SCO-TAU Wesak Moon (May 18) – Sit in the Buddha Hub!

17 May

WESAK MOON Blessings,
Dear Reader in the Astrology ComMOONity!

The Wesak Moon is celebrated by the Buddhist world Sangha (community), in honour of the birth, attaining of enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Siddhartha, the Buddha, who walked the Earth more than 2500 years ago, and set a model for the Living Buddha in all of us.

The Full Moon in May traditionally marks the Wesak Moon in Buddhist cultures, and that falls this year on May 18, with the MOON in late SCO and the SUN in late TAU.

The SCORPIO MOON – TAURUS SUN polarity aligns with the astrological Wesak Moon (see chart below).
It expresses the gist of basic Buddhist teachings, which in turn can help us be conscious of (SUN) and emotionally go into and transform (MOON) the core (SCO) of the matter (TAU)!

One essential question in Buddhism is:
Why do we humans suffer, or are even ‘just’ dissatisfied / discontent
(‘dukkha’) in life?

The answer is simple and obvious – yet still, it’s over and over again revolutionary to see it this way (why do we forget?!):
Because of our attachments to what we desire, and their frustration – not getting what we want, and not being able to get rid of the unwanted and painful. Which is… very TAURUS – SCORPIO!

Well, being in NYC these days before and around the Wesak Moon is a living example of the SCO – TAU axis.
NYC’s Taurean birthday was yesterday (see my post). Obviously, she isn’t called Big Apple for no reason, famous for the Taurean ‘candy store’ of sensual input and consumption, incl. a delish and culturally diverse food culture. Well, you need Taurean bucks to fully enjoy it all on the material level, and a healthy body to move about…

Wall St. Bull Shoulder Rub

Plus, there’s literally the capitalist Bull & Bear (hibernating / Scorpio related) Wall St. Market, and its the ever so popular massive bronze Wall St. Bull epitome (erected as a symbol of resilience after the recession) whom I also needed to rub shoulders / horns with… 🙂

And with ‘her’ MOON in CAP, the City strives ever higher, maximizing and optimizing time, real estate, and resources of all kinds, yet also needs to control and regulate on the shadow level of exploitation and privilege.

A City of sharp light & shadow, literally via the skyscrapers and street canyons, yet also energetically.

Wandering across ‘selfie haven’ Brooklyn Bridge back to Manhattan, I naturally gravitated towards WTC 1 – the proud and shiny ‘resurrection’ of what the Twin Towers represented.

Ground Zero North Pool

Being with Ground Zero Memorial right next to it in the evening – and under the early SCO MOON above was so moving. The North Pool & South Pool are exactly positioned where the towers once stood.
Having been on the observation deck of the South Tower at my 1st visit to NYC in the late 80’s and not since Sept 11 made me feel into the grief over those who painfully died in the tragedy, and feel the immense gratitude for the grace of not having been at the right place at the wrong time…
The names of all the 9/11 victims are engraved across the frames of the Ground Zero pools – and visitors are “encouraged to touch the names”. I really felt a connection with actual humans this way, rather than just an anonymous tragedy.
Golden-lit water cascades down into the about 1 acre square pools, and from there into central smaller completely dark square pools – like black holes.
All so Plutonic / Scorpionic.

So there it is – the SCO – TAU Full Moon themes a la NYC.
Reminiscent / playing out on an intense stage what’s going on in life, in all of us.
Taurean Life-as-Spring, enjoyment, physical / material pleasure, eating, embodying, gaining, having.
And Scorpionic pain, death, loss, grief and the whole spectrum of emotional depth that bring us to the essence and change us.

What does the Buddha say to this essential polarity in life?

As far as I understand the gist of the teachings, firstly, there’s a difference between physical and emotional pain and human suffering from it – true but not always easy to do… that’s why it’s called a practice.
Suffering obviously-not-always-obviously has to do with the attachment (yes, attachment is the key – as in sticky fixed signs TAU – SCO) to the desire for the wanted and to the desire of getting rid of the unwanted and painful.
The Buddhists would suggest two ‘ways out’ of suffering:
To be aware that nothing really lasts forever, everything is impermanent. This world of phenomena is in constant flux and change – we better get used to it, and become free through that realization.
Walking the ‘Middle Path’, a.k.a. the practice of the Noble 8-fold Path (right speech, right livelihood, right samadhi….) brings intrinsic happiness.

May the astrological Wesak Moon and the Buddhist Wesak Moon bring golden opportunities for realization & practice that set us FREE!

With the  example of NYC and the teachings of the Buddha, let’s link back into Astrology and the Wesak Moon chart with its message:

SCO – TAU Full Moon Themes – that are UP now:

Fixed, earthy TAURUS (ruled by VENUS) is all about embodiment, enjoyment of Life-on-Earth, sensuality, assimilation (food and stuff), and value. A substance building energy.
Immersed in the realm of  TAURUS, as in the full bloom of Spring, we celebrate the physical senses, comfort and pleasure, everything that creates security and grounding, and grows over time.

Taurean energy takes roots, builds, cultivates, and conserves, like a gardener, farmer, and good custodian of the Earth. TAU likes to attract what’s pleasant, to experience it via the senses, to eat, assimilate, gather and accumulate, to settle and to claim ownership and territory.
TAU slows down, after the fast and furious ARIES energy, and favours predictability and patience; therefore habits and routines are formed. Its orientation is very life affirming, yet can obviously lead to attachment to the known and comfortable, to the material and worldly plane in general, and to physical satisfaction, hoarding, and greed. TAU has a strong resistance to change and to pain.

SCORPIO (ruled by PLUTO) carries transformation medicine.
The fixed deep water sign SCO (picture: lake or pond or Ground Zero pool for that matter), in contrast to the ‘above ground’ Taurean world takes us to emotionally intense, uncomfortable, ‘ugly’ and painful places where the ‘muck’ and hidden, often covered or repressed emotional material sits.

Just as the leaves rot and go under the earth in late Oct – late Nov, the Scorpionic energy takes us to the ‘grand mystery’ of the intangible, and to emotionally deeply affecting processes that have nowhere to go but down and through, so that the alchemical work can be performed.
SCO penetrates the underground / underworld / underbelly, which can be a painful process (TAU – SCO also represent the pleasure – pain, and life – death axis). This is where deep ‘down under’ transformational ‘digestion’ of what’s actually already dead needs to happen, be purged, and eliminated.
Our very ‘human humus’ and shadow can’t be just ‘gotten rid of,’ or ‘hidden away’. It’s here to be fully processed, so that it becomes a ‘fertilizer’ for renewalThe Alchemy of Life.

Scorpio

SCORPIO is for the MOON the most ‘challenging’ sign.
While the MOON is considered ‘exalted’ in TAU, it is considered ‘in fall’ in SCO – here’s why:
The MOON represents emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and our needs and habits which by nature long for nourishment and sustenance.

TAURUS is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery and assimilation – intake through feeding and reliable presence… whereas SCO represents necessary detoxifying elimination, often through painful processes. That’s not what our Lunar side (representing also our Inner Child) is most comfortable with, to put it mildly.

Under a SCO MOON (whether we’re born with it, have it by astrological Progression for 2½ years every 29 years, or whether the MOON in SCO for 2½ days per month affects us), we’re instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge and to ‘get rid of’ what’s toxic and outlived, what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free in a deeper sense.
The process calls us to go into the ‘mouth of the monster’ and through its bowels even, while our head and ego might severely protest and resist.

A SCO MOON experience can lead us to the deepest abyss of our inner worlds, yet is an opportunity to take us through it, and be regenerated and transformed through the process.

Mother and Child, by Pablo Picasso (1921). Picasso *Oct 25, 1881 was born under a strong TAU (4 Planets) – SCO (Sun and Mercury) axis. Can you tell from his art and intense gaze?

The SCO- TAU Full Moon happens often close to Mother’s Day – last Sunday.
It’s ‘normal’ to have difficult feelings round mother(hood), as a mom or as a daughter / son, at this time of year – could be related to wounds around early bonding, abandonment, or abuse.

A time to go deep into the core of it,  and let the pain and woundedness   hat’s usually hidden  process, for transformation – which takes its time…

So much ARIES activation recently, and continuously via CHIRON too – encouraging us to be authentic in our process
(no sugarcoating, and playing nice).

And (as you can see in the chart below, and prob sense in ‘real life) soo much TAU now – VENUS / URANUS, also exact tomorrow May 18, and SUN / MERCURY (exact May 21) –
with URANUS being the main and ‘lasting’ one (until 2026) encouraging and ‘kicking’ us like Buddha the Awakener into freedom from the known and attached, and into embodying the liberation.
A theme for the coming 7 years still – we’re just on the brink of it. Esp. relevant for all our fixed sign themes (Sun / Moon / AC / Planets in TAU, LEO, SCO, and AQ). I’m sure you’ve noticed…

The SCO / TAU Wesak Full Moon each year is a fully solar illumined (therefore the most potent) SCO MOON that reveals our deepest needs for transformation.

With our conscious Self (represented by the SUN) we have to patiently stay and ‘sit with’ (TAU quality) what comes up from the depth, for the processing.

Astro~Alchemy sessions are here to help you shed light on things from deep levels, and get the process going.
Get in touch with me if you’d like to hear more about it, or discuss how it can be beneficial for you.
Or – esp. if you’re already my client let’s directly book a session at this potent time of year. Get in touch with me via my FB page (link on the bottom).
I’m en route for 6 weeks, and available online (no attachment to meeting me physically in Victoria 🙂 )

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the peaceful Buddha floating on a (Taurean) Lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully while rooted in the (Scorpionic) mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality, rooted in real-life human suffering and compassion.

  • Where do your swampy roots show up, these days?
  • Can you ‘sit’ with it all, open to the light of consciousness?
  • And how can you dwell in the Buddha hub of calm within enjoyment and pain?

The Wesak Full Moon is a magnificent divine and meditative moment-in-time, when transformation (SCO) can be anchored (TAU).
Our attachment to desires and longing for what we want and don’t have, or ‘even’ to pain / suffering / complaining / feeding those ‘hungry ghosts’ (TAU – SCO) that show up in obvious or subtle personal and collective / cultural addictions and compulsions (more consumption, information, work, entertainment, nothing’s ever enough…).
All these manifestations of  attachments can be put into the bonfire of the soul (SCO) so that the deep Alchemy can do its job.

YinYang Infinite

The YIN-YANG is a perfect symbol for balancing the Yin / Lunar and Yang / Solar influences in us, under each Full Moon, esp. under this astrologically potent (SCO – TAU) and spirited Wesak Moon.

As above so below and within….
We ARE the field, and the buddhic catalysts for evolution and liberation…

Here is the astrological Wesak Full Moon chart:

As you see, the SCO MOON ‘sits’ all by herself, only aspected by the opposition to the SUN / MERCURY (while everybody else seems to have a good time…).
This could show up as encapsulated / exiled / repressed emotions that are now fully highlighted.
Do yourself a favour, slow down (TAU) and sit with what needs to be tended to, on deep levels.
No need to get stuck in the process – you can be carried through, and come out transformed and re-grounded in your Earth Body.

Looots of Earth in the chart and energy field these days!
With a supportive / opportune Earth Trine from the SUN / MERCURY in late TAU to SATURN retro / SN / PLUTO retro, clustered together in late CAP.
So here’s the opportunity to ‘Let the Old Empire Expire’ as I call the theme that’s concentrated these years 2019 / 20, with SATURN / PLUTO / South Node close together in CAP (esp this Spring, and again strong / culminating with the SAT – PLUTO conj. on Jan 12, 2020.
What’s your ‘old regime’ (hint: power / control themes)?

And to sit a la TAU with what’s here-now, enJoy Life with all its blossoming expressions – without getting attached. Basically, as the smiling Buddha would.

Plus, the SUN / MERCURY and the North Node in CAN form a rare Yod to JUPITER retro in SAG. A ‘celestial pointer’ / ‘Finger of God’ pointing to the inner Guru (JUPITER retro) – a wise, gentle & compassionate (CAN NN) and common sense (SUN / MERCURY in TAU) mentor. Like your grandmother… 🙂

VENUS in her Taurean abode meeting URANUS also tomorrow May 18 is a wake-up call to EnJoy EmBodying Freedom.
For some of us, this may mean the freedom from what’s been stifling and stuck, from old fears that have proven redundant when actually at the situation, and the alike. You may also be drawn to (VENUS) a new Freedom for… yet don’t get attached, experiment, and see.
Ultimately, as Krishnamurti would point out brilliantly(!), it’s about Freedom without an opposite (as in: from / for), since otherwise it pretends to be Freedom but isn’t the real deal. Fake Freedom so-to-say. Similarly – again quoting K., and enquiring myself: What is Love (VENUS) that has no opposite?
K’s Taurean human birthday was May 12.

That takes us full circle.

A good place to hand it over to the Wesak Moon herself…

Many Blessings now-as-always!
Melanie

Astrological Wesak Moon Apr 29, 2018: Let Buddha Nature Emerge!

28 Apr

WESAK MOON BLESSINGS,
Dear Reader in the Astrology ComMOONity!

The Wesak Moon is celebrated by the Buddhist world Sangha (community), in honour of the birth, attaining of enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Siddhartha, the Buddha, who walked the Earth more than 2500 years ago, and set a model for the Living Buddha in all of us.

Yes, the ‘Full Moon in May’ traditionally marks the Wesak Moon in Buddhist cultures and that falls this year actually only on May 29, with the MOON in SAG and the SUN in GEM.

I’d suggest to also honour and align with the SCORPIO MOON – TAURUS SUN polarity as the astrological Wesak Moon (see chart below).
It expresses the gist of basic Buddhist teachings, which in turn can help us understand and transform the core of the matter  with TAU – SCO!

One essential question in Buddhism is:
Why do we humans suffer, or are even ‘just’ dissatisfied / discontent

And yes, there’s a difference between physical pain and human suffering (which implies choice)!

The Buddhists would suggest two ‘ways out’ of the quagmire of suffering:
1) To be aware that nothing really lasts forever, everything is impermanent. This world of phenomena is in constant flux and change – we better get used to it, and become free through that realization.
2) Walking the ‘Middle Path’, a.k.a. the practice of the Noble 8-fold Path (right speech, right livelihood, right samadhi….) brings intrinsic happiness.

May the astrological Wesak Moon and the Buddhist Wesak Moon bring golden opportunities for insights and practice that set us FREE!

As above so below and within….
We ARE the field, and the buddhic catalysts for evolution and liberation…

Here is the Astrological Wesak Full Moon chart:

The FULL MOON will be exact at 5:58 pm PDT on Sunday Apr 29.
Our friends on the East Coast can experience the Full Moon (at 8:58 pm EDT) just after Moonrise!

Let’s see what the COSMIC MAP reveals:

The Full Moon holds the ground, and ‘underground’, through the fixed TAU – SCO axis.
We really need anchoring of wildly moving energies lately.
Once again, so much to process, esp. since mid-April:

  • The ARIES New Moon on Apr 15 came with ‘stormy’ MERCURY in ARIES (went direct on Apr 15) and SATURN in CAP (went retro on Apr 17) – both in sharp square with each other (exact this week, Apr 25) – ouch! Communication collisions / confrontations anyone?
No need to put up with patronizing put-downs. Yes to standing our ground in inner authority, calmly setting boundaries, and wisely backing off as discourses would turn into fights that are a waste of time and energy.
  • With CHIRON having entered ARIES on Apr 17 emerging from losing ourselves in overwhelm, chaos (PI) and showing up as our authentic Self is very healing, one baby step at a time. And, in CHIRON fashion, it teaches others what’s possible, and encourages them too.
  • As MARS in CAP passed SATURN on Apr 2, LILITH on Apr 17, and PLUTO on Apr 26, energy has been freed up from resistance, fear, giving power away to external authority, and is available for us to be in our authentic nature-all power. From there we can do the work with the energy we have – and work more smoothly and empowered with natural energy and resources (inner and outer).

So yeah, we’ve needed time to process and ‘sit with’ these themes, to be aware of their deeper nature, and to let them process and transmute, for their inner purpose.
The CAP Re-Purpose Alliance says: Transform (let Nature and Higher Power transform!) and use everything – for its highest purpose – always a game (or: out-of-game) changer!

Now What?
The Astro Wesak Full Moon in SCO – TAU, in its strong electromagnetic field around Planet Earth, catalyzes and ‘downloads’ the other cosmic dynamics:

For one, and most obviously (even literally, with the naked eye if skies are clear): JUPITER in SCO!

The Full Moon approaches JUPITER, and goes conjunct with it on Apr 30 at 12:11 pm PDT.
For reference, this is the only Full Moon that catalyzes JUPITER in SCO (Oct 10, 2017 – Nov 8, 2018), and reversely the only time this year a Full MOON gets charged up by JUPITER!
Since JUPITER entered SCO in Oct 2017 issues have been revealed that are usually going on behind the scenes / in the underground, and which evoke deep responses and show where profound change for the better is soo due (“Me too!” started just days after JU went into SCO, FB data privacy breach / Cambridge Analytics scandals, school shootings…).
Those and similar intimate / hidden / covered / emotionally painful processes are now coming back to be deeply felt (SCO Full Moon) and transmuted from within (JU retro). This leads to empowerment from within, which has to do with self respect and being respected (JU sextile with LILITH / PLUTO / MARS in CAP).

13 Indigenous Grandmothers, with the white scarves offered to them by HH the Dalai Lama…

Speaking of respect and CAP:
The TAU SUN is in trine with SATURN retro in CAP, calling for common sense (not to be mixed up with maintaining the status quo).

What would the Earth and the Elders say???

In consult sessions with clients who have placements in CAP and a transit from PLUTO, I often ask them: How would Mother Earth be with this phase or situation of yours?
Going deeply into such an inquiry can restore living from Natural Law – which might appear simpler and slower, more patient, going with one’s natural rhythms and cycles, respecting our inner nature and Nature more. Being more sustainable in the long run.

The SUN has for one week ‘settled’ into the Taurean season (since Apr 19) after passing URANUS (on Apr 18):
Be conscious, awake and fresh in the NOW – this is IT, you are HERE!

URANUS is still close to the SUN, so we experience the polar opposite to the super deep (JUPITER enhanced) SCO Full MOON the bright liberating Solar / Uranian consciousness!
What a polarity to integrate – what a sacred marriage of rich, fertile Inner Depth and bright outer Light!

URANUS will actually enter TAU for its first phase, on the DAY of the TAU New Moon, May 15 (until Nov 6, and then fully from March 6, 2019 on, until 2025 / 26).
That’s Big News – one of the major shifts of 2018 / 19!
And this is the Full Moon that brings it out already, on the side of the SUN in early TAU!

This is to the Buddha Nature that reveals itself always freshly – in Nature and in YOU!
Even (often especially) in and through our darkest times!

The Sun Rules Leo – Painting by Johfra Bosschart

As you see in the chart, the Full Moon axis of MOON (close to JUPITER) in SCO and SUN in TAU (close to URANUS) squares the North Node of the Moon in LEO (and hence also the South Node in AQ)!
Astrologically a fixed T-square / Grand Cross (with SN extension)!

Lots of tension / stress that’s been built up, held, contained, and stuck (fixed) calls to be creatively expressed through ‘the best of LEO’ – a loving Heart, generosity, and childlike playfulness!

Show yourself more fully from your Heart, and in your true colours (rather than overcompensating with ‘trying to look good) – and of course, that includes the darker sides too which teach us so much, and transmute ‘muck’ into Gold.

Understandably free loving self expression doesn’t always come easy and natural like this right away… Start with giving yourself permission to express and purge your otherwise hidden and controlled ‘dark feelings’.
Like yep, as I said above, no need to put up with abuse of power and lack of integrity. Let your Inner Child show you what’s hurtful, and be a good Inner Parent / Inner Elder (SATURN now retro) to him / her. See where the process goes, and let the Heart lead!

Less is more, when it comes to AQ South Node low vibrations / qualities that drain us:
Being dissociated, alienated, indifferent, blase – arrogant, remote, or just watching the show of others’ fun and playful creativity without creatively playing ourselves.

So yeah, the Inner Buddha is the Loving and Beloved Child in us!

Come join us at our WESAK MOON Astro Circle on Sunday eve!

Indoors for the Astro ComMOONity part – with everyone’s chart involved, and outdoors thereafter if skies are clear to greet the risen FULL MOON over the ocean.
You and your friends are welcome (esp. but not exclusively with SCO – TAU in your chart) in person if you’re in Victoria or of course online!
Please let others know about it too. Merci!

Let Buddha Nature Manifest!
Love & Blessings on this Astrological Wesak Moon – and Beyond!

Wesak Moon Days of ‘Incubation’ and Distribution :: Sitting as Buddha Nature Sets us Free!

10 May

The day of the WESAK MOON is here… (see my yesterday’s post).
Today, I felt called to shed more light on the tradition, and how we can bring it ‘back home’ here-now:

In the Buddhist community, the Full Moon in May is celebrated as the Buddha’s birthday, attaining of enlightenment, and leaving of the earthly incarnation.
Here’s probably the best web article about Wesak / Vesak (from good old crystalinks).

With the WESAK MOON, the astrological TAURUS – SCORPIO axis is powerfully illumined every year.

SCORPIO is the the MOON the most ‘challenging’ sign (while the MOON is considered ‘exalted’ in yummy, nourishing TAURUS – so strong this year with the TAURUS NEW MOON – is is considered ‘in fall’ in SCORPIO):
The MOON represents our emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and the needs and habits developed from that place, which by nature long for nurturance and sustenance (it all started in the womb).
TAURUS is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery and assimilation (just like nature in Spring). Whereas SCORPIO rules necessary detoxifying elimination, partly through painful processes – which is not what our Lunar (representative also of the Inner Child) self is most comfortable with – to put it mildly.

Under a SCORPIO MOON (whether we’re born with it, have it by progression (for 2 1/2 years every 29 years), or whether the MOON in SCORPIO for 2 1/2 days per month affects us, we are instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge, and get rid of what is toxic and outlived, what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free in a deeper sense. The process may call us to go into the ‘mouth of the monster’, and through its bowels even, while our head and ego might severely protest and resist. A SCOPRIO MOON experience can lead us to the deepest abyss of our inner worlds, yet is an opportunity to take us through it, and be regenerated and transformed through the process. Psychotherapy and initiation happens, whether in a formal or informal setting…

The SCORPIO – TAURUS WESAK MOON each year is a fully solar illumined (therefore most potent) SCORPIO MOON that reveals our deepest needs for transformation.
Consciousness (represented by the SUN) has to be intent to patiently stay and sit with (TAURUS) what comes up from the depth, for the processing. I that sense, the polarity axis of TAU and SCO can be bridged in complementary, cooperative, and productive ways.

The central spiritual (esp. Buddhist) themes of attachment vs. transformation are being highlighted in the ‘Bull’s Eye’ and the ‘Scorpion’s Stinger’, which could look like:

  • Fighting with the inner dragon (the ‘inner monster’ always growing more heads as one might be slayed / one issue might be ‘dealt with’), and / or sooo much inner painful processing – the suffering version of the SCO MOON side, in its outer yang and inner yin version,
  • Dealing with the inner ‘hungry ghosts’, as Buddhists would call it: Our mouth, and all our sense organs in general, can only take in so much, yet the belly of desire is big and insatiable… – that’s the suffering on the TAU side: In an outer yang way, through consuming, pur-chasing(!), acquiring more and more, while never being satisfied, and in an a yin way: trying to attract and you never feel good enough…

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the Buddha floating on a Taurean lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully, while rooted in the Scorpionic mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality of having gone through, and continuing to go through deep processes, The embodiment of the enlightened consciousness continues and sustains.

The WESAK Moon is a very potent opportunity for attunement to, receptivity and assimilation of cosmic energies, meditation, and openness for transformational change. It offers a strong reception, safeguarding, and distribution of spiritual energy on the Earth plane, from many dimensions and traditions..
Its effects extend over time.

Speaking of time: The spiritually auspicious WESAK Full Moon in its charged SCO – TAU energy has been building up well before, and is still available well after the exact alignment, as it requires and also helps us to ground ourselves (TAU) in consciousness (SUN), even in the apparent, perceived (MOON) predicament and abyss around us (SCO).

So let’s be present with what IS (which includes inner and overpowering ‘external’ demons), while sustaining a vision for humanity, together with others (the universal Sangha = spiritual community)!

Heart_Meditation

In esoteric traditions, the day of the WESAK Festival is dedicated as a ‘Day of Safeguarding’, followed by two Days  of Distribution.

In short, on the WESAK Moon Day (of Safeguarding), the spiritual community is called to regard themselves as recipients and custodians if as much of that inflowing spiritual force as they can possibly hold.
This corresponds with the quality and capacity of fixed signs, and is a perfect expression for the SCO MOON, this year active from Tue May 9 until the morning of Thu May 11 (9:59 am PDT), and peaking at the exact FULL MOON (today Wed May 10 at 2:42 pm PDT).
In other words, the whole span of the SCO MOON time is a ‘safeguarding’ energy.

In the Days of Distribution following the Festival, it is suggested to turn the attention away from one’s inner subjective planes, in order to pass on the spiritual energy that has been received, ‘to whom it may concern’ / who comes into our ‘field’.
This corresponds with the mutable, distributing, and ‘broadcasting’ SAG MOON that follows the SCO MOON ‘container’. The MOON will cross this year over the ‘Phoenix Point’ into SAG at 9:59 am PDT on Thu May 11, and be in SAG until Sat May 13 at 10:37 pm PDT.

May the Spirit of the WESAK MOON transmute us, rise, and find its way!
May we recognize the source of suffering, and be FREE!

May love, kindness, and peace be in you and me, and ALL!
WESAK MOON Blessings!

Wesak Moon 2017: Freedom from the Known Mind – Let Buddha Nature Emerge!

9 May

WESAK MOON BLESSINGS, dear Reader in the Astrology ComMOONity!

Yes, the ‘Full Moon in May’ marks the Wesak Moon in Buddhist cultures. And that will be this year May 10 / 11.

Astrologically, the SCORPIO MOON – TAURUS SUN polarity of the Wesak Moon (see chart below) actually expresses the gist of basic Buddhist teachings:

Why do we humans suffer, or are even ‘just’ dissatisfied (‘dukkha’)?
Because our attachments to what we desire, and its frustration – not getting what we want, and not being able to get rid of the unwanted and painful. Very TAURUS – SCORPIO.
The Buddhists would suggest 2 ‘ways out’ of the quagmire:
1) To be aware that nothing really lasts forever, everything is impermanent; this world of phenomena is in constant flux and change – we better get used to it, and free through that.
2) The ‘Middle Path’, translated into the Noble 8-fold Path one is invited to go by (right speech, right livelihood, right samadhi….) brings intrinsic happiness.

Back to the Full Moon theme of  TAURUS / SCORPIO:

Fixed, earthy TAURUS (ruled by VENUS) is all about embodiment, enjoyment, and sensuality.
Immersed in the realm of  TAURUS, as in the full bloom of Spring, we celebrate the physical senses, comfort and pleasure, everything that creates security and grounding, and grows over time, like a garden or a solid investment. Taurean energy takes roots, builds, cultivates, and conserves, like a gardener, farmer, and good custodian of the Earth. TAU likes to attract what’s pleasant, to experience it via the senses, to eat, assimilate, gather and accumulate, and to claim ownership and territory.

TAU slows down, after the fast and furious ARIES energy, and favours predictability and patience; therefore habits and routines are formed. Its orientation is very life affirming, yet can lead to stuckness, attachment to the known and comfortable, to the material and worldly plane in general, and to physical satisfaction, hording, stuckness, and greed.

SCORPIO (ruled by PLUTO) carries transformation medicine.
The fixed deep water sign SCO (ruled by PLUTO),  in contrast to the ‘above ground’ Taurean world, takes us to emotionally intense, uncomfortable, ‘ugly’ places where the ‘muck’ and hidden, often covered or repressed emotional material sits.

This is where deep ‘down under’ transformational ‘digestion’ of something that is actually already dead needs to happen, be purged, and released.

While the MOON is considered ‘exalted’ in TAU, it is considered ‘in fall’ in SCO:

The MOON represents our emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and our needs and habits which by nature long for nourishment and sustenance.

TAU is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery and assimilation – intake through feeding and reliable presence… whereas SCO rules necessary detoxifying elimination, often through painful processes, which is not what our Lunar side (representing also our Inner Child) is most comfortable with, to put it mildly.

Under a SCO MOON (whether we are born with it, have it by progression for 2½ years every 29 years, or whether the MOON in SCO for 2½ days per month affects us), we are instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge and to ‘get rid of’ what is toxic and outlived, what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free in a deeper sense.

Mother and Child, by Pablo Picasso (1921)

Hmm, the SCO Full Moon also happens often (definitely this year) close to Mother’s Day (May 14). It’s ‘normal’ to feel difficult things round mother(hood), as a mom or as a daughter / son, at this time of year – could be related to early bonding, and wounds of abandonment / abuse.

So important to allow ourselves to go deep into the core of it (maybe with professional support), and let the pain and woundedness process. So much ARIES activation recently – let’s be authentic (no sugarcoating, and playing nice) in our process.

The SCO / TAU Wesak Full Moon each year is a fully solar illumined (therefore the most potent) SCO MOON that reveals our deepest needs for transformation.

SO worth (TAU) entering into the core of our frustrated needs, and invite deep transformation.

With our conscious Self (represented by the SUN) we have to patiently stay and ‘sit with’ (TAU quality) what comes up from the depth, for the processing.

‘Mother’s Month’ Astrology session can help you shed light on your Mother Themes, and get the process going. Sessions for moms or for everyone with a Mother themed focus are 20% off until end of May. Bali Lotus Morning Prayer HH

Early Morning Prayer – Lotus with Orb – Photography by Helga Hendricks

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the peaceful Buddha floating on a (Taurean) Lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully while rooted in the (Scorpionic) mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality, rooted in real-life human suffering and compassion.

Where do your swampy roots show up, these days? Can you ‘sit’ with it all, open to the light of consciousness?

The Wesak Full Moon is a magnificent divine and meditative moment-in-time, when transformation (SCO) can be anchored (TAU).
Our attachment to desires and longing, or ‘even’ to pain, incl. feeding those ‘hungry ghosts’ (TAU) that show up in obvious or subtle personal and collective / cultural addictions and compulsions (more consumption, information, work, entertainment, nothing is never enough…) can be put into the bonfire of the soul (SCO), so that the deep Alchemy can do its job.

YinYang Infinite

The YIN-YANG is a perfect symbol for a balancing the Yin / Lunar and Yang / Solar influences in us, under each Full Moon, esp. under this astrologically potent (SCO – TAU) and spirited Wesak Moon.

As above so below and within….we ARE the field, and the buddhic catalysts for evolution and liberation…

Here is the Wesak Full Moon chart:

Wesak Moon SCO - TAU FM 2017

Let’s see what the COSMIC MAP reveals:

The Full Moon holds the ground, and ‘underground’, through the fixed TAU – SCO axis – no planets in fixed signs – We really need anchoring of wildly moving energy these days!
And, as always with a Full Moon or New Moon, it catalyzes the other energies in the cosmic energy field:

  • Dynamic FIRE is still the strongest element: VENUS, MERCURY / URANUS ignite us in ARIES, North Node in LEO, LILITH and SATURN (retro) in SAG. Let’s be authentic, express who we are, and follow the Heart & Spirit!
There’s even a ‘Grand Fire Trine’ of MERCURY / URANUS, North Node, and SATURN – with an exact trine between the ‘key players’ SATURN and URANUS, on May 18 (second of 3 times: Dec 24, 2016, May 18 and Nov 2, 2017):
So rewarding to say NO (SATURN) to more, more, more / anything goes / excessive abundance for its own sake (even as addictive overwhelm – SATURN comes out of a square with CHIRON in PI) when the heart isn’t with a certain ‘deal’, or it’s not ones path anymore (SATURN in SAG). It opens the door for authenticity, and being in the moment – which brings abundant serendipitous gifts when we are free (URANUS in ARIES).

  • The TAU SUN is in trine with PLUTO retro in CAP, calling for common sense (not to be mixed up with maintaining the status quo). What would the Earth and the Elders say???

11 of the 13 Indigenous Grandmothers, with the white scarf offered to them by HH the Dalai Lama…

  • MARS in GEMINI is also a key player in the cosmic game these days: MARS will be in exact square with NEPTUNE in PI on May 11, followed by a lofty Air trine with JUPITER retro in LIBRA on May 12: As mentioned before, MARS in GEMINI and MERCURY / URANUS in ARIES have something going on together. To say the least, they generate a lot of brain storm… rather than getting all agitated and even mentally aggressive, let’s see what we can learn, and what would be not only a good question to ask, but deeper inquiry to engage in, a la Buddha: Sooo, who really are YOU? And who were you, before you were conceived????
With the square from MARS to NEPTUNE, there may be a conflict between super active mind and ultimate surrender. Let the wind play on the waves. The ocean prevails… Then, when MARS trines JUPITER in LIBRA, we may enjoy ‘smooth sailing’ in perfect balance, or we are perhaps ready to make a wise choice…
MERCURY will enter TAU on May 15 – the mind can settle…

  • VENUS is also activating AR still for a while – until June 6, and making some juicy contacts with other planetary players: A Fire trine with LILITH in SAG on May 14, an opposition with JUPITER retro in LI on May 19, a square with PLUTO retro in CAP on May 25, the exact day of the next New Moon, another Fire trine with SATURN retro in SAG on June 1, and for the grand finale, a conjunction with URANUS, on June 3 (once a year)!
Let’s channel the energy that can be a draw to much quick newness but nothing sticks and is sustainable rather into a higher vibration of: In Love with Liberation from (and through) the Depth!
The VENUS connection with LILITH and SATURN helps with following the call of the Heart, and the dynamic with JUPITER retro to make wise authentic choices ‘from the inside out’.

Lastly, let’s take a look at the oracular SABIAN SYMBOLS of the Full Moon degree. Since the Full Moon is exactly between 20° and 21° (20°24 SCO), I suggest to draw guidance from both degrees, which, as it reveals, is also balanced synergy:

Triple Goddess

SCORPIO 20°:
A WOMAN DRAWS AWAY TWO DARK CURTAINS CLOSING THE ENTRANCE TO A SACRED PATHWAY.

KEYNOTE: The revelation to the human consciousness of what lies beyond dualistic knowledge.

The “Woman within” — the faith that is rooted in the deepest intuitions of the soul — is seen here as the hierophant unveiling the realities which the either-or, pro-and-con mind of man alone cannot perceive. The path to the mystic’s “unitive life” is opened up once the darkness of fear, egocentricity and dualistic morality is removed.

This is the last symbol of the forty-sixth five-fold sequence. It reveals what a positive reliance upon faith and intuition can bring about. Courage is needed to go through the veiling darkness — the courage to venture beyond the familiar and the traditionally known, to PLUNGE AHEAD INTO THE UNKNOWN.

So apropos VENUS and MERCURY / URANUS in ARIES, as well as the dark and mystical SCO Full Moon! What a metaphor!

Prometheus – the Archetype of URANUS – Bringing the Fire of the Gods to Humanity

SCORPIO 21°:
OBEYING HIS CONSCIENCE, A SOLDIER RESISTS ORDERS.

KEYNOTE: A readiness to face the results of a refusal to follow the authoritarian patterns of an aggressive society.

As a person finds himself involved in activities which are traditional in his particular culture — and in many instances in all societies at this stage of human evolution — he often faces a conflict between his own individual sense of value (his conscience) and the demands of society. The conflict may be most typical in terms of the armed services — thus this symbol. In it we find the individual asserting his own values, though he cannot escape the consequences of his decision. In such a case he has to be quietly ready to face these consequences, whatever the cost.

This is the first stage in the forty-seventh five-fold sequence of phases in the great cyclic ritual of activity. The issue it presents is clear. Society in this situation seems to be all-powerful; yet the individual need not be spiritually bound, even if imprisoned. He still can display INNER FREEDOM and prove himself an “individual.”

Very Uranian / Promethean… Free in relation to societal conditioning, yet even more so: ultimately FREE.

* Wesak Effects Days of Safeguarding and Distribution – From the Pure, Universe-All Heart

21 Apr

The Wesak Moon of the Buddha (Full Moon in SCO – TAU, exact today Apr 21 at 10:24 pm PDT) – full description: see yesterday’s blog post) offers a very potent time for receptivity, assimilation, and attunement to the cosmic energies, meditation and openness to transformational change.

Its effects extend over several months, some people say until the next Wesak Moon, a year later.

Heart_Meditation

The spiritually auspicious Wesak Full Moon in its charged SCO – TAU energy has been building up well before, and is still available well after the exact alignment, as it requires and also helps us to ground ourselves, even in the apparent predicament and abyss of it all. So let’s be present with what IS, even with overpowering inner and ‘external’ demons, while sustaining a vision for humanity, together with others (the universal Sangha = spiritual community)!

In esoteric traditions the day of the Wesak Festival starts with the “Day of Safeguarding”, followed by two succeeding “Days of Distribution” (see http://www.souledout.org/wesak/wesakfestival16/wesakfminvite.html).

In short, on the Wesak Moon day (of Safeguarding), the spiritual community is called to regard themselves as recipients and custodians of as much of that inflowing spiritual force as they can possibly hold. This corresponds with the quality and capacity of fixed signs, and is a perfect expression for the SCO / TAU Full Moon, this year active from Thu Apr 21 at 5:17 pm PDT until Sun Apr 24 at 5:46 am PDT, peaking at the exact Full Moon, at 10:24 pm PDT on Thu Apr 21.

In the following Days of Distribution, it is suggested to turn the attention away from one’s inner subjective planes, in order to pass on the spiritual energy that has been received, ‘to whom it may concern’. This corresponds with the mutable, distributing and ‘broadcasting’ SAG MOON that follows the SCO MOON ‘container’, and will be active from Sun Apr 24 at 5:46 am PDT to Tue Apr 26 at 4:54 pm PDT.

Since the theme of the Days of Distribution is very apropos astrological mutable energy the multiple mutable T-Square can be used for a higher purpose:

4 R

Johfra Bosschart: Sagittarius

The post-Full SAG MOON will meet MARS retro on Sun / Mon Apr 24 / 25, connect with SATURN retro on Mon Apr 25, and will also square NEPTUNE in PI and JUPITER in VIR (plus the Nodal Axis) on Mon Apr 25, and CHIRON in PI on Tue Apr 26.

So rather than ‘shooting arrows of righteousness’ which doesn’t contribute (except to the problem perhaps) or distribute good energy even though it’s omnipresent these polarized times, where issues around ‘the right way / politics / direction’ are very charged and keep the concept of separation going:
How about committing (SATURN) to pulling the energy inwards (MARS retro) towards the Heart, and aiming from there?

  • What are you truly grateful in your Heart?
  • What does Love Say?
  • Surround yourself with Nature, be in the Green – and feel how Mother Nature stimulates your Green Heart Chakra!

How about a Chakra Attunement into the Heart – with the Mutable Planets?

Root yourself well (Saturn supports the Root Chakra and vice versa).

Feel fulfilled in your Jupiterian Sacral belly that nourishes your Solar Plexus life force.

Intentionally pull the Martian Solar Plexus Warrior energy up into the Venusian Heart Chakra. Neptune is the higher frequency – Universe-All Love~

In our Astrological Wesak Moon Circle this evening, let’s Chakra attune together, in our outdoor circle by the Stone Circles, before Moonrise!

Back in the studio, let’s connect with the astrological opportunities of distributing the Wesak energies – unique for each one of us, according to our charts!

And let us be guided by the magical SCORPIO MOON in the unfolding!

ASTROLOGICAL WESAK MOON 2015

2 May

‘Buddha’s Full Moon’ on May 3, 2015:

LET BUDDHA NATURE MANIFEST!

Bali Lotus Morning Prayer HH

Early Morning Prayer – Lotus with Orb – Photography by Helga Hendricks

The Buddhist community celebrates every year the Full Moon in May as the Wesak Moon: The Buddha’s birthday, attaining of enlightenment, and leaving of the earthly incarnation. Excellent article: http://www.crystalinks.com/wesak.html

The Wesak Moon in most years (if it happens before May 20) highlights the Taurus – Scorpio polarity astrologically whose themes are aligned with the core of the Buddhist teachings (‘Four Noble Truths’):

The basic suffering or even just basic dissatisfaction (‘dukkha’) in the human condition are due to attachment and its frustration (not getting what one wants, and not being able to get rid of the unwanted).

This is also a basic Taurus / Scorpio theme:

Taurus (ruled by Venus) represents desire, pleasure, comfort, joy, erotic attraction and assimilation through the senses (with the shadow of attachment to the material and worldly plane and to physical satisfaction, hording, stuckness, greed, stinginess).

Scorpio (ruled by Pluto) on the opposite side of Taurus takes us to emotionally intense and uncomfortable places where the ‘muck’ and hidden, often covered or repressed material sits. This very ‘human humus’ and shadow can’t be just ‘gotten rid of’ or ‘hidden away. However its purpose is to be spiritually processed so that it becomes a ‘fertilizer’ for renewal – the Alchemy of life.

Scorpio has been quite the ‘boot camp’ for humanity also, under Saturn in Scorpio (since Oct 2012, until Dec 2014, and a ‘residual processing phase’ from June 14 – Sept 17, 2015 is coming up). The Saturn influence – soon back into Scorpio – is an incentive to get to the bottom of things and purge, and also a karmic harvest: find completion and closure.

The peaceful Buddha ‘beyond satisfaction’ sits on a beautiful Lotus flower (SUN in TAU) that has its roots in the ‘deep, dark and dirty’ pond (MOON in SCO), which can be also seen as a Tantric symbol of Yin/Yang union.

The paragraphs below *** expand on the Wesak Moon theme…

YinYang Infinite

The Yin-Yang is a perfect symbol for a balancing the Yin and Yang / Lunar and Solar influences in us under each Full Moon, but esp. under this very astrologically potent (SCO – TAU) and spirited Wesak Moon.

The Wesak Full Moon is a magnificent divine and meditative moment when transformation (SCO) can be anchored (TAU), and attachment to longing or to pain incl. feeding those ‘hungry ghosts’ (TAU) that show up in obvious or subtle personal and collective / cultural addictions and compulsions (more consumption, information, work, entertainment is never enough…) can be put into the bonfire of the soul (SCO) for the Alchemy to do its job.

Here is the Full Moon chart:

Wesak Moon 2015

Let’s see what the chart reveals:

The exact Fixed T-square of Sun (next to Mars) in TAU, Moon in SCO, and Jupiter in LEO shows us where pressures building up, in the domains of

  • Desire to have, own, build security (TAU)
  • Desire to create, be seen and loved (LEO)
  • Desire to go into deep, intimate, transformational places (SCO).

…which makes centering very challenging, yet rewarding (if not mandatory).

Can you feel the tugs, and yet the need to stay centered?

Jupiter in mid LEO (13º34’) as the apex of the Wesak Full Moon T-square (see chart) offers an outlet for the tension.

What an amazing Sabian Symbol for

14º Leo:

“A HUMAN SOUL SEEKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUTWARD MANIFESTATION.

Cornucopia Fractal

Keynote: The yearning for self-actualization.

Behind the many rhythms and drives of individual existence, beyond the child, the adult, and the old person, stands the soul seeking always to manifest itself through the personality. This is the transpersonal urge of the spirit, expressing itself in many ways during the whole life span. But most avenues are blocked, and the soul waits until it can wait no longer. Then comes the dramatic release, which may mean a joyous carnival or madness.

This… stage… brings a transcendental clue to the technique of living: Let the soul speak out! Allow the power of the true tone of your being to manifest itself smoothly, easily, unobstructed – or expect a variety of consequences. LET the soul manifest!”

What a powerful statement, as an outlet for the Wesak Moon tension!!!

Also in the signature of the Wesak Moon ‘matrix’:

MERCURY now in GEMINI is a flighty and ‘centrifugal’ draw to the sirens’ of inner and outer voices and quest(ion)s, tons of information, options, and choices that overstimulate our mind, vitally enhanced by the omnipresent communication cloud. So much to ‘check out’ and to sample.

Guess what? Mercury will also go retrograde in Gemini soon (May 18 – June 11), and its pre-retro shadow phase starts – on May 4!
More about the Mercury retro itinerary in the Wesak Moon AstroNews.

MERCURY will square NEPTUNE in PI 3 times, on May 9, 29 (in retro) and June 23. Let’s be extra mindful of how our energy gets drained when we let this flighty yet highly addictive ‘cloud’ have its way with us. It might take us nowhere except to superficial cruising. However letting the ‘monkey mind’ surrender (I picture a monkey with a white flag, for fun…) re-connects us to Oneness and in ‘the field’ that allows spirit to guide us (rather than ‘squirreling’ around).

As always, the Mercury retro phase is about ‘RE-adjusting’ Mind to its function of serving Consciousness (as represented by the SUN), not the other way round.

CHIRON / NEPTUNE in PI remind us that allowing and being with what IS in Oneness Consciousness offers healing and is a profound timeless teaching.

Buddha Nature is everywhere, just as nature by nature is always in interconnected union, yet it can’t be held or grasped…(even photographs are merely frozen moments in the flow of life…).

Let Buddha Nature Manifest!

*** More astrological info about the SCO – TAU Wesak Moon, and its distribution:

From fixed T-square to mutable T-square

Scorpio is for the Moon the most ‘challenging’ sign (while the Moon is considered ‘exalted’ in Taurus, it is considered ‘in fall’ in Scorpio):

The Moon represents our emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and the needs and habits developed from that place, which by nature long for nurturance and sustenance.

Taurus is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery and assimilation – it’s all about feeding and reliable presence… whereas Scorpio rules necessary detoxifying elimination, partly through painful processes, which is not what our Lunar (representing also the inner child) side is most comfortable with, to put it mildly.

Under a Scorpio Moon (whether we are born with it, have it by progression for 2½ years every 29 years, or whether the Moon in Scorpio for 2½ days per month affects us), we are instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge and to ‘get rid of’ what is toxic and outlived, of what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free in a deeper sense. The process calls us to go into the ‘mouth of the monster’ and through its bowels even, while our head and ego might severely protest and resist. A Scorpio Moon experience can lead us to the deepest abyss of our inner worlds, yet is an opportunity to take us through it, and be regenerated and transformed through the process.

The Scorpio / Taurus Wesak Moon each year is a fully solar illumined (therefore the most potent) Scorpio Moon, which brings revelation about our deepest notions for transformation.

Consciousness (represented by the Sun) has to be intent to patiently stay and ‘sit with’ (Taurus quality) what comes up from the depth, for the processing. In that sense, the polarity axis of Taurus and Scorpio can be bridged in complementary, cooperative, and productive ways.

The central spiritual (esp. Buddhist) themes of attachment & transformation are being highlighted in the ‘Bull’s Eye’ and the ‘Scorpion’s Stinger’:

The fixed earth sign Taurus (ruled by Venus) celebrates the physical senses, comfort and pleasure, and what creates security and grows over time, like a garden or a solid investment. Taurean energy takes roots, builds, cultivates, and conserves, like a gardener, farmer, and good custodian of the Earth. Taurus likes to attract what’s pleasant, to experience it via the senses, to eat, assimilate and accumulate, and to claim ownership and territory. Taurus slows down, after the fast and furious Aries energy, and favors predictability and patience; therefore habits and routines are likely being formed. Its orientation is very life affirming, yet can lead to stuckness, attachment to the known and comfortable, hence has a challenge with change and letting go.

The fixed deep water sign Scorpio (ruled by Pluto) in contrast to the ‘above ground’ Taurean world, penetrates the underground / underworld / underbelly, which can be a painful process (Taurus – Scorpio also represent the pleasure – pain, and life – death axis), yet sharply points out where deep ‘down under’ transformational ‘digestion’ and purging release of something that is actually already dead needs to happen, so that it can become a fertilizer for new life.

Just as in late Oct – late Nov the leaves rot and go under the earth, the Scorpionic energy takes us to emotionally deeply affecting processes that have nowhere to go but down and through, so that the alchemical work can be performed.

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the Buddha floating on a (Taurean) lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully while being rooted in the (Scorpionic) mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality of having gone through and continuing going through deep processes. The embodiment of the enlightened consciousness continues and sustains.

The Sun – Moon Full Moon tension in Scorpio / Taurus sheds light from an astrological perspective on the Wesak theme every year. It offers a strong reception, safeguarding, and distribution of spiritual energy on the Earth plane from many dimensions and traditions.

Wesak Moon

The Wesak Moon offers a very potent time for receptivity, assimilation, and attunement to the cosmic energies, meditation and openness to transformational change. Its effects extend over several months, some people say until the next Wesak Moon, a year later.

The spiritually auspicious Wesak Full Moon in its charged Scorpio / Taurus energy has been building up well before and is still available well after the exact alignment, as it requires and also helps us to ground ourselves, even in the apparent predicament and abyss of it all. So let’s be present with what IS, even with overpowering inner and ‘external’ demons, while sustaining a vision for humanity, together with others (the universal Sangha = spiritual community)!

The Wesak Full Moon 2015 highlights 13º22’ Scorpio and Taurus (see chart).

The Sabian Symbol for 14º Scorpio (for the Moon) says,

“TELEPHONE LINEMEN AT WORK INSTALLING NEW CONNECTIONS.

Connection

Keynote: The need to establish new channels of communication.

The growth of community feeling among separated human beings requires the development of constantly more complex means of interchanging feelings and ideas. Wherever this symbol is found, the indication is that such channels of communication are essential for the success of any interpersonal relationship. They are not only to be built, but to be used significantly and wisely.

This… symbol brings to our attention the essential value of communicating with our fellow-men and even our close associates – with whom such a communication may not always be easy. There can be no communion without communication at some level, including the level of biological attunement.
Keyword: The WILL to ASSOCIATION or COMPREHENSION.”

This points us to use the Scorpionic transformation for new ways of hearing, listening, comprehending, responding, commun(icat)ing…

Sounds like Mercury in Gemini opposing Saturn in SAG retro on May 3 – and Mercury retrograde foreshadowing to me…

Here is a corresponding quote by J. Krishnamurti that just ‘popped up’ this evening in a small booklet from the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada:

“We can understand our problems only if we have the capacity to listen, to pay full attention, and such attention is not possible if we are seeking an end, an answer. There is attention only when the mind is really quiet, and then it is able to receive, to comprehend; but a mind that is occupied with its own answers that is caught up in the search for a result is never quiet, and such a mind is incapable of full attention. So I think it is important to listen with full attention, not just to what is being said, but to everything in life, for only then is the mind free to discover that is true and find out if there is something beyond its inventions.”

The Gemini (Mercury) – Sag (Saturn) opposition is also very apropos what follows the exact Wesak Moon:

In esoteric traditions (see http://www.wesak.us/articles.php), the day of the Wesak Festival is considered the “day of safeguarding”, followed by 2 succeeding “days of distribution”.

In short, on the Wesak Moon day (of safeguarding), the spiritual community is called to regard themselves as recipients and custodians of as much of that inflowing spiritual force as they can possibly hold. This corresponds with the quality and capacity of fixed signs, and is a perfect expression for the Scorpio / Taurus Full Moon, this year active from Saturday May 2 at 6:47 pm PDT until Tue May 5 at 4:13 am PDT, peaking at the exact Full Moon, at 8:42 pm PDT on Sun May 3 (see chart).

In the days of distribution following the festival, it is suggested to turn the attention away from one’s inner subjective planes, in order to pass on the spiritual energy that has been received, ‘to whom it may concern’.

This corresponds with the mutable, distributing and ‘broadcasting’ Sagittarius Moon that follows the Scorpio Moon ‘container’ (active from Tue May 5 at 4:13 am PDT to Thu May 7 at 11:16 am PDT).

The days of distribution will be this year quite charged as well:

The SAG Moon will be on May 5 conjunct Saturn, opposite Mercury in Gemini, and square Neptune in Pisces – a mutable T-square (following the fixed T-square!)!

Outlet for this Gemini / Sag tension that can be quite ‘centrifugal’ (Sag can have an agenda, and knows what’s the way to go, Gemini questions and wonders…) is Neptune in Pisces:

Surrendering to Oneness in the quantum field, letting BE, letting GO, being okay with what-IS, being available without getting ‘hooked’, relaxing our attachments, and letting the universe unfold.
