnoticed (LEO hardly does).
The cosmic / inner Messenger & Communicator, from Aug 4 – 19 in LEO wants us to show our true colours, be confident (hopefully inner confidence grew through Cancerian nurturing self care) and expressive (after all those impressions during MERCURY incl retro in CANCER) in a joyfully-creative & playful way.

 

With MERCURY in LEO we know what we want, and let the World know.
The ‘only’ (yet potentially glaringly obvious) thing is that the Messenger Archetype is considered ‘in fall’ in LEO – while ‘exalted’ in the polar opposite vibration of AQ.
I.o.w., the mind ‘on LEO’ can get quite self absorbed – the world revolves around ME as a mental state, vs. in AQ, it can be more detached, a witness / scientist, interested in ‘the system’, group consciousness / humanity / WE rather than the Self, and from that place be co-innovative, even revolutionary.

I’m talking generically about the Astro Weather here, not about particular people with MERCURY in LEO – since it’s always a unique blend of personality ‘ingredients’ that we carry. On the other hand, it IS a good thing to self-check in if you do have MERCURY in LEO.
Plus: we’re called to go to the centre of it all, the ‘hub of the wheel’ where we’re not identified with / attached to these expressions.

Roar – perhaps up-roar? This combo can evoke unexpected / disruptive news / communicative clashes, yet is also primed for mental breakthroughs and cathartic verbal expressions round freedom from attachments. 

 

AUG 14
MERCURY in LEO goes into a double-quincunx, to JUPITER retro in CAP & NEPTUNE retro in PISCES – which makes MERCURY the apex of a rare YOD configuration.
A dynamic between standing out and being seen with / from the Heart, and purrrhaps being passive, anonymous, and ‘drowning’ in mass consciousness.
Reconciling & upleveling these energies, by being open, receptive, and in the faith & flow – inviting Life to ignite our passion from the ground up. Which can dissolve the old & heavy beliefs (like “doing things the hard way” / “pushing boulders up the mountain”…) and transmute them into being guided by grounded simplicity & integrity  – and ‘even’ bathing in Love, and releasing what you’re not anymore – with Love.

 

AUG 16 – 18
MERCURY in LEO & MARS in ARIES band together in a Fire Trine, while MERCURY forms two more quincunxes, with PLUTO retro in CAP (Aug 16) and SATURN retro in CAP (Aug 18).
And yes, MARS goes in the meantime into square with JUPITER (Aug 4), PLUTO (Aug 13) and later SATURN (Aug 24) – phewww.

…all brought out compliments MoOnday’s AQ – LEO Full MOON – in T-square with stationary (to go retro Aug 15) URANUS (Ruler of AQ) in TAURUS.
As Full Moons do – relationships, balance, and choices are coming up, and it starts / ends up with: the notion to bridge and ‘marry’ what seems polar opposite within us (what we ‘own’ / what we project, and such).

The crystal clear AQ Moon and bright hot LEO Summer Sun – what a polarity pair…!
To bless us with Love & Clarity that leads to, or rather: IS – Freedom!

 

Well, even though the Eclipse season (June 5 / 6, June 21, July 4 / 5) is over and integrating… this Full Moon is SO charged in many ways – let’s start with the URANIAN part:

A) There’s been an ‘electric’ build-up time for this FULL MOON, due to the SUN squaring URANUS (Ruler of AQ) today Aug 2, followed by the MOON in AQ – the Zodiac sign ruled by URANUS, just 2 hrs before the Full Moon. Hence, the Full Moon signature is a T-square to URANUS. Thrills, surprises, shocks, excitement, revolution, revelations…

B) On July 26, the Mayan New Year of the Blue Lunar Storm started – which has quite the Uranian signature too.

C) August is the most URANIAN month of 2020 since the Awakener Planet stations and goes retro smack in the middle – on Aug 15. In the Catholic world, that’s the date when Mother Mary’s Ascension / her re-birth in Heaven is being celebrated – also very Uranian.
URANUS brings breakthroughs and liberation, and the Full MOON in AQ can be a ‘transmitter’.

All about Liberation, with URANUS & AQ MOON.

Freedom FROM the low vibrational expressions of the LEO – AQ energies:

Reminds me of the spiritual teacher J. Krishnamurti who was born with AQ AC – looked up his birth chart.
We could use his ‘Freedom from the Known’ teaching – on so many levels. Last year I was with a friend on a personal retreat in the beautiful K-Ctre outside of Victoria. We picked ‘randomly’ some videos to watch, and in one of them Krishnamurti talks about ‘Freedom that has no opposite’ – since as long as there is an opposite (even freedom from… or freedom for) it’s not ultimate Freedom.
A liberating paradigm shift. Back to the ‘hub of the wheel’.
Same goes for Love – only Love without opposite is real Love.

 

AQ – LEO reminds me also of one of my all time favourite quotes:
“We are All Stars in the Constellation of Love!”

 

Where mid AQ (the Full Moon degree) is in your chart points to the area of life where Liberation and Co-Creation is ‘full & ripe’ now. Maybe your SUN / MOON / AC / Planets sit there?
In any case, everybody’s got a House where AQ is in.

The FULL MOON Map

Voila – the ‘birth chart’ for the exact FULL MOON time – on MoOnday Aug 3 at 8:59 am PDT, viewed from Victoria BC

 

 

SO many concentrations & tension points in the energy field – all CAT-alyzed by the AQ – LEO Full Moon!

 

• Well, there’s the AQ – LEO Full Moon herself, in T-square to stationary URANUS (to go retro on Aug 15) – that’s where the Full Moon outlet wants to be: Liberation from attachments, but even more so: EmBodying Freedom – unconditionally.

 

• The MOON passed the massive Triad aka Stellium of JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN all retro end of CAP (how beautiful that MOON – JUPITER – SATURN triangle has been in the evening sky over the last days…!) – and reaches fullness in AQ.
  Which invites visions for JUPITER & SATURN who will both also enter AQ in Dec (a big deal shift after SO much persistent CAP energy in 2020 – for SATURN since Dec 2017) and align on the first degree of AQ right at Winter Solstice, Dec 21, 2020, to start a new 20-year socio-cultural-political-economic cycle!
  This new Aquarian Revolution / Liberation has to do with a new value system, and shift from ownership & consumer capitalism oriented TAU (where URANUS is now, and where also the current JUPITER / SATURN cycle started in 2000) to collaboration and sharing in networks and communities.

 

• Whereas the LEO SUN is all about shining and showing one’s colours – yes, you ARE special and the Star, LEO – and so is everybody else! Where LEO is in our charts there’s creativity and pride and where we like to show what we got.
  Yet it’s also prone to ego attachment.
  Instead of shining for one’s Self-ie glory, how about just being the naturally creative, playful, and loving Heart-is naturally loved back?

 

• Also in fiery Trine with the LEO SUN (was exact July 31): CHIRON, these years in ARIES (until 2027) and since July 11 retro: Awakening the Inner Medicine of being authentic and courageous, starting New, and being in the NOW.

 

• Not far from CHIRON: MARS / LILITH – their union on Aug 9 is also catalyzed by the Full Moon.
  Wild and ferocious energies. Good to tune into primal energies – and give them a save outlet.
  MARS will go retro on Sept 9 – so, end of Aug to mid-Sept are very Martian in the stationary phase. Well, Aug already is, as MARS squares the Stellium of JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN, all retro in CAP, Aug 4, 13, 24.
  Clashes between the Warrior of NOW and what one ‘ought to do’? Assertion / conflict and resistance?  Clashing of gas and break? Go and stop? Acute fights against / for power?
  What’s most effective and sustaining, and calls for action now?!
  Asserting what ‘simply’ needs to be done, with deep Soul Power.
  Forces of old are ending. And, with MARS going retro on Sept 9: The end of old warfare?!
  Let’s go for / show up with what is alive, rather than putting so much energy into fighting the old.
  

 

• VENUS end of GEMINI (entering CANCER on Aug 7) comes with the North Node while the South Node is in the Galactic Centre. 
  Hoping and trusting ain’t do it – esp. if it’s based on old beliefs / stories. Better to be smart, question the agenda, and enter a new dialogue – which can be more enjoyable too.

 

• MERCURY end of CANCER (entering LEO on Aug 4), after opposing JUPITER and PLUTO – both retro – in CAP (July 30 / Aug 1) opposes SATURN retro end of CAP – exactly on the Full Moon day.
  Dealing with domestic business you’d rather avoid? How about leading with: What brings safety & security?
  Also a good / important time to talk with family, esp. elders. Time for kindness and compassion with them is precious – even though you’re busy…

 

• And OH Yes, the Super Retro Summer 2020 is ON – presently 5, soon 6 Planets retro (when URANUS goes retro on Aug 15).
  * A great time to go deeper into what’s been ‘stored away’ and ‘left behind’ on all levels.
  * A wonderful time for us introverts.
  * Good (always is) for gaining inner & spiritual perspective on the ‘outside world’.
  * A time to fully regenerate (rather than do what we’ve always done and see the same effects…).

A few Bottom Line Notes:

 

The Fixed T-square Energy

SUN / MOON / URANUS are in the fixed signs LEO – AQ – TAU.
Things can get a bit (a lot!) stuck and locked.
Watch for compulsive / controlling behaviour, and instead channel the energy into Love, Creativity, Co-creation.
The crystal clear AQ Moon helps us find our Love and / or Freedom (again?), and connect us with / in community.

 

No Time for the Old Empire

The 2020 Signature JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN, now retro, in CAP‘smells’ so much like endings, closures, esp. of the shadow / low and heavy vibration of CAP:
Doing things the hard way, resisting and judging (others and self), wasting time and energy (on exactly that, or other rock-solid ineffective / damaging patterns), being the martyr and taking too much on, or a scapegoat, being stuck in pretend security with a high price, being in guilt or scarcity mode… and getting drained by it all – you get the picture! 
Feels prob heavy even just reading…

In this huge transformation year 2020, we gotta let the ‘Old Empire’ expire.
Whatever our inner / outer ‘Old Empires’ are that had their time.
Good to check in with shadows / blind spots…
Find a way of honouring the Old for the purpose it has had, and give it a conscious farewell, a ceremony perhaps even. And / or notice how symptoms of it / people and experiences that represent it ‘just’ disappear from your life. 
Energy is freed up for new creativity.
The Universe and Nature are infinitely creative.

 

EmBodying Freedom

Our friend URANUS the Awakener, now in TAURUS (2019 – 2026) – a cosmic focus in turnaround ‘station’ throughout August (goes retro on Aug 15), shakes and wakes us up to be in the NOW. What we ’loved’ and tried to hold on to yesterday is already passé today – or we lost attachment to it. What remains – best way to be anyway – is to Live in the NOW – and to Live from and in LOVE, says LEO.
EmBodied Freedom.

I help you see how you don’t need to be unconsciously identified with them, and they don’t have to run your life. I welcome you as a client who is not seeking a ‘reading’ from me (“What’s going to happen TO me?”, “What am I supposed to do?”), but to be supported in accessing your own wisdom source, especially in times of a challenging transitions, stuckness, transformational crisis, or for perspective at a crossroad, dilemma, or empowered choices.

Our experiential and embodied Astrology groups have over time (the 15 years I’ve been facilitating workshops and classes) become quite potent and catalytic.
