In the Solar Zodiac cycle, we’re now approaching the Heart of the SCORPION – the center of the Fall Season and the Celtic festival of Samhain.
Which was traditionally celebrated on Oct 31 when the ‘Summer’ and harvest time ended. On Nov 1 began a new Celtic calendar year. With large fires, the Celtic people thanked the SUN God for the good harvest, and expelled the evil spirits who wandered around that night.
On Oct 31 those who died in the past year were commemorated. Many believed that the dead returned to their old homes in the night to find warmth and friendship.
The lit pumpkins at the door steps or in the windows symbolize skulls with the eternal light of the soul in it. The spirits who had not walked home into the light, wandering at night, scared people, and played tricks on them.
Nov 1 was eventually declared by the Catholic Church the Day of All Saints (holy ones), and Nov 2 All Souls Day.
Celtic Wheel of the Year, with the cardinal Turning Points of the Equinoxes and Solstices, and the fixed ‘Gates of Power: Beltane, Lammas, SAMHAIN / HALLOWE’EN, and IMBOLC / Brigid’s Day.
‘All Hallows Evening’ or simply ‘Hallows E’en’ became later Hallowe’en.
Even though, mid SCORPIO / central Fall is traditionally celebrated with Hallowe’en / Samhain on Oct 31, the exact centre (15°) of SCO is not on Oct 31 but round Nov 7.
This year, we’ll see a mid-SCORPIO New Moon on Nov 4 together with MARS, and MERCURY just about to enter SCO as well, the day after.
Very potent times, with strongly concentrated energies that can bring out extremes and big contrasts… – which are guide posts to transformation.
Don’t get hooked / attached – or I shall say, check out where you do get attached, acknowledge it (don’t leave it ‘in the dark’) – so that it can change…

In Catholic Bavaria where I grew up in, where my biological ancestors are from, on All Saints Day (Nov 1), families visit the graves of their ancestors, after a mass, similarly to Dia de los Muertos in Mexico yet more solemnly.
A time of bringing fresh flowers, love, prayers and candles to the resting place of their bones, and to honour the undying Soul. Maybe a time to let go, to forgive, and know, Love is all that matters.
Halloween pumpkins with candles inside originally represented skulls with the eternal light of the undying Soul ‘inside’. Through dying and transforming of appearances, the Light prevails.
The carved face or feature is the ‘façade’ / appearance, or persona / mask, and the candle light is Spirit & Soul ‘behind’ and ‘inside’ it..
Perhaps a different way of looking at ‘carved pumpkins’ or of carving one…. And a different way of looking at ANY appearances… esp. in times likes these.

On Oct 30, MARS makes its move from fair & weighing LIBRA into magical-transformational SCORPIO where it’ll stir things up and work them through, until Dec 13. In its 2-year cycle, MARS was the last time in SCO in Nov / Dec 2019.
MARS’s crossingover the ‘Tipping Point’ from LIBRA to SCORPIO (ruled by PLUTO) can be quite the catalyst for shifts and changes we’ve been waiting for. And we’ll get more courage, energy, resolve, and power to go intothem.
MARS is also better placed in SCORPIO than in LIBRA where it’s been hanging out since Sept 14. Aiming for negotiation (LIBRA) was often frustrated, since the negotiators could have been too much ‘in for themselves’ (MARS). One’s ego (MARS) could have been too involved in decision making and choosing (LIBRA), or one could have invested a lot of energy (MARS) in a dilemma (LIBRA) between self assertion (MARS) vs. doing it ‘for them’ / only if everyone’s on board (LIBRA).
MERCURY retro in LIBRA until Oct 18 didn’t exactly help with move things forward – lots of second and afterthoughts.
TheSCO New Moon on Nov 4catalyzes MARS & MERCURY into SCO.
With MARS in SCORPIO, we’re more likely to just dive into change.
What’s coming up now for processing can move us deeply, and gets things moving! Which can be a roller coaster of grief, anger, deep love that turns into obsession, attachment and control, jealousy, betrayal, resentment, regret, shame… all those feelings that are otherwise hidden and ‘under wraps’.
Yet the point (as typically with SCORPIO) is to not get ‘stuck in the dark’ but move all the way through the swamp and the magic, and come out on the other end, transformed and empowered.
Well, just like in a good fairy-tale, and in inner psychological processes, all the characters have their place, no-one is banned from the party (and if they are that sets up an interesting sub-plot)… SCORPIO stirs up and scrubs the bottom of the pot. It can bring us to our knees, and into deep well-covered psychological layers that we usually avoid.
The Soul has its way with us… I.o.w., MARS in SCORPIO can be a spiritual mobilization.
Uhhh, MARS in SCORPIO will add to the astrological yer-end Eclipse Season! Nov 19 PLE Full Moon in TAU – SCO & Dec 3 / 4 TSE in SAG.
These Eclipses will also initiate the Nodal Shift into SCORPIO (SN) – TAU (NN) onDec 23 (until mid-July 2023).
An incentive to let go of Scorpionic shadows of (self) destructive tendencies – we better process a big chunk of those, under MARS in SCO! – and to be an expression of the natural, organic Life Force & live joyfully (TAU).

Markers in the Martian Journey through SCORPIO
Soon after the dip into SCO, MARS is being met by the New Moon in mid- (double) SCO, on Nov 4 – a full-on deep dive initiation.
Things get really going from then on, as MERCURY will also enter SCO on Nov 5, and hook up with MARS on Nov 10.
Another important phase is Nov 10 – 17, when MARS squares SATURN in AQ, goes into quincunx with CHIRON retro in (MARS ruled) ARIES, and into opposition with URANUS retro in TAU. Even though, social / societal norms would seem to prevent us, how can we take responsibility, be in our authority, and show up in new, raw, and somewhat ‘scary’ but healing ways, as we create more intimacy and depth? And how do we welcome & move into breakthroughs that are ‘ripe’ to show up in physical, tangible ways, as we embody freedom?
Way to (let?) go, and let separative and (self) destructive ego drives transform into more connective ways of Being – esp. as MARS contacts stationary NEPTUNE in Water trine, on Nov 29.
Then on Dec 6, MARS goes into sextile with its ‘higher octave’ / transpersonal version PLUTO (ruler of SCO) nowa-years in CAP. Evolutionary regeneration demands working with time, resources, natural forces & Natural Law in a transformational & powerful way. I.o.w., BEING the Change that sustains, rather than being on a collective suicide mission. The released energy can transform into commitment to be on Soul Purpose, doing deep Soul Work, showing up in Integrity, and deeply, truly bringing our Best to the table.
On Dec 7 – 4 days after the TSE in SAG (Dec 3 / 4), a major event in the 2021 finale – MARS end of SCO squares JUPITER (ruler of SAG) end of AQ, 6 days before moving over the ‘Phoenix Point’ into SAG too, on Dec 13. Having cleared so much old and stagnant energy on the ‘bottom’ and in the background, incl. what’s been fed by old stories and beliefs, we can move forward-upward, co-create with others, and co-inspire Humanity and ‘random people’ to outgrow the dark grips, and expand into Freedom.

Boom! The ARIES MOON is here-now, since 3:04 am PDT today Oct 18 – opening the scene for her exact Fullness, opposite the late LIBRA SUN, on Oct 20 at 7:57 am PDT. You can find the full picture of the FM Birth-ing Chart below… lots of polarity and tension in the atmosphere, for sure.
The warm and golden October SUN (yay, back as of today!) and the crispy-fresh moonlit nights have been such a beautiful gift of contrast and balance.

The first Autumn Full Moon of 2021 is coming up!
It’s a fierce & intense one – calling for Balance, and for wise, soulful, and deeply authentic Choices.
And a cuspy one – ARIES/ TAURUS transition for the MOON – the ‘Settling / Manifestation Point’, and LIBRA / SCORPIO transition for the SUN – the ‘Tipping / Choice / Alchemy Point’.
What has come to fruition? Significant choices need to be made.
“Shall I stay or shall I go?”
“What have I manifested / what am I embodying now?”
“How can I be autonomously me, while being in relationship, and / or making a choice that involves others / partners?”
” How can I live in ‘juicy’ Alchemy with Life and with significant others, while being fully, authentically me?
Any of these (apparent?) dilemmas sound acutely familiar? Wishing you wise, soul powered Choices, at this important juncture!
Cusps are super relevant this year, with the Full Moons ‘punctuating’ them. The trend of cuspy Full Moons since the Summer (June 24, July 23, Aug 22, Sept 20) continues, with all 3Fall Full Moons:
Oct 20 FM end of AR (with ERIS) – end of LIBRA
Nov 19 FM PLE end of TAU – end of SCO
Dec 18 FM end of GEM – end of SAG (Galactic Centre)
All thesecuspy Full Moons – which are now, since the one on Aug 22, at the end of Zodiac signs (the previous ones were at the beginning of signs) – call us to balance & integrate polarities (as every FM does), while also dancing in transitional mode. The Zodiac energies and the Alchemy of their Elements guide us in this (AR / TAU = Fire / Earth, LI / SCO = Air / Water).
Over the last decade, I’ve been exploring and teaching the Zodiac Cusp Themes in my Astro practice – a not well covered yet important topic for the practical application of Astrology: What characterizes their transitional energy (from AR to TAU, from TAU to GEM, etc.) – and what does that mean in ‘real life’? Since it’s an organic transition, rather than compartmentalizing ‘old school’ / ‘cook book Astrology’ would have it (well, even in cooking, there are blends!).

We’re in the build-up days for this ARIES Full Moon– with Her ‘fierce midwife‘ ERIS
Also in ARIES – often ignored (well, that’s tragically-fittingly aligned with Her Archetype), and met by the ARIES Moon just before Fullness: ERIS.

Astronomically, She’s the most massive and second-largest ‘dwarf planet’ known in the Solar System, and was given this astronomical status in 2006 (originally named ‘Planet X’ / ‘Xena’). This happened in the process when PLUTO was demoted as a Planet – while in late SAG, the Galactic Centre(!).
Since ERIS has almost the same diameter as PLUTO, and size matters for astronomical classifications: If PLUTO had retained its Planet status, ERIS and CERES had to be reclassified as Planets too which the astronomical system / consciousness wasn’t ready for.

Even though, ‘demoted’ as a Planet (so Plutonic – sent into the underground – while it was traversing the Galactic Centre), the Planetary Archetype PLUTO is of course well and alive, regenerated (can’t demote Archetypes arbitrarily…).
And in the meantime, ‘even’ the heavenly body has been seen in a new light, through the New Horizons space mission cameras, with first close-ups from Pluto in 2015.
And – guess what?
PLUTO end of CAP (stationary in October, as it turned direct with the LIBRA New Moon on Oct 6!) squares ERIS 2020 / 2021.
This PLUTO – ERIS square is being activated, and even brought to fruition, by the Full Moon in AR – LI! Super crucial.
More about ERIS
Regardless of her astronomical ‘status’, ERIS came big time into collective consciousness these years. ERIS has a highly elliptical orbit that takes her 558 years(!) around the SUN – more than twice as long as far-out PLUTO (248 years). She’s been in ARIES for a super long time, since 1922, until 2040 –for most of / the entire life time of most humans alive. Even if you have ‘nothing in ARIES’ you do: ERIS.
Who / what / which Archetype actually is ERIS, and how does She show up now personally and societally?
ERIS – Antikensammlung Berlin
Mythological ERIS is the sister of MARS / ARES (and may well co-rule ARIES, for that matter).
In Greek Mythology, “She stirs up jealousy and envy, to cause fighting and anger among men. At the wedding of Peleus and Thetis, all the Gods were invited with the exception of Eris. Enraged at her exclusion, she spitefully caused a quarrel among the Goddesses that led to the Trojan War.”
TheERIS Archetype – Greek goddess of discord & strife – seeds disruption and separation, is vengeful and confrontational, because she’s excluded / not welcome at the table / not invited to the ‘ceremony’.
So much conflict & strife has been triggered / found outlets these years… …as the socio-political Plutocratic (which means literally: rulership of the wealthy’) ‘exclusive games’ of the 1% elite / supremacy (CAP shadow) have been revealed (PLUTO).
The old and dying hierarchical top-down world shows its shadow ever so intensely (PLUTO), at the expense and exclusion of us ‘regular’ People, and of minorities who feel left out of the ‘democratic’ decision making process, and even deprived of their / our constitutional (CAP) rights and freedoms.
Feelings of separation and exclusion have been hijacked and re-seeded in the mass consciousness, via the media / social media and their deceptive / programming potential, and via ‘disruptive technology’, fanning discord and polarization, which can be abused in so many ways, and can be socially erosive (if not explosive)…
ERIS’s Archetype shows also how ‘small things’ can lead to major effects. We’ve seen a LOT of polarization and discord in Humanity, triggered through the Corona Crisis. The ‘Coronation’ theme is also very symbolic for the ERIS Archetype in ARIES, who says: Don’t give sovereignty away!
MARS was in ARIES in 2020 for an extended time (July – early Jan 2021), where He went retro mid-Sept – early Nov) activated ERIS 3 times (!). Hopefully, the combo of ERIS & MARS that was activated last year, coming to fruition with this Full Moon close to where MARS stationed(!), shows, in a transformed and empowered way: The sum of small determined actions (rather than upset re-actions) can help shift global consciousness, and move us into the NEW Inclusive Way of Being with one another on this Planet Home!

The upcoming FM is a mix of completion & transformation (esp. given the deeper / historic PLUTO – ERIS dynamic), addressing CHIRON and URANUS (Old Wounds into New Medicine, Old Trauma into Liberation), and a shift into new approaches (ARIES activation).
So, what’s with that Full Moon midpoint (can you see it in the chart?)? The FULL MOON (with ERIS) is quite exactly between CHIRON retro in AR and URANUS retro in TAU.
CHIRON retro in ARIES
Heated head-butting in the realm of ‘Medicine’ and autonomy – the Wound of confrontation & warfare. The Medicine: Being authentic, facing challenges bravely, showing up a-new and starting fresh, taking baby steps when you’re the only one here / the first one / don’t have models.
URANUS retro in TAU
Disruption, shocks, trauma to biology, security, comfort, consistency, bodily senses. Liberation through emBodying Freedom.
The ARIES Full Moon pulls their themes together, while bringing an important stage of their combination (which we’ve seen since 2019 when both CHIRON entered ARIES and URANUS fully entered TAU) to fruition.
Since ERIS is involved, and PLUTO’s last exact square to Her, in my sense, it’s most obvious that societally,this Full Moon directly affects the polarized intense discord we’ve seen in the public re: Corona measures & politics, fanned by media and various agendas.
As PLUTO has it, the intensity with which the shadow and extremes are brought out now, needs to be also processed and transformed within (not just projected onto ‘Evil Others’ / ‘Evil Empire’) – so that it can turn into substantial change from the inside out, and from the ground up.
Here are some questions to hopefully inspire some Plutonic ‘digging’:
What would it take to de-escalate the on-going strive?
What do both ‘camps’ have in common? What are their true needs?
What could a raw, authentic, and constructive meeting look like?
What would it take for everyone to be empowered from deep within?
What would it take for YOU to Be the Change?
PLUTO stationary (went direct on Oct 6) end of CAP is the apex (= outlet) of an almost exact cardinal T-square with the Full Moon axis!
What does PLUTO in CAP point to, where can the change be sourced, and what can the state of things change into?
The Power of TIME & Timeliness. How do we know when’s the ‘right & ripe time’, esp. for making choices that involve / are dependent on others (LIBRA) while you might want to move forward in your own way (ARIES)?
Astrology helps through showing us the cosmic cycles, and how to align with them. Natural inner knowing and alignment helps too. Don’t let yourself get guilt-tripped (“You should do this for… them”) or pressured (“You should be already…. doing this”) in this ever so 24/7 production mode world – which isn’t really all that productive anyway, esp. if natural cycles of rest & regeneration aren’t honoured. So perhaps the Power of TIME means to slow down, smell the Roses, and let things naturally ripen until their Harvest time comes…?
Honouring the Elders, and Receiving Guidance. Elders may be biological Elders, Spirit Elders, the Spirit of the ‘Old World’… Being in partnership (LIBRA) with them, and guided (CAP) by and to them can be very powerful – IF you hear the call.
Working Well with Resources. Being Resourceful. Which ties into Time and Natural Laws… Working respectfully with the cycles of Nature, incl. our own nature, the human life cycle, and day-to-day cycles. CAP traditionally works with the Land, and cooperates with Nature. When and where is a good time / place to seed / plant / harvest? There’s simplicity and beauty in this. Can we apply it again more into our lives? CAP says: I use (I use what’s here and make the best out of it, I’m resourceful). The shadow would be to abuse, over-use, and the lack would be to under-use what’s sitting somewhere, and would be a helpful resource.
Wisdom of the Body. The most obvious ‘earthly’ resource ‘close to us’ is our body, of course. End-of-CAP where PLUTO is now has also a VIRGO undertone – health & wellness is a super important ‘natural resource’. Don’t let yourself get de-stabilized from chaos and imbalance around (low grade experience of URANUS in TAU). Find and stand your ground. Let’s definitely bring the wisdom of the body in, for wise choices & empowering change, while being in our authentic Self!
What about MARS?
MARS, the ruling Planet of ARIES, is with the SUN end of LIBRA (‘in exile’ there). Time to make a decisive choice, for fairness, justice, peace, win-win, and act accordingly?
On Oct 30, MARS will go over the ‘Tipping Point’ into SCO (ruled by PLUTO) where the Warrior of Change gives us an extra transformational oomph through the SCO season and beyond (until Dec 13!).

We see here the tangible results of the situation evoked by the two preceding symbols. Great hopes, excited expectations cannot be sustained. The last symbol reveals the performer’s state of consciousness; in this one s/he is actually made fully aware of having promised – to the many elements of his / her own personality as well as perhaps to other human beings – more than s/he was able to deliver. The issue is how to handle this situation. In one form or another, it is an often recurring situation in the life of an individual person. The manner in which it is met determines the individual’s future possibilities of development and achievement.
This is the third stage of this five-fold sequence. What is implied here is the need to be more than “obsessed by potentiality” and subjectively involved in the use of the new powers. The symbol’s interpretation is quite straight-forward (in ARIES manner) and self explanatory. I’d like to add a few points, in the context of NOW:
Yes, performer isn’t just a term used for actors and other stage performers but of course much broader, wherever success and accomplishment is at stake, esp. in our high pressure / high performance oriented world.
The symbol almost sounds as if it ‘belongs to’ CAPRICORN (“sustaining expectations”, “mature preparation”, “responsibility”…), which PLUTO in CAP squaring the Full Moon axis ‘takes care of’, as in: Transforming such socially conditioning where it’s become toxic and destructive.
The ARIES emphasis of the symbol is on the audience confronting & challenging the performer – who needs to be held accountable. I can think of a few ‘public players’ who disappointed the audience…
And it’s time to do our inner ‘inventory’, ‘confrontation of inner players’,re-evaluate ‘success’ / ‘performance’, and become clear about what’s really at stake.
The very end of LIBRA where MARS & the SUN are now takes (pushes?) us to conscious choices to contribute and participate socially, and help co-create a new culture and a living civilization.
To make not just knowledge but lived experience and wisdom available as a legacy for future generations. And the core of CAPRICORN (PLUTO) squaring ARIES & LIBRA would be very content with this worthwhile effort and wise choice.

Such a critical juncture and choice point. What’s the world we’re choosing to be in? From Old World conflict and external confrontation (often born of fear, tribal consciousness, strive, division, polarization) to Oneness that’s the ultimate truth.
JUPITER (in Air trine from AQ with the LIBRA MARS / SUN), soon to fully enter PISCES, agrees: Beyond fear and separation, there’s Unity, in the Web of Life. All is One.

In the Egyptian Book of the Dead, Ibis-headed Thoth to the left with the double-serpent wrapped around him, and Cow-headed Hathor to the right weigh the heart of the deceased (in an urn) against the feather of Ma’at (Goddess of Justice).
May in any significant choice point and transition our heart be unburdened, and as light as a feather!
I like to call the transition / cusp from LIBRA to SCORPIO the ‘Tipping Point’ (the scales tip, the choice is being made – or it’s a ‘choiceless choice’! – and inevitably leads to change).
It’s also an ‘Alchemy Point’ where ‘ingredients’ are ‘married’, to co-create something more potent than the sum of them. If the ‘match’ is magical powerful change is afoot!
As the SUN, on Oct 30 also MARS, and on Nov 5 also MERCURY enter SCORPIO we’re invited to go into magical change – if we trust the Unknown.

In the Oct Turnaround phase, it’s SATURN’s turn on 10/10
…after PLUTO started the trend, initiated by / on the day of the Very LIBRA New Moon, Oct 6. JUPITER & MERCURY follow, on Oct 17 / 18 – feeding into the late ARIES – LIBRA Full Moon on Oct 20.
The double 10 date stands out, and is aligned with SATURN ruling the 10th sign, CAPRICORN, and the 10th House in the chart – of purpose and ‘public relations’. Many hints from SATURN how important this time is.
The SATURN retro phase in AQ over the last 4 1/2 months since end of May brought lots of evidence for how external social / societal / scientific authority & norms is questionable / doesn’t work. Rather than taking blame from others, or blaming ‘them’ / ‘it’, how about taking responsibility, and doing what a truly good friend or role models in society would do – showing up with integrity from the inside-out?!
As SATURN & JUPITER, both in AQ this year,come out of retro within a week (Oct 10 & 17), the month of October offers not just a necessity (says SATURN) but also a great opportunity (says JUPITER) to do an inventory & overhaul of systems, society, community, and friendships (all AQ themes) we wish to be part of. Not for external reasons, but from the inside-out (retro to direct).
The cosmic coach SATURN and the cosmic mentor JUPITER are with us.
The retro-to-direct phase is perfect to get into a Fall inventory project, and see on the external level how our inner process since both went retro, which started May 23 / June 20 has re-configured us, and how we show up with the inner strengthening & wisdom gained in the outer world.

The ancient symbolism of the Cosmic Egg (Hiranyagharba in Sanskrit) out of which a new Universe is born can be interpreted at several levels.
Here we see the appearance of a new type of human being who is not born from “Ancestors” and who therefore is free from the inertia of humanity’s past. S/he is a new product of evolution, a mutant. S/he constitutes a fresh projection of the creative Spirit that emanates from the cosmic or planetary Whole, and not from any local culture and racial tradition.
This second stage symbol is in contrast with the preceding one. It can be said to announce the EMERGENCE OF THE GLOBAL HUMAN for the New Age. The power of the whole is focused within him / her, in perfect freedom from ancient standards of value based on local conditions.”
Wow. Dane Rudhyar published the (above quoted) interpretation of the Sabian Symbols in 1973.
Is this Symbol for SATURN’s turning point ever pertinent for what’s in the making in society & humanity in 2020 / 2021, and at the eve of PLUTO’s transition into AQ in 2023 / 24! Qu is: What kind of ‘Global Human for the New Age’ is emerging? A utopian humanity of collaboration in freedom & equality? Or a dystopian ‘engineered’ / technocratically surveilled ‘trans human’ mutant, alienated from socio-local culture and historic context? PLUTO approaching AQ suggests, there can be extremes / pushing the need for transformation of shadow manifestations.
I find it’s crucial to also feature the Symbol for the degree before this one – to which SATURN did not quite(!) go back to, but already transited this February. Not just because it was referred to in the one in question but also given its striking theme:

What’s a symbolic meaning of what’s being presented / enacted / ritualized(?) in humanity these times, where masks have seemed to have become a fetish? And, since on some level, it seems dream like, “What if this was a dream, what would its message and function be?”. I leave you with these qu, and with the Symbol…
Bottom line, in the concentrated turnaround time for JUPITER & SATURN together in AQ this year (their union was on Dec 21, 2020 from which time on JUPITER took the lead), the original motto becomes pertinent again: A New Era for our Shared Humanity!

Just after the very LIBRA New Moon, Her ruling Planet VENUS comes out of SCORPIO, and spreads her wings like a Phoenix.
She’s this year the first heavenly body to leave SCO and rise up in SAG: The SUN will follow on Nov 21, MERCURY on Nov 24, and MARS on Dec 13.
The fact that VENUS is wayyy ahead of the game / season shows: She’ll go retro soon (Dec 19 – Jan 29). A process where VENUS goes (from Earth perspective) from the beautiful ‘Evening Star’ (soon-to-see,mid-end of Oct), as She’s setting after the SUN, into Her ‘Underworld Journey’ (travelling close to the SUN, and therefore not visible in the sky) to rise as the ‘Morning Star’ before the SUN from March 2022 on.

It’s coming to an end: The Love Goddess has been in her yearly ‘Underworld Journey’ in SCORPIO since Sept 10. Not exactly one of her fave places to dwell in – polar opposite of yummy sensual TAURUS which VENUS rules – but: there’s beauty in the deep & dark… (as long as we don’t get stuck there and let its energy control us).
After we’ve been (with VENUS in SCO) fascinated by and magnetized to uncomfortable, painful, intense, disturbing, yet hopefully (esp. emotionally) transformational experiences and gone through the depth with love… …we can rise and move upward again, and feel reborn like a Phoenix, as we’re drawn to the Light.

Here in Canada, we’ll celebrate Thanksgiving on the upcoming long weekend.
In several U.S. states (for how much longer?) Columbus Day will be celebrated the same day as Canadian Thanksgiving, Oct 11. Instead of it, since the early 1990’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day is being honoured as a counter-holiday.
Cultivating balance, and being in Right Relationship are keys for LIBRA, and come up for all of us in the LIBRA season.
And yes, some of you wonder: “I’m / they are a LIBRA (via SUN sign) yet having all these relationship troubles, and am / are SO not in balance…”
To which I say (nice opportunity to clarify again, under MERCURY retro): The SUN sign you’re born under doesn’t indicate what you’re ‘good at’, or even what ‘comes natural’ (which is rather shown by your MOON and AC). The SUN is where your Consciousness and Spirit are being activated – a life long journey.
YES – Thanksgiving is coming. Gratitude is an attitude, and an empowering choice – even in times like this…, at this Harvest Season of the year, and perhaps Harvest Time of a larger cycle.
Cultivating genuine gratitude for what is given, and for the results of what we’ve put in ‘over the Spring and Summer’ (literally and symbolically speaking) is a good practice to generate contentment & inner harmony, and to contemplate the teachings that may show us how to correct our course.

The LIBRA New Moon and her themes are quite relevant for you, at this choice point time esp. if your SUN / MOON / AC / Planets are in the middle of the cardinal signs, ARIES, CANCER, LIBRA, or CAP.
For all of us with placements in late CAP where PLUTO hovers these days (years) and for all of us ‘Plutonic’ people – SCORPIO and such -, the PLUTO Turnaround that comes with the New Moon calls to re-source from deep within, and show up soulfully.
JUPITER, the planetary Archetype related to gratitude and seeing the bigger picture, will change directions from retro to direct, on Oct 17. JUPITER is in 2021 (mostly) in AQ – showing us the gifts of friendship, community & collaboration. I’m truly grateful for all the gifts this year has brought in that regard – and shall write a gratitude log, to mark them even more clearly.
SATURN, the planetary Archetype associated with challenges, lessons & teachings, is alsoin AQ, since Dec 2020 until March 2023. Do we ever notice THAT! So many challenges have been presented to Humanity since, and of course already in 2020 when SATURN was for a while in AQ (late March – early July). The question is: How do we face these challenges – together (AQ)? Our Humanity matters.

Yet, just as in a personal chart, since it’s presented the Universe suggests / supports working with it:
Learning, thinking, communicating (GEMINI, where the North Node & LILITH are these days / months) – while MERCURY retro in LIBRA helps us get out of old mental patterns, and of being caught in the mind.
Making well-balanced choices, and being in right relationship (LIBRA, with SUN / MOON / MARS, and MERCURY retro).
Co-creating in synergy with like-spirited / light-spirited / free-spirited friends and in community, for the future of our shared Humanity (AQ, with SATURN and JUPITER, both currently retro, yet turning around on Oct 10 / 17).

We’re in LIBRA season (since Sept 22 – Fall Equinox)!

The LIBRA painting to the left symmetrically features SUN & MOON in the Infinity symbol (a # 8 on its side – also reflecting the Major Arcana VIII card in Tarot: Balance).
Below them a scene from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, with deities Hathor and Thoth weighing the Heart of the deceased against the Feather of Maat – the ‘judgment’ of souls via wisdom / intellect / reason (yang), and love / compassion (yin). Only the Heart that proves to be as light as the feathermakes the transition into the otherworld.
Both Thoth and Hathor float in a cloud opening ‘generated’ by a yin-yang symbol. Below them are two Assyrian sphinxes, male and female on masonic tiled floor with their right paws on a glass cube altar with a LIBRA symbol out of which a Rose springs. All in symmetry and balance.
Being in Right Relationship, starting with the Inner and Outer Feminine & Masculine, as well as Equality, Balance and Fairness are big issues for LIBRA. LIBRA rules courtship and also courts…
End of LIBRA is close to the ‘Tipping Point’ cusp over to SCO (which the SUN enters on Oct 22) – choices lead to change / decisions have consequences.The transformation begins.

What a LIBRA Concentration, of SUN – MOON – MARS – MERCURY retro!
The SoLunar New Moon Union also meets up with MARS in LIBRA – for the MOON on Oct 6, the New Moon day, and for the SUN on Oct 7 – day of the ‘New Mars’. And with MERCURY retro in LIBRA – for the MOON on Oct 6, and for the SUN on Oct 9 – day of the ‘New Mercury’ and ‘Day of Enlightening Insights’.
All this in combination is a mouthful… Definitely geared to get things going again, also via the Turnaround of 4 Planets that the New Moon initiates, after an extended & record breaking Retro phase (of SEVEN Planets between Sept 26 and Oct 6!).
With the ‘New MARS’ (happens every 2 years when the SUN ‘passes’ MARS), a new cycle starts, where Spirit & Consciousness (our ‘True Gold’, the Inner ‘King’ / ‘Queen’ Archetype) leads, and the assertive Warrior (easily hijacked by the ego) follows.

Hope you’ve been regenerating from old internalized condition(ing)s, have been able to consolidate ‘old business’, and you’re ready to show up with the inner change in the ‘outer’ world.

At the emotional-cultural level, humanity today is not able to sustain constant activity. There must be rest periods, siestas or coffee breaks, during which the individual withdraws within their own sphere of selfhood, not only for physical relaxation but for allowing the strange, but evidently necessary play of dream fantasies. Social structuring cannot be maintained healthfully without breaks, in whatever climate humans may live. Besides, the body needs quiet and relaxation from nervous tension after what is often the main meal of the day.
This fourth stage symbol can be seen as emphasizing the need for techniques of RELAXATION, and the need to allow the functions of body and psyche to “digest,” free from external pressures, the complex experiences of social living and particularly of business.”
Love it! So simple and true – yet often neglected in the ’24/7 productivity mode’ of humanity (mid-LIBRA has an AQ undertone) in our post-modern times – causing stress, competitiveness, and ever so much striving to ‘accomplish’ (shadows of CAP which PLUTO shows now too). YES, all the Retro’s in combination with the LIBRA New Moon / first New Moon of the Fall / Winter half of the year where the ‘Realm of the Moon’ and of darkness is stronger – in contrast to the Solar Spring / Summer half suggest: Just like Nature and in accord with Natural Law, we Humans too need Balance through Regeneration.
