Well, first of – the symbol itself is part of a cultural-historic context – Dane Rudhyar wrote the commentary in 1973… when the Hippie movement was well established around the world, and perhaps already fading. In the meantime, it has morphed into other social-aesthetic expressions, and currently traces can be seen / are exploited by ‘Vintage’ and ‘Boho’, even though, Hippie was about so much more… Here’s an interesting article I found that describes the origins of, and differences between Hippie and Boho.
Anyhowwww. So true, and again relevant in our times: Social values are relevant, and an expression of the Zeitgeist. In this ueber tech & ‘progress’ greedy time, fed by the bio-tech-info-corporate complex, feeding into people’s ego / show-off notions and convenience / ‘comfort’ (LEO – TAU), it’s revolutionary to be a Luddite.
With URANUS now in TAU, and SATURN in AQ, we’re in a big shift of social values, these years.
Rather than being subservient to trends in fashion, morals, or otherwise dictates of the Zeitgeist, or reacting against them, the question in the LEO (what is LOVE?) – TAU (what gives JOY?) tension is, and given the fact that individual self expression (LEO) and genuine, organic enjoyment (TAU) have been disrupted (URANUS in TAU since 2019) in the last years:
What are innovative & creative ways of bringing them back?
And how do we show up (in the) NOW, as ourselves, for ourselves, take initiative, and start fresh (JUPITER in ARIES)?

JUPITER is now (since May 10) for its first phase in ARIES. Until Oct 27 – more to come, as the Big One goes fully through the Warrior / Initiator sign from Dec 20 on, until May 17, 2023. And we’ve been bombarded with upsetting news (even if you’re not on the standard media, exposure seems inescapable). While the war in / on Ukraine that started end of Feb and “was meant to be over quickly” goes on and on.
We’re at the onset of radically new & unprecedented times. What are opportunities in this?, asks JUPITER.
JUPITER turns into a ‘VIP’ (Very Important Planet) now, in its U-turn focus, following CHIRON in ARIES (already since 2019), which has this month also been a focal point, as it just did its direct-to-retro ‘U-turn’ on July 19: Up to each one of us to find the intrinsic Warrior Medicine of Authenticity & Presence, in a world of chaos, confusion, division, and battle grounds on so many ‘fronts’. To show up as, and for ourselves, start from within, while healing old & early wounds.
Phew – what a wild new world we’re in!
Thankfully, more Planets are going retro now (peaking in Sept with up to SEVEN).

Have you seen the Giant (as a tiny bright dot), in the night sky these weeks, rising on the Eastern Ecliptic in the late evening hours? Visible earlier and earlier in the next months… JUPITER was beautifully accentuated by the Half-Moon, on July 18.
JUPITER’s ‘Eastern Blessing’ is with us, these months every night. If you’d like to be perfectly aligned, send out prayers, blessings, wishes, offer gratitude, while ‘under JUPITER’!
Esp. this very JUPITERian Turnaround phase of end of July / early Aug, and more specifically: On July 28.
Where IS JUPITER exactly now, astrologically?
Since its entry into ARIES on May 10, it moves up to 8°43′ AR (check out the Sabian Symbol for that degree below!) where it goes retro tomorrow, July 28. And from there once more back to late PISCES (from Oct 27 on) – back to 28°48′ PI – grazing another wide conjunction with NEPTUNE (their exact alignment was on April 12).
Interestingly, early ARIES (first 10 degrees) is double-ARIES, and double PISCES (last 10 degrees) is double PISCES. SO much about letting go of the old, and letting the new arise. Like Trees do.
2022 is such a transition year, with JUPITER cruising forth and back and forth on the PI – AR ‘Emergence Point’, in 2022. Big time transition vibes. We’re on the brink of a New World, New Spring, New Life.
The PI – AR cusp can also bring out survival stress. The trick is to come out of our perhaps inundated, overwhelmed, escapist, passive PISCEAN mode, and step into action! One Baby Step at a time, says ARIES, and trial & error is ok too.
With JUPITER now going retro on the ARIES side of the ‘Emergence Point’ & back to PI we’re getting lots of opportunities to better understand, see revealed, experience, grow from, and outgrow the cuspy ‘spectrum’ of these themes:
Emergency (AR) arising from chaos (PI)
Multi-layered, inter-connected & convoluted dynamics (PI) lead to war (AR)
Survivor energy (old trauma / new experiences)
Themes of the old & ending collectivity oriented PISCES Age amplified & revealed, leading to more individuality (AR) – or: isolation
So much confusion / chaos / deception / media inundation (PI) – and the understanding / outgrowing (JUPITER) of it leads to coming out of the ‘dream spell’, in presence with what IS.
Ultimate trust (JUPITER) and faith (PI) in completely uncertain & ‘chaotic’ times engenders courage & new beginnings (AR)

As mentioned, JUPITER starts its retro journey from the farthest degree it’ll reach this year, 8°43′ AR, on July 28 – just 2 1/2 hrs after the LEO New Moon. Let’s take 9° since JUPITER hangs out stationary between 8 – 9° AR early July to mid-Aug(!):

JUPITER ends its retro journey from 28°48′ PIon Nov 23 – just 5 min after the SAG New Moon. Here’s the Sabian Symbol for the second-last degree in the Zodiac:

So cool – the sphere and the prism. The arch from understanding Wholeness to Differentiation…. All an expression of the ONE. If this ‘beautiful paradox’ of complementary ‘opposites’ is seen, as a guiding perspective (JUPITER), and as a lens for looking at life, it can help in so many ways. We may find ourselves trapped in a situation, through the way we look at it. JUPITER retro can help us outgrow this, through a different seeing, motivated from within, and growth / outgrowing the old, opening up for new opportunities.

What’s beautifully striking about this phase: Two New Moons, in early LEO (with ARIES undertone!) on July 28 & in early SAG (also with ARIES undertone!), on Nov 23, frame JUPITER’s station retro & direct!

Eclipse (with the Lunar North Node)! – in TAU (with URANUS!) – SCO on Nov 8 (the DAY of the U.S. midterm elections!). Together with the U.S. PLUTO Return this year, an indicator for a powerful phase for the country – and for the World. Get ready for an intense and game changing Fall.
‘Self Existing’ reminds me of ARIES where JUPITER (until Oct 27, and from Dec 20 on) and CHIRON are now, both in slow ‘U-turn’ during the Mayan New Year, since: CHIRON turned retro on July 19, JUPITER will turn retro on July 28.

It’s a CHIRON-ic month of July, dear Astro~News Reader!
In the middle of the month, on July 19, Shamanic Healer / Teacher and Archetype of all things medical, CHIRON, now in mid-ARIES, goes into its yearly 5-months retro ‘retreat’ – to help us source the Medicine from within.
CHIRON crossed over the Spring Equinox a.k.a. ‘Emergence’ Point on Feb 18, 2019, and soon enough what what came up, fast & furiously, a la ARIES: Survival mode, precedents and new paradigms, and so many battles fought in the medically induced arena. Also: The established Medicine has turned into a ‘war medicine’ (war on…. Cancer, Virus, you name it) while the ever-so influential pharma industry supplies the ‘weapons’, for better or worse. Maybe a whole new era in the medical fieldemerges from this current battlefield.
Being authentic, present and in the moment – always fresh,
Activating the Warrior Spirit (ARIES is ruled by MARS) – yet not an aggressive, wounding / wounded / destructive warrior, but in assertion of the life force,
Showing up for life, and for ourselves (it starts with YOU, you’re naturally # 1 in your life), and:

How have you been dealing with these themes in the last more than 3 years, since CHIRON’s been in ARIES?
2020, the first full year with CHIRON in ARIES (plus: Chinese Year of the Yang METAL RAT), and with a massive CAP concentration, was so turbulent & unprecedented, esp. when it comes to the (established) medical field, which has shown: It’s a ‘war medicine’ with a competitive spirit. Humanity got alerted and agitated (ARIES), via relentless and addictive (get your dopamine hit!) media (PI) bombardment (AR). Hardly healing. Stress and fear compromise the immune system.
In 2020/21, the world-wide immunization program has been rushed, in ‘warp speed’. Also very apropos CHIRON in ARIES.
Alertness, survival modes, new medical precedents and procedures, and many battlegrounds, physically, mentally, emotionally. “You’re by yourself, and need to fend for yourself.” Division leads to war.
How can the Warrior Spirit be healing, and when is it re-wounding?
CHIRON in ARIES (2019 – 2027) teaches us about Warrior Medicine.
In the Canadian Spring / early Summer 2021:
Besides the Canadian involvement in the worldwide medical emergency mode, other (new-not-new) historic battles were fought in the country, its psyche, and its First (ARIES) People.
Brave Young (as well as Elder) Warriors showed up & stood up for the last Ancient Foreststhat are being sacrificed on the altar of greedy neo-colonial exploitational capitalism. Time to act & protect is NOW.
A fuller picture of systemic kidnapping &abuse of Indigenous Children in residential colonial re-education schools, institutionalized by the colonial government in alliance with the churches, came publicly to light, as thousands of children’s bodily remains were discovered (via ground penetrating radar scans) in former residential schools in Kamloops and other locations. What a euphemism the term ‘residential schools’ even is, for state-religious re-education camps where harsh conditions and abuse were institutionalized, via oh-so ‘christian educators’. Clearly, the trauma of ‘residential school’ survivors was re-ignited, hopefully to be healed (CHIRON), while the outrageous acts have to be called out (ARIES). Indigenous Healing is also apropos CHIRON in ARIES (2019 – 2027).
In the Canadian & worldwide Winter / Spring 2022:
In Jan / Feb 2022, round the AQ New Moon (Feb 1) likely the largest-ever protest in Canada, initiated by a rolling movement of trucker warriors, to assert constitutional rights and freedoms for ALL, was squashed by a narcissistic still-PM who wasn’t available to listen to the truckers, instead dismissed & targeted them and all who sympathized / donated funds, with name calling, threats, invoked / revoked within days the Emergency (ARIES) Act, inciting more division among the Canadian population. This still-PM (* Dec 24, 1971) is currently undergoing his CHIRON Return (round age 50). CHIRON is now also reaching the AC & NEPTUNE at 15 / 16° ARof Canada’s Federation chart of 1867 – 3rd CHIRON Return, and first time in 50 years – exact in 2022 / 23. There’ll be likely more old / original wounds emerging of the country’s coming into being… such a Time for Healing!
And the – global, escalated, and violent – act of division: The still on-going war in Ukraine (since the Russian invasion end of Feb 2022) that was ‘expected’ to be a short ‘episode’, and all its tragic consequences. More CHIRON in ARIES wounds of war…
Let’s glean guidance from the symbol associated to the Zodiac degree where CHIRON changes direction, and stations this month of July.
CHIRON turns retro at 16°26′ ARIES – not reaching 17° (until 2023)but going back to 16° where it’ll be stationary in August. So let’s look at the symbol for 16°.

KEYNOTE Attunement to the potency of invisible forces of nature
In the light of personal fulfillment (symbol of sunset and wisdom), humans may be able to establish a life-giving contact with natural forces. These are active any time growth processes take place, but the individualized human mind is usually too focused on working for consciously set goals to be able to realize concretely the presence of invisible (or ‘occult’) forces in operation. These forces constitute a specific realm of any planetary life. They are inherent in all biospheres, on whatever planet. They are non-individualized and un-free energies forming in the substratum of all life processes – thus of the process of integration at the level of the planet-as-a-whole, i.e. the planet as an organism with its automatic systems of growth, maintenance and organic multiplication. In this planetary organism, those nature forces act as guiding and balancing-harmonizing factors – somewhat as the endocrine system does in a human body, and behind this system the more occult web of chakra energies related to prana – the solar energy. It is when this energy becomes less dominant – thus symbolically at sunset – or when the body energy is weakened by illness, fasting or sensory deprivation, that it becomes easier to perceive these ‘nature spirits’, and to give them forms that symbolize the character of their activities. These forms differ with the cultural imagery of each human collectivity, retaining nevertheless some basically similar characteristics.
When this Sabian Symbol reaches into one’s consciousness seeking meaning, it should be seen as an invitation to open the mind to the possibility of approaching life in a holistic and non-rational, intuitive manner.
This is the first stage of the fourth five-fold sequence of cyclic phases. It implies a call to REPOTENTIALIZATION. What this means also is the process of ‘becoming like a little child’.”
Love it! When we open our minds and hearts, we embrace the magical, unifying & connective Medicine-in-Nature. Antidote to the ‘modern illness’ / CHIRON ‘wound’ of division and strive – the price of individualization.
CHIRON will approach ERIS, Archetype of strive and division, in ARIES. ERIS has a highly elliptical orbit that takes her 558 years around the SUN – more than twice as long as far-out PLUTO (248 years). She’s been in ARIES for a super long time, since 1922, until 2040 –for the entire life time of most humans alive. ERIS’s Archetype shows also how ‘small things’ can lead to major discord / conflicts.
May CHIRON now in ARIES, approaching ERIS (building up to be exact in 2025), help with healing what makes war possible!
In essence: Synchronization and synergy in Nature teach us the ‘New’ (not-so-new yet always renewing) Medicine. Yet another invitation / sign post / alert for us humans, to honour, and respectfully work with Nature, natural rhythms and laws – and tap into the magic of it.
CHIRON the Wounded Healer & Teacher Archetype brings up Old Wounds
To heal it we have to feel it.
Medicine is not a one-fits-all fix / band-aid but emerges from our specific woundedness. Therapy is a process. Can’t rush (ARIES) Nature. Things need to integrate and ‘compost’ to heal from the inside-out – that’s what CHIRON retro will show us more about. The teachings that emerge in the process are gifts for healing / understanding.

Full Circle CHIRON in ARIES
The last time CHIRON was in ARIES (like presently, also for a long time, almost 9 years): Apr – Oct 1968, and Feb 1969 – March 1977.
A lot of fierce fights and precedents happened in those years historically: Mass protests in Prague 1968, leading to relative liberation, Woodstock in Aug 1969, Moon landing in July 1969, start of the environmental movement in the 1970’s…
Those of you born in those years carry the Medicine of the Warrior. The Medicine of renewal & fresh beginnings, yet healing of early / survival wounds is a big theme for you as well – leading you to emerge with New Medicine that comes from within, is authentic and unique.

Yet, what the heck? says ARIES, It’s my life, this is ME. ARIES is a Warrior / Survivor. All about the NOW.

Time for fresh beginnings – or for simply being present with what’s always NEW.
Show up in a new way, try out what you haven’t before, not in a long time, or don’t have a ‘model’ or comparison for.
If it ‘doesn’t work’ try something else (ARIES doesn’t mind starting anew). The essence of being innovative.
Anger (an ARIES expression) can be your vulnerability (incl. passive-aggressive modes if anger isn’t / wasn’t ok) yet also guide you to your Medicine.

CHIRON Retro ‘Syndromes’
With CHIRON going retro (each year for 5 months, these years July – Dec) we’re called to go backward to trace early wounds (ARIES relates to the beginning of Life – even literally Baby stage) that we might have internalized. And to find the Medicine that meets those wounds.
Examples:
Feeling left alone – being all by yourself
Needing to assert yourself to be noticed
Being in an aggressive-stressful environment – possibly experienced like a ‘war zone’
Being with a family / parent who’s all new to parenting and ‘makes it up as s/he goes’ – which can of course be stressful for the baby.
This is the month (with stationary CHIRON) to meet and kindly-lovingly-compassionately (CANCER season, MERCURY now in CAN, and VENUS entering CANCER on July 17) dialogue with the ‘early YOU’.

With VENUS entering CANCER where LILITH has evoked our Wild & Unconditioned Side over the last 3 months we can soften, show our love through gentleness and care, and, if our feelings change like the tides, dance with it, wildly-naturally.
Literally being by the water and IN the water is a big draw now, and can help ‘smooth’ us out and RELAX, after sooo much swirling energy, with VENUS in GEMINI, buzzing around, interested in / attracted to sooo many things…
Maybe tooo many, rendering us overwhelmed and confused – one way of experiencing the VENUS square NEPTUNE in PI – exact on July 13, the day of the Full Moon. Letting go is ok, brings Joy, and brings us back to Love. Things can be so (apparently) paradoxical, in the spiritual realm….
With VENUS in CANCER, we might go two steps forward (“yes, I’m attracted to that”), one step back (“let me check in how I really feel about it”). Or even two steps back, and back off altogether from ‘ideas’ from last month that sounded good under VENUS in MERCURY ruled GEMINI.

Thunder Moonof July Not likely thundery here on the Coast, but of course in other inland zones of the Northern Hemisphere.
Yet energetically, a thunder & lightning vibe is ON, this July / August: ‘Deep Pluto rumble’, activated by the SuperMoon. Surprising ‘electric’ flashes of lightning, accelerating as MARS in TAU approaches URANUS & the North Node (their exact alignment – yes, all 3 of them – will be on Aug 1).
And – most well-known: The July Full Moon is called the Buck Moon, as bucks’ antlers are at this time of the year emerging and growing.
The young buck’s – and his sister’s (not in this picture) – appearance in the park in broad daylight surprised me. As I was tuning in and offering no-harm curiosity yet respect he let me come quite close while munching, and posing.

The CAP – CAN axis is about safety and security issues. About tending to feelings & needs (CAN) while being resilient, resourceful, incl. going for less-is-more / voluntary simplicity, and showing up maturely, in authority, and with our best (CAP). The notion of parenting, and re-parenting ourselves is important in this tension field.
How can we create a balanced relationship between these apparently opposing orientations?
CANCER Safety, as in: being gentle, compassionate, nurturing & tending to our own and others’ needs, to the family, tribe, finding belonging, going with rhythms & cycles, protecting Nature and our loved & little ones with loving care.
CAP Security, as in: being mature and in rock-solid integrity, accepting / stepping into leadership / leading by example, not giving authority and responsibility away but owning & living up to them – work in progress, working with priorities, resiliently, respectfully, using time & resources well, being the ones we’ve looked up to, and the experienced Elders.
I felt called to create this contrast table of CANCER and CAP for you, since the themes are up with the Full MOON. Of course there’s so much more to it, but hopefully a starter kit to tune into, and reconcile the polarities.
The two sides of the equation don’t have to be a dilemma but can synergistically cooperate and integrate.
CAP asks us to take responsibility for our part in historically built-up structures whose greedy power and control / authority shadow (PLUTO) have been exploiting and abusing Mother Earthand her human, animal, and plant Beings that need protection & care (CANCER).
To have / practice healthy boundaries, disengage from being sucked into the shadow wherever we can, and to Be the Change, the Oneswho care, the Ones we’ve been waiting for & looking up to (CAP). What matters is consistency and leading by example, rather than judging and blaming. Makes us feel better and more empowered too…
‘Just’ resisting and blaming external authority and power structures / ‘the system’ (SATURN now in AQ, and PLUTO still in CAP) isn’t the way forward. Still feeds the energy field by giving ‘them’ attention, acknowledges ‘them’ energetically, and basically responds / reacts in an adolescent manner.
Time to claim self-authority, rather than dwelling in old outgrown modes (gets more & more obvious & uncomfortable to ‘inhabit’ them), co-build new & better, more compassionate & humane structures that take care of needs more directly and on an equal level.
Rather than let the old fossilized top-down institutionalized world turn from Plutocracy (governance of the wealthy) to Technocracy (governance of technology – based on a materialistic worldview), and combinations of both?!

The hard-core Earth sign CAP likes a good challenge, accomplishment, completion, and: success. Failure, defeat, and futility are most frustrating if not ‘devastating’ for CAP. Or, I should say, the ego expression of this energy…
Yet, as the symbol succinctly says: “The spiritual life is paradoxical.” On a Soul level, things aren’t as they seem on the personality level. Always good (and liberating!) to consider potential ‘Soul Contracts’ with ‘challenging, difficult’ people in our lives.
PLUTO takes us to the ‘underworld’ and into essence, by stripping away what’s ‘in the way’ of soulful living. Which of course can be hugely challenging to go through, yet mostly, when we resist the change that comes with deeper inner powers ‘in charge’, and try to ‘march on’ – leaving all kinds of ‘casualties’ on our trail, rather than acknowledging the apparent ‘defeat’ – things get even more intense.
Our Western / post-modern society is SO success driven, hence the conditioning to often override (via the ego) what Soul has ‘planned’ for us.
May this symbol be an inspiration to show that surrendering and acknowledging we’re by nature not ‘in charge’, and giving up the ‘mission impossible’ can be the kindest (CAN), most powerful-soulful (PLUTO) and effective (CAP) way of responding to… …whatever we’re intent to control.
Also reminds me of the phrase: “Nothing fails like success.” “The idea that nothing fails like success is often attributed to the great historian Arnold Toynbee, as he chronicled the rise and fall of civilizations. He posited that when societies face challenges, they use creativity and innovation to successfully respond. But inevitably the nature of the challenge changes. And yet, they so often respond with their old approach. Their subsequent downfall is as certain as their newfound challenge – hence the expression, “Nothing fails like success.”

I just need to remind myself more often too. Play puts me in an inspired & relaxed work mode, plus I get to see that ‘work’ & clients come to me not because I work so hard but because they love me & love what I offer, and how it affects them. Everything works so much more smoothly – and playfully – with resonance and connection.

For a good (RE)birthing process, we need to work with PLUTO. In the birth process, the Plutonian phase is the embryonic passage through the birth canal.
PLUTO is the main Planetary Archetype still remaining in CAP for a while (until 2023 / 24).
PLUTO is now activated by the SuperMOON, and polarized / opposed by the seasonal energies of MERCURY (July 18), the SUN (July 19), and this year LILITH(Dec 14) in CANCER.
What a wintry vibe to tune in & transform (with) – contrasted & balanced now by summery-creative energies. Not everything has to be done the hard & heavy way (CAP). Things can be more playful. Esp. when we surrender…

Ganesha – Elephant headed Hindu god, known as the ‘Remover of Obstacles’ on the path, and Guru that takes us from the darkness (of not seeing what the obstacles is / was) to the Light.
Ganesha can be related in Astrology to SATURN (the Teacher) and JUPITER (the Mentor).
SATURN these years in AQ (Dec 2019 – March 2023) gives evidence for where challenges for Humanity, Societies, and Systems arise. Teaching us, at times painfully, how the obstacles (SATURN) to co-creation in freedom (AQ) have to do with having given authority away to systems that aren’t working anymore, and are ripe to be ‘harvested’. SATURN presently retro (June 4 – Oct 22), supports taking authority and responsibility back. Yet not motivated by ego – heeds Ganesh.

Yesterday eve, U.S. Independence Day,MARS left ‘his’ ARIES domain – after a fierce 6-week activation of THE Warrior energy, since May 24.
In ARIES, MARS energized JUPITER (May 29), CHIRON (June 15), and ERIS (June 28)… So many battles in and about Medicine, and so much discord and division (ERIS)! And a struggle to show up authentically, as and for oneself.
The grand finale came with MARS (together with ERIS) squaring PLUTO in CAP, end of June. Whoa – that was intense – stirring up battlegrounds – and once again triggering the monumental CAP energy.
MARS was the last time in ARIES in 2020, extensively, June 26, 2020 – Jan 6, 2021, incl its retro phase Sept 9 – Nov 13, 2020! Definitely an important fierce warrior signature of that epic year, besides the epochal alignment of JUPITER, SATURN, and PLUTO in CAP throughout 2020 – massive shadow revelation, indicating: The Old Empire expires (while holding on with teeth & claws).

It rules the Solar Plexus Chakra (Manipura) – our power centre. You know that sensation in the stomach when getting triggered… Always good to check in, and register what that has to do with the Ego.
Yes, MARS is also the ‘Ego Planet’, and expressed in ARIES (where it’s been since May 24!) rather directly and aggressively / assertively: “This is what I want and go for. And I’m doing it – NOW.”
Butting heads and flared-up battling is an immediate effect when assertions conflict with one another. We’ve definitely seen an assertive and belligerent time over the last month…
It also expressed as emergence of new movements. And spontaneous action. Innocent. Baby steps. Just going for it, trying out something new, rather than contemplating and ruminating. ARIES is the first sign of the Zodiac. The Spring Lamb.
Hopefully we could channel the energy into spontaneous, authentic action, and into getting (back) up and starting fresh when things were short-lived, or didn’t go anywhere. CHIRON now also in ARIES (2019 – 2026) – activated by MARS – is about the Medicine of showing up, and being authentic.

The finishing-off-square with freshly retro / stationary NEPTUNE (went retro on June 28), today July 2 could have wreaked a lot of havoc in the mind – like an extended M-r phase. I like to call GEM – CAN the ‘Nesting Point’ when winged creatures build, or return to their nests, and tend to the young. The GEMINI buzz turns into homecoming & belonging. School year’s over – family time.
And it’s also (well suited for MERCURY) a ‘Rapport Point‘. To built good rapport, we need to have a mental (GEM) and emotional (CAN) connection, ‘get one another’, and share from a loving, nurturing, compassionate place.
Let’s make a point of being in good rapport with the world and the ‘others’ – always, and esp. these days. Which means to put ourselves in their shoes – how might they feel? – while also tending to our needs.

MERCURY in CAN brings backmemoriesand reflections, is rather inward-backward oriented, and wanders on the shoreline between the ‘Sands of Time’ and the ‘Waters of Life’.
This mercurial energy can be well channeled into communicating from a caring, nurturing, compassionate, gentle place, with and on behalf of the family, tribe, children, the human family, and the family of all sentient Beings.
Talk to your Tribe! And talk to ‘others’ as if they were in your Tribe – because we ultimately are. Everybody belongs.
Also, a good vibe for mercurial / mercantile interactions and business relating to / from / for the home.
The shadow / downside of MERCURY in CANCER is an emotional ‘overlay’ of information processing, and lack of objectivity.Information is filtered through sensitivity, feelings, needs, memories. The mental-emotional landscape is by nature – now accentuated by MERCURY – fluctuating / rhythmic / non-linear. CANCER is ruled by the MOON and ebb & tides, which may sound like: “Today it seems like this, but who knows what it’ll remind me of, how I read it / feel and think about it tomorrow”.
CANCER’s got thebest memory bank of them all. Which is where the mind (MERCURY) can be pulled into now, for better (“Bring on the stories and throwbacks!”) or worse (these ghosts from the past have a life of their own, and in hindsight it can be nostalgic or…haunting). MERCURY in CANCER opens a sweet window to look into the inner landscape, and ask:
How does this and that information, what I read or hear (and how I hear it) make me feel?
Where do these feelings originate in me?
Water signs are sensitive & instinctive – we can learn a lot from that gift now – and could use more of that in our world.
A good time to (re)cultivate compassion, gentleness, kindness. We never know what’s going on in others (like, when they say “I’m fine…”, or don’t talk behind their masks).
Dreams can be enhanced now too (and even more so building up to the Full Moon on July 13). Bringing their symbols & messages from our subconscious and from the collective ‘field’ to our consciousness can be very powerful.

MERCURY in CANCER initiates the Summer to Fall Retro Season
Up to 7(!) Planets (incl. MERCURY, Sept 9 – Oct 2) will be simultaneously Retro this Summer to Fall!
During MERCURY’s crab walk through CANCER, one step forward, two steps back, several Planets are already, or about to go retro (as they have been in the last years, during the Summer – a pattern).
In the already present and upcoming turnaround & retro courses of these Planets (PLUTO – since Apr 29, SATURN – since June 4, NEPTUNE – since June 28, CHIRON – from July 19 on, JUPITER – from July 28 on, URANUS – from Aug 24 on), we’re called to go backwards / inwards.
To REsolve and REleaseold low vibrational and unconscious, perhaps karmically ‘inherited’ or societally conditioned patterns, process those, and evolve from within.
The ‘Wave of Retro’ will be strongestfrom Sept 9 – Oct 2, when MERCURY retro will be the peak factor.

MERCURY in early LIBRA back to late VIR, dancing / flying on the ‘Design Point’ (retro Sept 9 – Oct 2) From trying to make the ‘perfect choice’, given so many variables / moving parts in the ‘equation’ to equanimity – a balanced mind.
JUPITER in early AR back to late PI, ‘dancing’ on the ‘Emergence Point’ this year (retro July 28 – Nov 23 – framed by two New Moons) Cultivating inner spaciousness, openness to beneficial vibrations, and connection to what-IS – helps to outgrow and transcend overwhelm, inner chaos & confusion. And is a better starting point – for everything, and for seeing the world with fresh eyes.
SATURN in late AQ (retro June 4 – Oct 22) Rather than buying into internalized socially conditioned fears and alienation, finding authority, responsibility, integrity, and freedom within, and living from that ‘inner mandate’.
CHIRON in mid-ARIES (retro July 19 – Dec 23) The ‘wound’ carries the Inner Medicine Old and early wounds and trauma round survival and (not) being seen & loved show up in this time of uncertainty. We heal as we show up authentically-lovingly, and bravely step into the New.
NEPTUNE in late PISCES (retro June 28 – Dec 3) Connectedness & Oneness Old overwhelm, confusion, delusions, addictions, feeling victimized, and ways of ‘checking out’ and giving up. Re-lief & release through dropping into Unity Consciousness, in the Unified Field.
PLUTO in late CAP (retro Apr 29 – Oct 8) Empowered by and for Evolution Experiencing old (outer and inner / internalized) powers that oppress and abuse, and old control patterns. Accessing inner Soul Power that cannot be destroyed, a deep inner inalienable resource that’s always available to help us transform & evolve.
As mentioned, the ‘Retro Culmination’ will be early Sept to early Oct. A perfect time to go inward, and re-trieve from within what might have been ‘given away’.
MERCURY in CAN already prepares us for this ‘hermetic’ move.

The alignment with the SUN connects Mind & Consciousness / Spirit and gives a lot of energy to the mind – which can make for a very brainy atmosphere, yet also brings out mental brilliance. SO conducive to communicate with your tribe / family / people whom you’re in mental-emotional resonance with.
