Oceanic Quantum Greetings, dear Cosmic Friends!
“How can I be connected with the Quantum Field?” you may ask….
You ARE IN the Quantum Field.
That’s like a dolphin asking, ‘How can I be connected with the ocean?”
This happened yesterday!
Quite the elemental mercurial energy shift, from cool, abstract, systemic AQ – which MERCURY per se loves – to the oceanic interconnected mystical worlds of PISCES – where Love IS.
Swift, brainy, practical MERCURY isn’t traditionally ‘well placed’ in PI (considered ‘in exile’ there – “What am I doing here..?” “Where’s everything?”). But hey, that Planets-in-Dignity system is yet another matrix.
The question is rather:
What are the gifts of MERCURY in PISCES?
It doesn’t have to do so much with doing, and even ‘active thinking’.
In an interdimensional, ‘watery’ way:
Being in an open mind, flexibly-fluid, receiving messages, not letting things stick, and offering old mind-sets to be released.
The ‘usual’ straight-forward communication turns into energetic / psychic tuning in and communing with one another, as Humans, with Animals, with All of Nature, with Spirit and all that-IS, in the Web of Life.
A wonderful time for creative inspiration that’s beyond words, for music, dance, poetry, film, photography, and all Art as multi-D fusion.
And for spiritual, transcendent No-Mind realizations.
We have 8 weeks (super long for MERCURY!) to get into and used to that PISCEAN Space-of-Mind.
MERCURY will also go RETRO (Feb 16 – March 9) – mostly in PISCES, while touching back over the ‘Resonance’ Cusp into AQ at the end of the retro / turnaround phase, March 4 – 16.

When we’re at ease & connected, and allow thoughts to come and go (MERCURY in PI) and the ‘randomness’ of Life (URANUS) to happen we ARE in Freedom-that-IS.
The mind would be the first one to take us out again, by…. well, all that distracts us from the present moment. That’s where the M-r gifts of mindfulness (rather than having the mind overwhelmingly full) and re-treating from the busy, bossy, buzzing, overwhelming information world (esp. in the PISCES ruled media) come in.
We probably need this time for re-generation.
The process has already started in the MERCURY connections during the pre-retro phase.

Almost all in PISCES this time (from 12°53′ PI back to 28°13′ AQ), from Feb 16 – March 9. Going back to the very end of AQ / cusp to PISCES – the ‘Resonance Point’.
A mercurial surfing in the ‘cosmic waters’ of PISCES…
Those of you who’ve read my MERCURY retro support REport (or even advocacy) over the years know:
M-r isn’t necessarily ‘BAD’ news, as pop / cliche Astrology would have it.
And hey – perhaps M-r is ‘even’ an overdue and cosmically well timed de-conditioning!
In a nutshell, with M-r, the Archetype of the MIND is operating differently / ‘unusually’, and tuned-up into a ‘New MERCURY’ (hey, what’s that???).
Have you noticed?
We’re already in the build-up (or rather: slow-down) phase!
Our good old messenger / trickster friend MERCURY has since Feb 2 been in the pre-retro ‘shadow’ (i.o.w., crossed the 28° AQ mark from which it will go direct again on March 9, at the end o the M-r phase).
From Feb 13 on, MERCURY will be in stationary (very slowly moving) ‘U-turn storm’.
And on Feb 16, MERCURY will ‘officially’ start its seasonal retro loop which goes technically until March 9, and rolls out completely until and of March.
Take it easy on planning for the Spring break or other events, and on getting wrapped up in ‘loops’ that are directed by mental over-identification. It’s a good time to chill, go on a RE-treat and RE-laxation, a la PISCES, and to catch up with friends, and with lost & forgotten creative projects.
As MERCURY goes retro in PISCES the energy turns inward-backward to RE-connect with and from the NO-mind and with Being (PI) rather than operate in the regular doing / fixing / thinking mode (MERCURY rules VIRGO and GEMINI).
Also, everything PISCEAN is brought to conscious awareness, to be questioned, so that instead of the Mind running the show it can go on the back seat again – and serve Consciousness:

PISCES is about letting go and letting it BE.
Space is being created where there’s no agenda, rather natural loving acceptance without judgement or resistance – and things can take a turn or run their course, just like a wave.

What’s special about this MERCURY Retro in PISCES?
The PISCES motto (ruled by NEPTUNE – which has been in PI since 2012 – until 2026) motto is: “All is ONE.”
PISCES is the energy before the Spring Equinox where Winter and the old Zodiac cycle are ‘washing away’ and ‘dissolving’, so that a fresh cycle can start. Symbolically, it’s the energy of everything coming together in a ‘grand finale’ where endings and surrender makes space for the new.
Shadow expressions of PISCES which may come out via the mind now, with MERCURY retro in PI – to be met with pure SoUlar Consciousness:
Overwhelm, confusion, co-dependency, addictions. Yes, it ‘all comes together’ in these phenomena too but in a way where we don’t let go… or we might feel like the victim (and bonded in that state).
The ‘job’ of MERCURY retro in PISCES is to catch the mind getting carried away with delusions, or illusions that it ‘sells us’ as ‘the real thing’. PISCES can be excellent at camouflaging, masking, pretending.
Synchronistically, this M-r goes over the Carnival weekend, and Mardi Gras (Feb 22 – 25)!
As ‘usual’, M-r RE-attunes the ego driven mind (which tells us there’s ‘never enough connection’) to be the assistant and tool to Spirit and the Heart (which is intrinsically fulfilled).
Being aware of the mental tricks is the first step into true Oneness (PISCES).
Yes, this M-r affects whatever you have positioned end of AQ to mid-PI (SUN, MOON, Planets, Nodes, AC / MC), and it shows up in the area of life related to the AQ / PI House/s in your chart to bring their themes to your awareness – to RE-attune.

This time around, I felt called to look up the Symbol for the degree MERCURY goes back to in its retro journey.
Which will be technically 28°13′ AQ – not quite 28°.
Therefore 29° is the point MERCURY touches 3 times:
Crossing it forward (Feb 2), and stationing on it in backward-forward mode (March 6 – 14).
AQUARIUS 29°:
“A BUTTERFLY EMERGING FROM A CHRYSALIS.
KEYNOTE: The capacity to utterly transform the character of one’s consciousness by radically altering the structural patterns of everyday living and the types of relationships one enters upon.
This is the second time within a very short span of the cycle that the butterfly symbol appears (cf. AQ 25°). Here what is emphasized is the process of metamorphosis itself. - Pre-retro shadow – started Feb 2. MERCURY in the Epimethean phase.
- Pre-retro stationary / ‘storm’ – starts Feb 13.
- MERCURY technically retro – from Feb 16 on.
- MERCURY meets half-way in retro the SUN – a ‘New MERCURY’ is born, a.k.a. ‘Point of Enlightening Insight’ – on Feb 25 – Promethean phase starts.
- MERCURY direct again – on March 9.
- Post-retro stationary / ‘storm’ ends – on March 19.
- Post-retro shadow – until March 30.
The first half of M-r (phases 1. – 4.) is the Epimethean phase. RE-minding us of ‘old stories’ – which doesn’t have to be a ‘bad thing’ to overcome, it can be an important RE-flection inducer ;-).
And, as always, we learn so much from history / herstory.
The second half of M-r (phases 4. – 8.) is the Promethean phase – where the new insights and connection with Spirit and Consciousness can lead to new inspired direction – a very auspicious time.
MERCURY went into so-called pre-retro ‘shadow’ on Feb 2: It passed for the first time the Zodiac point (28° AQ) from which it will after the retro phase go direct / forward again on March 9.
Noticing ‘foreshadowing’ themes since then of what might come up during M-r?
A good time to be fluid as quicksilver, RE-sponsive to higher intelligence, and to trust the ‘messenger from the future’, via intuition and precognition.
Perhaps you’re already having clarifying heartfelt communication and contemplation around ‘neglected’ AQ / PISCES related themes (vibes, resonance with people, places, energies in the ‘field’).
MERCURY Retro in the Starters
On Feb 13, MERCURY enters its stationary ‘storm’ period (moves very slowly), i.o.w., starts to go into ‘U-turn’ mode.
A time to also slow down the regular fast and busy mind that likes to multi talk / task.
‘Regular’ communication affairs might start to become ‘tricky’, ‘chaotic’, ‘complicated’ and ‘messed up’, but only from the perspective of the ego that likes to seize control via the mind.
MERCURY in ‘zigzag mode’ suggests being in flux and at ease, while swiftly and swimmingly / surfingly, changing course (PISCES can do that!) as necessary. Ironically, it can lead to a more auspicious outcome than the ‘on dead-end course’ that the mind assumed is ‘the way’.

FEB 16 – MARCH 9,
the mind is geared to turn inward-backward and moves may be paradoxical, like in a labyrinth.
As always, the MERCURY retro cycle starts with the ‘Epimethean’ phase (first half – until Feb 25) where old (epic) stories, memories, and patterns show up for REasons yet unknown, REvealing themselves in the journey.
With the PISCES energy of M-r, it’s good to stay in an easy-going, adaptable mode, invite unexpected insights, a world of randomness & synchronicities, look at things again, in a fresh way, and: get retro-actively inspired (by the past, by something overlooked).
At the half-way point of the M-r phase (Feb 25 this time), MERCURY crosses paths with the SUN: A new ‘New MERCURY’ (like a New Moon in the monthly SUN – MOON conjunction) is born – which happens 3 times a year.
It’s time to REgenerate the mind (MERCURY), become more conscious, led by Spirit and the Heart (SUN), and let the mind follow.
It is also called the ‘Point of Enlightened Insight’.
The second half of M-r (Feb 25 – March 9) is the ‘Promethean’ phase, where new insights and new Consciousness can be more easily creatively carried forward and implemented.
Here’s to a bright, liberating, and relaxed energy for break-throughs into more Freedom – from mental patterns, for a whole new way of showing up and being present with what IS, and simply:

Timeless and Timely MERCURY Retro REminders
Under M-r., ‘usual’ thinking and communication patterns are being questioned, and it appears at times as if there was a trickster / little devil at play.
Actually, we have a chance now to see the inner mental trickster that’s been there all along, camouflaging and going unnoticed. The challenge is not to get frustrated when things don’t turn out the way YOU thought they ’should’, according to the ego.
During M-r, experiment with, practice, and hopefully also integrate for later going with the flow of things in an intuitive way, and taking everything as a learning & letting go experience (so M-r in PISCES also).
That might mean changing your mind when you get the impulse / signal / intuition for an alternative course, being open to and curious about ‘detours’ that might lead to unexpected turns, and making unusual connections, rather than going with comfort, routine, habits, and fixed plans.
Rather than getting wrapped up with linear, habitual, and often self-limiting ways of dealing with information and communication channels and modes, an ‘unorthodox’ approach can open you up for serendipity, synchronicities, and lots of fun.

Another REminder for MERCURY retro in PI:
What and how we think changes our vibration and how we see and respond to our environment. We continuously project our beliefs and expectations onto the ‘outside’ world, and filter the information that comes in with our bias. Our mind is like a net in that sense…
Time to open up to the vastness that IS.
The mind is actually just energy – influenced by, and interweb’ed with the ‘environment’ – which in a deeper sense is a projection, while there’s just the ONE.
Time to tune into this deeper…
On a more ‘practical’ level, in a PISCEAN way let’s ask ourselves (M-r):
“How can I get out of the busy mind now, and shift my focus to Openness, Love and Compassion?”
The guidance reveals itself with the question…
Let’s stay as mobile (like quicksilver, the MERCURY metal), adaptable, and unattached to ‘plans’ / agenda as possible, to be able to surf Mercurial waves when the wind comes up.
MERCURY is a very light, youthful, fresh, fun-loving punster and Coyote / prankster energy.
It looks at the fun and also meaningful side of unusual twists and turns, and even likes to evoke those. Aligning with that mode makes us happier and more at ease (PISCEAN) – not only – these days.
Bring on these spontaneous twists, unintentional new-found puns, and fun realizations!
While being mindfully present and clear.
When it comes to committing to something long-term consider that it might not be ready to be definite yet. Yet you can make a choice to be in a vibration that attracts the perfect match that you easily recognize and connect with.
Give yourself time. During M-r always new information streams in which can alter our outlook on things. Often, after the M-r phase we have more information that gives a different picture, based upon which a choice makes most sense.
If we did commit prematurely and aren’t flexible to back off again easily, we might say, “Oh, if I only had known… I wouldn’t have changed course… and didn’t have to untangle complications.”
As always with MERCURY retro, clarify communication whenever possible:
- Say things several times in a different way / language to make sure there’s no misunderstanding in a fast / distracted context.
- Ask questions that intuitively come to mind (which might clarify an otherwise held assumption!).
- Choose the most direct medium and tool available (meet and connect in person or at least via online video call rather than over the phone, or email / message), which helps with a clearer and more holistic communication, because more ‘channels’ are involved and signals are conveyed in person rather than on the phone, or via mutual messaging / e-monologue.
And who knows what else might come up and be addressed as you take the opportunity to actually meet and talk?
If you become mercurially frustrated, maybe it’s because you needed to learn something about the nature of the human mind and its extensions as in: technological equipment which now, more than usually, seem to have ‘a mind of their own.
Consider that computers, phones, and tech gadgets are servants and tools, and that their efficiency also depends on the (hopefully relaxed and detached, savvy and inventive) mind of their ‘master’. You don’t want to become a stressed-out slave of coordination and communication.
Well, on that note, with M-r in PISCES it can become more obvious than ever how addicted to technological communication tools & media we’ve become. Can you give yourself a sabbatical – can you? Not asking for the 3 weeks of M-r – who could do that anymore, nowadays???! But how about one day per week?
It might also become apparent during M-r that our tools and pieces of technical equipment magically morphically mirror the mind WE are in, even ‘simply’ by breaking down and being ‘on strike’ when we humans need ‘a break’ anyway.
Give your tools and tasks proper mindful and single-minded attention, one at a time, instead of attempting to multi task and ‘efficiently’ orchestrate everything simultaneously.
The electromagnetic field of computers and the human mind dialogue in an interface. To keep it all smoothly operational, don’t impose any potential extra stress onto your nervous system nor on your computer.
Notice signals showing you need to be relaxed and mindful, assume nothing, drop your (under M-r evident, otherwise hidden) expectations and assumptions.
Foremost, trust the infinite Intelligence of the Universe (so M-r in PISCES), ‘even’ as it might take you on wild and ‘crazy’ journeys that you apparently haven’t signed up for.
Under M-r talk to people from the past who come to mind and whom you haven’t heard from in a long time (or new people whom you have just met and intuitively ‘clicked with’).
M-r also tends to bring back unfinished communication business from the past, esp. from previous M-r phases (last one in SCO end of Oct to end of Nov 2019).

Back to Basics & Buddhists:
Be mindful, and observe the phenomenon mind from a ‘meta’ level.
Like, by asking yourself:
Why am I really saying this?
Who’s the one thinking and talking here?
If we don’t do that ‘mental hygiene’ from time to time our subconscious, disguised as M-r, out tricks us, subconsciously ‘sabotaging’ our plans, and constellating circumstances that make us back off from our mental concept, and check what we’ve been doing with our brain – or rather, what the brain has been doing with us all along.
The Buddhists call the day-to-day mind that busies itself with all kinds of ‘chatting’ and inner stories, lists, and dialogues, the ‘Monkey Mind’ which, like a monkey, jumps from one tree (of interest and attachment) to the next, and is never quiet, unless we observe the movement, and thereby naturally calm it.
My Seasoned MERCURY Retro Tips & Seasonal Tool Kit

1) Be easy on yourself, as you get into the groove of things.
It usually takes a week or so to adjust to the different mode.
Hopefully, you’re taking it easy on the pre-retro shadow phase (since Feb 2), rather than being ‘pulled into’ the wild ‘storm’ (from Feb 13 on), or (of course only apparent) stationary stuckness (can be either and both, in paradoxical trickster fashion).
2) Be mindful, and lead from what’s here-now.
There’s a tendency for the mind to be distracted and all over the place (esp. with MERCURY in PI), to loose and misplace things and thoughts that later have to be RE-trieved again.
Avoid getting scattered and disorganized, collect the mind ‘pieces’, be present with any situation and function ‘at hand’, and don’t loose sight of what practically works and matters. The apparent priority of urgent ‘little’ things and ‘small stuff’ can easily be a distraction and waste of energy.
Practice coming back to the Here-NOW.
3) Retro is an inwards / backwards oriented energy.
Would be a good time to RE-treat, and RE-visit meditation and mindfulness.
Also an excellent chance (if not necessity) to deal with ‘old unfinished business’, ‘loose ends’, and to clear communication themes from the past, often carried over from a previous M-r time (last one end of Oct to end of Nov 2019).
4) Every M-r phase is a great time to actively pursue basically everything that starts with ‘RE-‘, esp. RE-sidual communication.
Like: re-assess, re-align, read, re-treat, re-pair, re-boot, re-group, re-consider, re-arrange, re-place, you name it…
One RE-ason for me pointing out all these RE-activities:
During M-r (which also has a karmic undertone), we less likely get away anymore with being sloppy, and with procrastinating or neglecting RE-sidual communication issues with people from the past. They come up like a mirror. Talk about what RE-ally matters, relax and connect, a la PISCES.
5) Choose the clearest and most direct mode of communication available.
Phone rather than messaging / email. Meet and connect in person rather than via phone / text, to make sure an actual dialogue happens (rather than just your factual monologue, with the assumption you know what they think, or they know what you think).
Consider communicating in several ways and via different media, to make sure the message comes across. Keep in mind that because people’s minds can be all over the place now, communication might be scattered and incomplete, or prone to assumptions: “I thought you got my email!!!”, or actually a monologue: Are you just thinking out loud as you talk, or are you actually suggesting something to me?
6) Be mindful how you communicate with others.
Put yourself in their position, and take ownership and responsibility for your mental processes, rather than blaming and judging or feeling victimizes a la PISCES (possibly based on lack of communication).
7) Be clear and precise with commitments and agreements.
Double check whether you have been understood correctly, and RE-peat / RE-phrase back to them too. Avoid signing an agreement before you have all the necessary information (often only after MERCURY retro is over, or at least half-way, meeting the SUN = Feb 25).
8) MERCURY Retro RE-minds us…
…that direct connection with another as an authentic and lively dialogue opens up the opportunity to meander and touch on other subjects than the originally intended purpose of the communication. Which can eventually lead to an even more important outcome or direction than anticipated. Check out in hindsight why you actually needed to talk to that person…
9) Under M-r, the odds for fabulous unexpected synchronicities are 99%:
As we act more intuitively and out of the ordinary, we let the spontaneous intervention of the Universe show us our interconnectedness! Way cool and fun! And soooo PISCEAN.
10) M-r is a good time to RE-connect with people you have lost sight of.
With the PISCES flavour, re-connect with people = and other Beings! – whom you easily, naturally resonate with. In any case, trust your intuition, and let yourself be surprised by what shows up when you speak to them.
11) The themes and areas of life (partners, children, career, groups, etc.) that THIS retro phase brings up for YOU…
…depend on the Planet/s and House/s that M-r activates in YOUR personal birth chart, in other words where late AQ to mid-PISCES is situated.
I’m happy to check that out for and WITH you – either in a quick hint, or in a focused (or longer) session at this occasion if more is going on for you at this time.
12) When ‘glitches’ occur, be fluid and flexible like quicksilver (MERCURY’s metal), think “shift happens”.
Don’t judge yourself or others for not being on the same page as you, and turn the paradigm around:
What could be the opportunity in this mishap? And what’s actually funny about this?
RE-frame your way of thinking about things. And entertain the possibility that you might have subconsciously ‘arranged’ a wild alternative to the original ‘plan A’ which – who knows? – might lead to something new and better and more fun than what the ‘normal’, ‘usual’, ‘regular’, and apparently most ‘efficient’ mind-in-rut-mode could have come up with?
13) Enjoy those unintentional puns, slips, and new connections in the mind, be creative and brainstorm – esp. together with your MERCURY Retro Friends 😉
