What an intense and tension bearing ‘Blue’* Hallowe’en FULL MOON in TAURUS – SCORPIO on the horizon…!
* second one of the month, after the Harvest Moon on Oct 1

Lining up exactly(!) with URANUS, presently retro, and close to LILITH (also freshly in TAU).
The fixed TAU – SCO dynamic says: Don’t get stuck in power issues.
If you do feel trapped and fighting (old) power games no wonder.
But hey – we do have a choice to stop, go into conscious awareness of what’s going on on a deeper level (SCO), and find our place in the hub of the wheel / eye of the storm where all is ‘quiet’, sit with that (TAU), and be in our Power Centre.

Yes, liberating releases & breakthroughs are ready to happen. Surprises too…
An invitation to process things (esp what goes under the skin) on a deeper level (SCO), and to find & emBody unconditional Freedom from the inside-out (URANUS retro / Full MOON in TAU)!

OH – could be quite confrontational – if personal needs and wills come up against powers to be (no more!).
Hope you got in touch with the Inner authentic & awake Warrior Spirit to kick off something major. Come on, it’s IN you – has been in Humanity for eons. The time is NOW.
And tomorrow Oct 30, the pre-Full MOON just after entering TAU will meet LILITH – an instinctual energy that also feeds the Full MOON!
Be in your wild & free Nature, and follow the cues of your body!

 

So much energy has been built up, in conflicting and polarized directions, bumping up against each other.
Ready to be released (URANUS), and even more so, grounded and centered (TAU)!

In my sense, this FULL MOON with URANUS is one of the 3 most intense FULL MOONs of the year.
Besides the Harvest Moon with CHIRON & MARS (Oct 1 / 2) and the Lunar Eclipses on Jan 10 (in CAN – CAP) on June 5 (in SAG – GEM) and on July 4 (in CAP – CAN) and on July 27 (in AQ – LEO).

That all sounds quite dramatic, and you might want to crawl right under the comfy sheets – or ride the stormy waves of change if you’re more of a Scorpionic adventurer.

Well, we better are in 2020, since PLUTO, the ruler of SCO is a major, major catalyst, being met by JUPITER & SATURN, and the whole conglomerate of the three of them is moving together through the year (initiated by the historic SATURN – PLUTO alignment on Jan 12, and framed on the tail end of the year by the JUPITER – SATURN alignment at 1º AQ on Dec 21).

MOON / URANUS retro in early TAURUS: Wake UP, Earthlings!
Mother Earth and all of Nature shakes us up, evoking a Renaissance of Earth Consciousness.
And we’re invited (if not pushed) into new freedom, to fully ‘birth’ and embody our liberated Spirit, break old habits, and feed what nurtures us.
No more need to be ‘shackled’ by ‘consensus reality’, security attached stagnation / resignation or resistances in ourselves and reflected in our tribal environment.
What matters is to know you’re free, and to embody that!
How?
Well, through change that probably feels uncomfortable if not painful (SCO) at first, but we get the hang of it, and it’s actually liberating (URANUS). Like a detox…

After the last JUPITER – PLUTO alignment end of CAP on Nov 12  – indicating big change, from the core, and ground-UP -, we’re stirring towards the epic (every 20 years) JUPITER – SATURN conjunction at 1º AQ (ruled by URANUS!) on Winter Solstice, Dec 21 (just 2 hrs & 20 min after the exact Solstice)!

Sabian Symbols for the Full Moon

Four of them this time, since the SUN & MOON (with URANUS) are right in the middle of degrees.

Let’s start with the TAURUS side:
The MOON & URANUS retro are at 8º38′ / 8º41′ TAU.

TAURUS 8°
“A SLEIGH ON LAND UNCOVERED BY SNOW

KEYNOTE: The value of anticipating and preparing for expectable conditions.

Here we have a combination of two factors: “the sleigh,” which is a product of traditional skill (cf. Taurus 6° symbol) and the ability humans have to foresee and thus to prepare for a future situation. This ability relates this symbol to the one for Taurus 7°, because the woman from Samaria had the capacity to receive a revelation of the future state of human evolution, though in a different and subconscious sense. Humans should be ready to use past knowledge and skill to meet the demands of a stage yet to come.

At this third stage of the eighth five-fold sequence we should realize the value of FUTURE-ORIENTED IMAGINATION but also of relying upon the natural order of unfoldment of all life processes.”

“A FULLY DECORATED CHRISTMAS TREE.

KEYNOTE: The ability to create inner happiness in dark hours.

In northern or mountainous countries where the Christmas tree symbol took form, we find a contrast between the tree outside – bare and normally covered with snow – and the tree inside the home – loaded with decorations and gifts for the family. If we follow up the meaning of the preceding symbol, we see that snow has come outside; but the prepared and closely united group has created abundance, beauty and happiness within, overcoming the cold barrenness of the outside world — just as man had overcome, in a previous symbol (Phase 35), the natural obstacle to his progress. The Christ symbol is also included in the background — that is, the vivid faith in a transformed future.

This fourth stage symbol suggests the ever-present possibility open to humans to transfigure the darkness and deprivation of the low point of a life cycle by incarnating in it an antiphonic response celebrating the ever remembered and always expected high moments of life. It evokes humanity’s undying FAITH IN CYCLIC RENEWAL.”

 

How intriguing that the two symbols that show up for the MOON & URANUS both link to Winter Solstice & Christmas – the time in 2020 when JUPITER & SATURN will come together on the 1st degree of AQ. 
Truly a sign of hope for  rebirth (URANUS) and renewal, out of the deep end of 2020.
Future oriented imagination (building & co-innovating the New rather than fighting the Old), while using our skills & experience are (un?)common sense (TAU) ways of preparing.

The SUN will be at 8º38′ SCORPIO.

How perfect – SCO is related to lakes… and here’s the MOON again!

SCORPIO 8°
“A CALM LAKE BATHED IN MOONLIGHT

KEYNOTE: A quiet openness to higher inspiration.

One could stress the romantic suggestions such an image evokes, but even at the level of a love relationship what is implied is a surrender of two personal egos to the inspiration of transcendent feelings which are essentially impersonal. Love expresses itself through the lovers, for real Love is a cosmic undifferentiated principle or power which simply focuses itself within the “souls” of human beings who reflect its light.
The same is true of the mystic’s love for God. Humans strive hard to achieve great things through daring adventures, but a moment comes when all that really matters is to present a calm mind upon which a supernal light may be reflected.

This is the third stage of the forty-fourth five-fold sequence. It tells us that beyond all efforts lays the need for peace and the readiness to accept the illumination from above. The Keyword is QUIESCENCE.”

“A DENTIST AT WORK.

KEYNOTE: Overcoming the negative results of social practices and ego-cravings.

In order to properly evaluate and interpret this symbol, we should realize the meaning of the teeth. Permanent teeth appear normally at age 7, when, according to some occultists, the personalized individuality of the child — the ego — takes full control of the physical organism. The teeth are used to tear down foodstuffs so they can be digested and assimilated.
Social living and cultural patterns impose upon us certain habits of eating, arouse desires for unwholesome or denatured food, force us perhaps to eat in tense circumstances and hurriedly. This results in tooth decay far more frequently than should be inevitable through aging. The symbol therefore shows us how society and civilization, which may indirectly cause tooth decay, then have to invent means to skillfully repair the damage.

At this fourth stage of the five-fold sequence we see once more a hint of technique. Life in society both perverts, and repairs, destroys and rebuilds — truly a vicious cycle. Humans are compelled by social needs to display INVENTIVENESS.”

 

Both SCORPIO symbols link back so perfectly to the Full MOON with URANUS in TAURUS.
The social damage via habituating ‘consumers’ to sweet sugary food (literally and symbolically other intake) – TAURUS – needs to be repaired – and there’s some pain involved in the process – yet it’s liberating.

Indeed,  there’s on-going building and destroying and rebuilding in Society as in Nature. 
The calm, dark, reflective lake of Spirit & mind (SUN and MERCURY post-retro, and soon again in SCO) prevails.

 

Where early TAURUS & early SCORPIO are in your chart…

…those are the polar opposite & complementary areas of life where the ‘wild & crazy’ yet liberating and transforming dynamics of the FULL MOON Axis play out –

U.S. Presidential Elections (Nov 3) at a Historic Turning Point – Astrological Perspective

Dear ASTRO~News Reader,

 

Even though ‘mundane Astrology’ (as the Astrology of countries, politics, etc is called) is not my focus, I can’t not address, at least in brief, the state of affairs of the United, and presently rather divided, States of America, at this critical juncture of their upcoming presidential elections on Nov 3, from an astrological perspective.

Interestingly, on that day, the MOON will be in GEMINI, Trump’s SUN (and URANUS, and North Node – where also the North Node is presently) sign, and the SUN in SCORPIO where Biden has a stellium in his 12th House.
Not addressing the candidates here, leaving that to others / further discussion.

 

Yep, Nov 3 will be also the Day of MERCURY going from retro to direct again (Oct 13 – Nov 3), and is hence in the height of its turnaround ‘storm’. MERCURY is now back end of LIBRA – on the ‘Tipping Point’ to SCO – where choices lead to change, and information can change the choice. The election results can show shifts in outcome, esp. in relation to expectations according to polls. Always do, but esp. under M-r/d in LIBRA.

MERCURY retro’s very own quote could be: “Hindsight is 2020”.
Looks like this whole year is ruled by Mercury retro…. (the first round was Feb / March, in PISCES – AQ – PISCES, and close to NEPTUNE, you get the idea)…

 

MARS in ARIES is also retro until Nov 13, and coming into its own turnaround ‘storm’ early to late Nov.
Time to lay down the weapons of anachronistic divisive & destructive wars, and activate the genuine authentic Warrior Spirit.

 

Yet, these two obvious factors (the MERCURY – MARS interface showing up in debate battles, presidential sparring, and otherwise…) are rather playing out on the surface / forefront, while much bigger and deeper historic change is in the making, reflected in the JUPITER – PLUTO – SATURN conglomerate in CAP – in effect all year 2020.

Initiated by the SATURN – PLUTO alignment (every 37 – 38 years) on Jan 12, 2020:
The Old Empire expires – while rolling out its shadow of fear & control once again – and we’re having a chance to witness external manifestations and to be aware of internalized condition(ing)s. And the call to find authority / responsibility and power from within, rather than projecting and reacting to ‘Them up there’.

Framing the year at the end of it, exactly on Winter SoUlstice, Dec 21 – note the alignments: 01-12-2020 and 21-21-2020! – the also epic, historic (every 20 years) – alignment of JUPITER & SATURN at 1º AQ will initiate a new socio-political-economic cycle, from the CAP – AQ cusp of collaboration, community building.
Yet also dystopian systems of all kinds (as in: taking CAP top-down leadership / government to a technocratic level as we’re already seeing ample evidence for).
In any case, a big impact on society on all levels (the CAP – AQ cusp itself is about society, as in: interface of ruling structures / infrastructure and humanity).

 

Evolution happens, says PLUTO.
And in the next 3 years, the U.S. will have their 1st PLUTO Return in history(!), since 1776.
Transiting PLUTO will reach the 27°33′ CAP mark of the U.S. PLUTO in 2021, and esp. 2022 / 23.
Transiting PLUTO was actually already close to the U.S. PLUTO this Spring – at 25° in Apr / May this year, and super charged by JUPITER & SATURN all year.

PLUTO in CAP brings up the deep shadow round governmental and otherwise authority based leadership / integrity / respectful (or lack thereof / wasteful / abusive) building of infrastructures & management of time and resources – to be seen (yep, big time, says JUPITER in CAP, lining up with PLUTO one more time, on Nov 12!) and transformed.

Thinking primarily of the consumer capitalism Empire, hugely pumped up in the last decades, esp. since the last JUPITER-SATURN alignment in 2000 in TAU, to the detriment of Nature (who’s talking about crimes against Nature?) that we all and future generations depend on to sustain us.

In 2023, PLUTO will leave CAP (that it plowed through since 2008!) for AQ – transforming even deeper of what JUPITER & SATURN at the end of this year will have initiated.
In the meantime, URANUS the ruler of AQ is in TAU (2019 – 2026) – another, related story (Green Revolution? Technology under our skin? Call to EmBody Freedom!).

 

SO, here are the Charts

 

Starting with the U.S. ‘birth chart’ –  based on thesigning of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776 at 5:10 pm in Philadelphia.

Yes, We the People – MOON in AQ, and SAG Rising Liberty, with ruling JUPITER exalted in CANCER, next to VENUS and the SUN, in the 7th house – historically a patriotic and welcoming haven.
PLUTO in CAP – finding its own power, away from the British (ruled by CAP) Empire – and planting the seeds for a new empire.

And btw, the U.S. were founded under MERCURY retro –
So perhaps, as it usually goes for people born under M-r – a critical juncture under M-r ain’t so problematic, in fact shows on a deeper / observer level what the talk and what the messengers are all about…

Much more to the U.S. chart of course. Leaving it with this.

 

The Election Day chart for the time when MERCURY goes from retro to direct over Washington = 12:50 pm EST on Nov 3.
As you see, stationary MERCURY on the ‘Tipping Point’ over to SCO squares the CAP conglomerate of JUPITER – PLUTO (their alignment will be on Nov 12!) – SATURN (JUPITER will catch up with it on Dec 21 at 1º AQ!).
Choices are ever so crucial, for deep, essential, core change – and perhaps a Re-birth of the Spirit of the Constitution (PLUTO in CAP) – what happened to it lately?!.
MERCURY pre- and post-retro will square SATURN end of CAP twice, exactly wrapped around Election Day, on Nov 1 & 6.
Responsible leadership is at stake. Who is the best match / choice?
Having said all this: Never under-estimate the wayyy bigger Power behind the ‘Throne’ (JUPITER – PLUTO in CAP agree).

The SUN in SCO – ruled by PLUTO opposes URANUS (exact already on Oct 31 – just after the Hallowe’en Full Moon!).
Looks like we’re in for surprises, yet also an unsettling climate / unrest / wake-up calls in the process.

And the MOON / North Node in GEM squares NEPTUNE retro (while opposing the South Node in SAG):
Don’t be fooled / deluded / hypnotized by an agenda that’s too good to be true, and by what the media, mainstream, social, and anti-social convey – manipulation alert!
Question the narrative, be a critical thinker.

 

Lastly, the synastry overlay of the Election chart and the U.S. chart – showing the U.S. Transits at the time.

Showing the massive alignment of JUPITER – PLUTO, and esp. SATURN with the U.S. PLUTO (just 1º off, exactly aligned in Feb, Aug, and once more end of Nov 2020).

Again, for context:
SATURN’s transit comes every 29 years, JUPITER’s every 12, and PLUTO’s every approx. 248 years. There we have it.

Is the ‘Old Regime’ being established again?
Or is it the signature of an end to the Old Empire?
Is the leader – whoever it may be – just a figurehead of the bigger powers in the background and ‘higher UP’ (CAP)?

Unorthodox / radical freedom questions (MERCURY in turnaround, and the MOON in mercurial GEMINI, with the North Node, both together transiting the U.S. URANUS / MARS in GEM) are called for, beyond / rather than buying into any agenda, political or otherwise.

VENUS, now in LIBRA approaches the U.S. SATURN (exalted in LIBRA). Themes of fairness, justice, equality on all levels, and – may I say? – peace can determine the choice.

MARS in ARIES, now retro too, and in Nov in turnaround ‘storm’ (going direct on Nov 12), has already transited the U.S. CHIRON twice, pre-and during retro (early Aug and mid-Oct) and will, once more in direct / forward mode, mid-Dec, with the New Moon / Total Solar ‘Release’ Eclipse in SAG on Dec 14 (in the U.S. 1st House) – which is another indicator for an old trajectory for the country coming to a close (Solar Eclipses have a 19-year cycle).

We’re now approaching in the Zodiac cycle of the SUN the Heart of the SCORPION – the center of the Fall Season and Celtic festival of Samhain.

Which was traditionally celebrated on Oct 31 when the ‘Summer’ and harvest time ended. On Nov 1 began a new Celtic calendar year. 
With large fires, the Celtic people thanked the SUN God for the good harvest, and expelled the evil spirits who wandered around that night.

On Oct 31 those who died in the past year were commemorated. Many believed that the dead returned to their old homes in the night to find warmth and friendship.

The lit pumpkins at the door steps or in the windows symbolize skulls with the eternal light of the soul in it. The spirits who had not walked home into the light, wandering at night, scared people, and played tricks on them.

Nov 1 was eventually declared by the Church the Day of All Saints (holy ones), and Nov 2 All Souls Day.

‘All Hallows Evening’ or simply ‘Hallows E’en’ became later Hallowe’en.

This year, Hallowe’en comes with a ‘Blue Moon’ (second Full Moon in Oct, after the Harvest Moon on Oct 1) in TAU – SCO which shows up exactly with, and catalyzes URANUS – Wake Up, Earthlings, and EmBody the Change!

Very potent times with strongly concentrated energies that can bring out extremes and big contrasts… – which are guide posts to transformation.
And don’t get attached – or I shall say, check out where you do get attached, acknowledge it (don’t leave it ‘in the dark’) – so that it can change…

Even though, mid SCORPIO / central Fall is traditionally celebrated with Hallowe’en / Samhain on Oct 31, the exact centre (15°) of SCO is not on Oct 31 but round Nov 7.

In Catholic Bavaria where I come from, where my biological ancestors are from and my family lives, on All Saints Day (Nov 1), families visit the graves of their ancestors, after a mass, similarly to Dia de los Muertos in Mexico yet more solemnly.

A time of bringing fresh flowers, love, prayers and candles to the resting place of their bones, and to honour the undying soul.
Maybe a time to let go, to forgive, and know, Love is all that matters.

Halloween pumpkins with candles inside originally represented skulls with the eternal light of the undying soul ‘inside’.
Through dying and transforming of appearances, the Light prevails.

The carved face or feature is the ‘façade’ / appearance, or persona / mask, and the candle light is Spirit & Soul ‘behind’ and ‘inside’ it..

Perhaps a different way of looking at ‘carved pumpkins’ or of carving one…. And a different way of looking at ANY appearances… esp. in times likes these.

VENUS & MERCURY retro both enter LIBRA on Oct 27 – Perfect Balance & Equanimity?

Dear Astro~News Reader,

On Oct 27, the MERCURial Messenger & Magician – in retro mode, coming from SCORPIO, and VENUS Love Goddess coming from MERCURial VIRGO, both make a move into VENUS’s domain of LIBRA – ahhh!

So – this blog article will be a ‘Two-in-One’ for VENUS & MERCURY – very LIBRAN.

 

The cuspy themes are ‘Perfect Alignment’ / ‘Perfect Balance’ / Design (VIR – LIBRA where VENUS comes in), and Alchemy / ‘Tipping Point’ – choices lead to change (LIBRA – SCO where MERCURY moves in reverse gear, perhaps to re-consider / reverse choices / decisions?).

Let’s honour VENUS and MERCURY individually, in their zodiacal moves, before tying it together in the end.

VIRGO is the astrological vibration of the Sacred Feminine and Priestess Archetype.

Hope you’ve been able over the last weeks to honour your work, your practice, your body, and to align more fully with what’s healthy, what works for you, and how you can be in your ‘temple of service’.
VIRGO is so self-contained (has sometimes – often! – a hard time asking for help & being open to receive). VENUS is traditionally not well placed in VIRGO since it’s the d.i.y. mode isn’t so conducive to attracting, more to working and being in service to others, being busy and often concerned about things that could ‘go wrong’. and even to dealing with inadequacy issues: SO much work-on-self to be ‘perfect’ or even ‘good enough’ –
Relax, VIRGO!

Yet, when channeled into being in alignment with one’s Higher Self, VIRGO is so exquisitely and purely on purpose, bringing order into chaos, and seeing the Sacred in the ‘small’.

VIRGO comes before LIBRA:
Cultivating self-awareness, alignment with higher self and self-sufficiency are prerequisites for healthy & well matched relationships.

 

 

VENUS will go into LIBRA, one of ‘her’ domains (besides TAU), on Oct 27 (until Nov 21) – Dance of Balance

Golden Venus

Let’s say our VIRGO world of Self Alignment is in place (an on-going practice of course)…
Then the next level in LIBRA are choices for meeting others in natural complementariness (well, that’s where the VIRGOan discernment comes in), for being in general more relationally oriented, regaining peace and balance, being drawn to beauty, arts, and culture, and to all things refined. Ahhhh!

VENUS in LIBRA offers a beautiful time to bring the Sacred Feminine into relatedness – and even without the relationship component:
To rebalance our lives if we’ve become too busy, hectic, anxious, and have been dealing with too many to-do’s.

 

VENUS in VIRGO (since Oct 2) has attracted lots of themes (if not problems) to ‘work on’, to bring into alignment and heal – to be in wholeness and healthy self sufficiency – i.o.w. not ‘needing’ a partner. 

From this place, attraction and good partnership are based on complementariness, rather than co-dependency.
With or without ‘significant other’ relationships, VENUS in LIBRA invites us to bring harmony, balance, and beauty into our lives.

VENUS in LIBRA, and her ‘Planet Dates & Dances’

Four(!) Planets are presently in their ruled signs, this month (VENUS in LIBRA), these months (MARS in ARIES), this year (SATURN in CAP), these years (NEPTUNE in PISCES) – pure, natural expression of these Archetypes, and in in dynamics with one another.

What does VENUS in LIBRA add to the picture?
Love, Peace, Harmony, and right Relationship can help balance lots of old, long-standing issues…

VENUS in LIBRA this time round won’t quite be a ‘walk in the park’ though, since ‘She’ will go into opposition with CHIRON and MARS in ARIES, and into square with JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN in CAP –
Lots of tension in the AIR.

Yet, as always, alignment matters – the Astro~Weather is a cosmic climate, an atmosphere.
It doesn’t create our experience. We’re co-creating with our perceptions (VIR) and choices (LI). 
YES, choices – a LIBRAn theme!

Part Two: MERCURY (back) in LIBRA

MERCURY retro-to-direct gives a reprieve from deep & intense SCORPIO (since Sept 27) for a 3-week break (Oct 27 – Nov 10) in LIBRA:

 

Peace of Mind / Mind of Peace / Equanimity in the ‘Storm’

Phewwww – quite the mental-emotional-instinctual SCORPIOnic immersion it’s been with MERCURY, over the last 4 weeks since Sept 27.

Often not ‘pleasant’ but clearly needed to clear out hidden / hiding agenda in the ‘mental closet’, and to dive deeper into the heart and soul of the matter that changes the conversation, reveals the shadow, and brings more true intimacy and depth into our interactions.

MERCURY retro (since Oct 13) in SCO has shown

what motivates our choices,
what corrupts and controls the mind,
how the mind can be wayyy too much in control, and
how that influences / determines our choices. 

As M-r goes back into LIBRA, here’s a window to change the choices (LIBRA) with Mercurial awareness, – which of course changes the outcome.

  Where are you divided / polarized / taking sides / being allies, and argue back and forth in your mind or with others, while the truth is in the middle? How can the opposites be married?

  What does harmony mean to you? Which environments provide that for you? What’s a good match (as in: people, places, activities) that create a vibration of harmony in you?

  What’s the ‘contract’ between you (a formal agreement, or the soul contract)?
  What does it take to keep the dynamics between you balanced? This can be a good time to bring it up in conversation – in a considerate yet clear way that aims for win-win.

We’re reaching the ‘Tipping Point’ / ‘Alchemy Point’ from LIBRA to SCORPIO, seasonally, via Solar catalytic Consciousness.
The SUN enters SCO on Oct 22 at 4:00 pm PDT.

And via MERCURY – the mind in its intellectual function is now also geared to dive into dark and otherwise hidden realms.
MERCURY has been in SCO since Sept 27, and retro since Oct 13.
We’re coming to the half-way point of M-r, on Oct 25!
That’s the Day of Enlightening Insight’ (yes, in SCO!) / a ‘New Mercury’ is born.

LIBRA New Moon (Oct 16) in T-square with MARS and JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN – Re-Balancing Right Relationship on All Levels

On-going Thanksgiving & ThanksLiving Blessings,
dear Astro~News Reader!

 

 

Here in Canada, we just had Thanksgiving weekend.
Gratitude is an attitude & empowering choice – even in times like this…

…and in a year called 2020 with the gratitude Planet JUPITER next to PLUTO & SATURN in CAP a big deal.

At this Harvest Season and perhaps Harvest Time of a larger cycle (considering SATURN presently in CAP), cultivating genuine gratitude for what is given, and for the results of / feedback for what we’ve put in ‘over the Spring and Summer’ is a good practice to generate contentment and inner harmony, or contemplation and awareness for how to correct our course.

In the U.S. (for how much longer?) Columbus Day was celebrated the same day as Canadian Thanksgiving, Oct 12.
Simultaneously since the early 1990’s Indigenous Peoples’ Day is being honoured as a counter-holiday.
Well, that’s also got to do with…

 

Right Relationship?!

We’re in LIBRA season (since Sept 22 – Fall Equinox)!

LIBRA by Johfra Bosschart – with symbolism from various esoteric traditions

The LIBRA painting by Johfra Bosschart to the left symmetrically features SUN & MOON in the Infinity symbol (a # 8 on its side – Major Arcana VIII in Tarot is the Balance card, and the New Moon will be on Oct 16 = 2 x 8).

Below them a scene from the Egyptian Book of the Dead, with deities Hathor and Thoth weighing the Heart of the deceased against the feather of Maat – ‘judgment’ of souls via wisdom / intellect / reason, and love / compassion.
Only if the Heart proves to be as light as the feather may they transition into the otherworld.

Both figures float in a cloud opening ‘generated’ by a yin-yang symbols.
Below them are two Assyrian sphinxes, male and female on masonic tiled floor with their right paws on a glass cube altar with a LIBRA symbol out of which a Rose springs. All in symmetry and balance.

 

Being in Right Relationship, starting with the Inner and Outer Feminine and Masculine, as well as Equality, Balance and Fairness are big issues for LIBRA.
LIBRA rules courtship and courts…

All of the above is ever so relevant this year – even though LIBRA hasn’t come into the picture much yet, thus far.
But now it does, via the SUN, soon VENUS (Oct 27 – Nov 21), and MERCURY (presently in SCO but going back to LIBRA also on Oct 27 – and retro until Nov 3, almost to the degree of the New Moon = 24º).

End of LIBRA is also close to the ‘Tipping Point’ cusp over to SCO (which the SUN enters on Oct 22). So we’re dealing with choices that lead to change / decisions with consequences.
The controversial BC snap elections on Oct 24 and the U.S. presidential elections on Nov 3 (both under / at the end of MERCURY retro!) fall in this New Moon phase (Oct 16 – Nov 14).

 

Surprise-surprise… the 2020 thrill continues:
Not exactly all nice and harmonious and dandy, with this NEW MOON in LIBRA. 
It comes with a sharp cardinal T-square
= an opposition to Warrior MARS in ARIES – now bright in the night sky – next to discordant ERIS, and a square from both ARIES and LIBRA to the ‘Titanic Triad’ of JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN, all 3 (all year!) in CAP – where the T-square ‘outlet’ wants to happen.
Lots of tension between the Hero / Warrior Spirit in Action, in relation to Equality / Fairness / Balance / Choices – with consequences.

The battles, esp. in the ‘Corona War’ (MARS / CHIRON in ARIES), some legal (LIBRA), and in any case fiercely controversial, are targeted to / provoked by Governments / ‘Old Empire’ structures (CAP) and their way of using (abusing?) authority (SATURN) and power (PLUTO) with the hierarchically executed measurements, rules, and regulations of this epic, historic year.

What’s the truth (JUPITER)?
What’s factual evidence (SATURN)?
What’s been hidden and covered-up (PLUTO)?

Similarly, in the Climate debate, what do data say, and what’s the responsibility / actions that need to be implemented (SATURN), based on the understanding of this Big Deal (JUPITER) that’s irreversibly changing Life on Earth as we know it (PLUTO)?!

MERCURY freshly retro (since Oct 13) in SCO from where it goes back to late LIBRA (until Nov 3!) can reveal hence hidden / covered information from the past that can drastically transform how we see these key scenarios, and the choices we make.

 

End-of-LIBRA has a GEMINI undertone:
Themes of balance, right relationship, fairness, and justice (LIBRA) have a lot to do with information and the conversation (civil or: rather not?!) that’s going on… between people, and in the media, social or anti-social, mainstream or alternative.

And GEMINI is ruled by MERCURY – freshly retro (since Oct 13 – which is also catalyzed by the New Moon) – exposing what’s been hidden and covered, digging deeper, finding information that can tip the scales for significant decisions, in this precarious Fall 2020.

 

After exploring how the interconnected present Astro Weather shows up in current societal events let’s see what the LIBRA New Moon on Oct 16 brings.

The ‘Birth Chart’ of the LIBRA New Moon on Oct 16

The New Moon will be at 12:31 pm PDT tomorrow Oct 16, 2020.

 

 

Well, there it is – a cosmic pattern with a few sharp squares, and esp. a T-square from the SUN / MOON in LIBRA and MARS, next to ERIS in ARIES, to the conglomerate of JUPITER / PLUTO / SATURN in CAP (now all three in direct / forward motion from Earth perspective, after the Titanic Turnaround in Sept / early Oct).

 

• The LIBRA SUN & MOON in square with PLUTO in CAP (exact Oct 15 / 16):
  Balance, fairness, and right relationship on interpersonal and societal levels with All Our Relations comes up against old anachronistic righteous / abusive / disrespectful structures that are on their way out – yet still trying to assert themselves while they ‘die hard’.
  Personally, realizing how much relationships are about control – how can this change? How can everybody involved be in their intrinsic, inalienable power?
  Being in our natural Power Core in the midst of Change brings us into Balance.

 

• The LIBRA MOON & SUN in square with SATURN end of CAP (exact Oct 16-18) – while the MOON moves over the ‘Tipping Point’ into SCO and aligns with MERCURY retro.
  What does it concretely look like to be in right relationship?
  What does it have to do with mutual respect and healthy boundaries?
  What are the choices that need to be made now?
  What needs to be brought to an end?
  Maybe to make room for who / what’s compatible and a good match?
  And how do relationships mirror where you’re at?
  How have they been the ‘perfect match’ for the (old?) you?
  Societally, the New MOON in LIBRA in square with SATURN is about integrity, fairness, social justice, and how the evidence / lack thereof has consequences (incl. in the choices we make / upcoming elections).

 

• Clear communication & following intuitive / instinctive promptings is crucial now (always, but shows up more nowadays where we’re prone to assumptions / inner stories…) – via MERCURY freshly retro in SCO – going back to GEMINI ruled end of LIBRA where the New Moon lands, while the North Node is since June 2020 and until Dec 2021 in GEMINI.

 

• And what’s with the ARIES side of the equation???
  CHIRON retro (activated by the Harvest Full Moon in early ARIES – LIBRA on Oct 1), and esp. MARS retro – with his discordant sister ERIS are opposed by the LIBRA New Moon. The exact SUN – MARS retro opposition was also just on Oct 13 – the half-way point of MARS retro – as it appears the brightest in the night sky now, in its 2-year cycle.
  The opposition of the ARIES dynamic and the LIBRA New Moon both are in square to the CAP Triad.
  Peaceful Warriors, show up, be authentic & bring out your Best!
  For the greater good of Evolution, for the future of Planet Earth and all her Beings!
  And let’s not buy into manufactured polarization & discord that divides us & makes us easier to rule / control. We have so much more in common than what appears to separate us. Important to acknowledge rather than antagonize ‘the other’.
  Choice matters, nevertheless:
  So let’s work & play & co-create together with whom it’s really a good match, and activate our best, for the Greater Good!

 

• Also widely-wildly opposite the LIBRA New Moon: LILITH (barely) still in ARIES (since Jan 27) moving over the ‘Settling Point’ into TAURUS on Oct 21 – catalyzed by the LIBRA New Moon.
  It’s been truly a fierce & Wild New World of 2020, with LILITH, CHIRON, and since end of June also MARS in ARIES.
  Rather than being prone to the adrenaline rush of survival mode, this energy wants us to wake us up, show up, and start fresh – as we are, here-now.
  It’s been a time to try ourselves out in new ways a la ARIES, and to be the Warrior of Presence and / in the Newness. It all starts with the ‘Wild’ and unconditioned / untamed YOU.
  As LILITH goes into TAURUS ‘she’ help us find our True Nature – IN Nature, and in the Nature of our Body – which can be quite liberating / revolutionary – as LILITH will also activate URANUS in TAU in Dec – the signature that calls us to EmBody Freedom.

 

With all this tension – Libran BALANCE is Key.
Which helps restore Right Relationship.

A BUTTERFLY WITH A THIRD WING ON ITS LEFT SIDE.

KEYNOTE: The ability to develop, for inner strengthening, new modes of response to basic life situations.

The butterfly is the ancient and traditional symbol of the results of the process of spiritual rebirth. If the butterfly has three wings instead of two, a special development of an aspect of the spiritual life is shown.
Three is a symbol of fulfillment. Some power has been added to the normal spiritual life of the individual person. The left side usually refers to the instinctual field of the consciousness, but it is also the heart’s side. A new strength is shown, perhaps as yet unrealized.

A fourth stage symbol usually refers to some kind of technique or technical achievement. What is implied here is that the contact with the revivifying Life-force (cf. the first stage symbol) can result in the appearance of a new faculty, the use of which may not as yet be consciously evaluated. The symbol shows us that for true equality & balance, and to go beyond the polarizing duality (such an issue this year!), we need to ‘grow an extra heart wing’ (and give our heart wings!)
And to bring more yin energy (associated with the left side), as in: compassion and instinct into the equation (LIBRA) – important ingredients for the SCORPIOnic trans-mutation.

I just love how the symbol expresses such concentrated ‘simple’ and timeless wisdom for THIS time.
And how perfectly it synchronizes with the Egyptian Book of the Dead weighing process, illustrated in the painting by J.B. above:
The Heart that’s light as a feather can make the transition – and grow trans-mutating wings (in death as in life).

 

 

Where end-of-LIBRA is in your chart…

…that’s the area of life where new seeds are being planted, where a conception happens (the YIN quality of the New Moon), and where you might feel called to set new intentions and take new pro-active steps (the YANG quality of the New Moon), all in good measure, and for New BALANCE.

Wild & Thriving As Nature & In Our True Nature – LILITH in TAURUS (Oct 21, 2020 – July 18, 2021)

Greetings, dear Wild & Free Beings!

You probably like the sound of the ASTRO News I have for you:

It’s true, and immanent – only one week, before the shift!

LILITH, asteroid representative of the ‘Wild Woman’ Archetype, and, deeper than that: of our True, ‘Wild’ Nature that’s always unconditionally FREE and unbound, is shifting signs (every 9 months), as ‘she settles’ in her embodied Taurean Nature on Oct 21.

…after a truly wild ride in fierce ARIES where ‘she’s’ been quite the activating force since Jan 27 – together with CHIRON – united at the March 24 Spring Equinox New Moon – , and in Aug / Sept together with Warrior MARS / discordant ERIS, plus squaring / challenging the ‘Old Empire Titans’ JUPITER – PLUTO – SATURN in CAP!

Well, what a Wild New World it’s been for sure, in 2020 thus far – which brought primal instincts (survival, fear, freedom, fierceness) in us out. Healing ‘like with like’ a la CHIRON involves the unconditioned, authentic & autonomous Self a la LILITH.

The Chinese New Year of the Yang Metal RAT 2020 / 21 that started Jan 25, just 2 days before LILITH emerged in ARIES was clearly also linked into this.
Together with LILITH & CHIRON in ARIES, the RAT Year calls us in the ‘new viral world’ to wake up, start with ourselves, be in solidarity with our buddies, ‘leave the sinking ship’ (since RATS are the first ones to do just that), be smart and resourceful, alive and well, from the inside out.
Also a time to try ourselves out in new ways a la ARIES, and to be the Warrior of Presence and / in the Newness.

Now, LILITH ‘settles’ in TAURUS to help us find our True & Free,  ‘Wild’ & Unconditioned Nature – IN Nature, and in the Nature of our Body.

• When it comes to locational freedom, URANUS in TAU has set the tone in the last 2 years for what LILITH activates again:
  What do your senses says to the land you would thrive on (maybe awakened in the last 2 years) – like a plant growing under optimal conditions?
  And if you can’t be there yet, how do you bring its flavours, sounds, and sights into your life NOW?
  Follow your instinct, experiment, be unconditionally free!

• The Green Revolution, initiated by URANUS in TAURUS (since 2018 / 19) is getting another kick from LILITH.
  Which reminds me of the food freedom hero Rob Greenfield who ventured out to set an example for happily living super simply & self-sustainably off the land – by transforming front yard lawns into thriving gardens. Inspired?

 

While in TAURUS, LILITH will make these Contacts with other Planetary Archetypes

The energy will be activated at least a week before and some days after the alignment.
Integration of its effects takes longer of course.

The LILITH effects start right at SCORPIO season, with the polarities between MERCURY, the SUN, and VENUS in SCO opposing LILITH in TAU – a contrast / polarity that calls to be bridged.
And then there’ll be TAURUS Season in Apr / May 2021 – with the ground prepared by LILITH.

December (what a month! Total Solar Eclipse, JUPITER / SATURN entering AQ and unifying there at Winter Solstice to start a new socio-political-economic cycle!) & Jan are the highlight months of the LILITH in TAU phase, as we’ll see the union of LILITH with URANUS (every 10 years) in TAU, exact on Dec 23 – and the effects extend into Jan 2021, when MARS joins LILITH, on Jan 29.

PLUTO in CAP goes direct / forward on Oct 4: Power to Change!

On Oct 4, PLUTO in CAP turns direct / forward again!

 

The last part of the Titanic Turnaround of JUPITER – SATURN – PLUTO in Sept / Oct.
Yes, Soul Power is our ultimate guidance.

 

With SATURN retro, and JUPITER retro so close to PLUTO retro this Spring / early Summer (JU & PLU connected on Apr 4 and June 29), we’ve seen lots of concrete evidence of old structures and the ‘Old Empire’ expiring and being due to transform.
Probably like myself you’ve experienced situations with reality checks, closures and boundaries (SATURN in CAP), and where it’s been important to demonstrate you’re not engaging in the old energy / ‘matrix’ anymore but ARE the change.

The month of Sept (with JUPITER’s Turnaround on Sept 12) has been about seeing and understanding what’s big and important – and needs to be a timely priority.
For me, clearly one of the priorities is the exponentially increasing build-up of destructive human impact on Nature, and all Life on Planet Earth – the foundation of Life for us human Earthlings.
The mega fires in CA / OR / WA that started in the 1st week of Sept(when MARS in ARIES went retro – what’s recurring about this acute crisis?!) brought it right in front of our eyes.

 

JUPITER will once more connect with PLUTO this year, on Nov 12 – while both Planets go direct.
Showing clearly what the Priorities (CAP) for Massive (JUPITER) and Profound Changes (PLUTO) of 2020 to 2021 are.

After passing PLUTO, JUPITER will, together with SATURN leave CAP and enter AQ on Dec 16 / 19, where they unite on Winter Solstice, Dec 21, at 0º28′ AQ.
Their alignment happens every 20 years (last one in TAURUS in May 2000) – initiating a new socio-political-economic-cultural cycle(!).

With the AQ signature, after SO much Earth in the last decades (incl. PLUTO in CAP since 2008/9 – which it’ll also leave in 2023), we’re transitioning into a new era for and AS humanity – after a super transformational and historic year 2020.

 

Since Fall Equinox (Sept 22) we’re in a SATURNian phase, as the Ringed One has turned direction on Sept 28 / 29.
From ‘done with the old’ and painfully obviously not working structures and modus operandi (how much more evidence do we need?) to: How do we build in integrity?

 

And now we’re in PLUTO-in-CAP U-Turn mode, end of Sept to mid-Oct – basically the whole LIBRA season!

Which also goes to show, being in our POWER has to do with making wise choices and finding a good match – for various purposes, resulting in peace, balance, and harmony.

Maybe a transformation has been going on in you already to show you what the Power to Change really means, and what needs to change in you & which choices you need to make to be in a place of intrinsic Power that manifests in the ‘outside world’. 

 

PLUTO’s retro trip in CAP since Apr 25 has brought up a lot of collective and personal inner and old conditioning, and shown where we can feel disempowered through controlling power structures and hierarchies. This could have manifested in personal, interpersonal and societal dynamics. Well, no kidding – this year….!

This is a turnaround phase to take our Power back, and / or not give it away in the first place. 
Many man-made / human-controlled greed & fear based or top-down authority structures (shadows of CAP-italist CAP) might be hard to come by / seem to require ‘moving mountains’ to make changes in distribution / accessibility / respect for everyone, no matter where they’re ‘positioned’ in the structure.
Yet, that’s also an old Capitalist and PISCES Age story that’s changing now. Too slowly??? Just-in-Time?

 

CAP themed inquiry questions, these years (2008 – 2023) of PLUTO’s CAP destruction and REbuilding process:

 

• What and where are RESOURCES (collectively and personally speaking) that don’t waste time and energy and don’t produce more waste but are renewable?

• How can we lead life in a way that isn’t efforting / resisting but resourceful and regenerative?

• Who are the ones (really!) in charge???
  Hey: You’re the one you’ve been waiting for / looking up to!

• What’s controlling us, and how can we take Power back?

• What’s intrinsic Power from the inside-out?

• How can we work wisely with TIME?

• How can we be free from / beyond time control, and in timeless awareness?

 

 

With the stationary / direct PLUTO in CAP mode, it’s Time to RE-generate from within, in Nature, and in our True Nature.

Being connected to Source is instantly empowering.

What’s the POWER to CHANGE?

(Look at the signs… ❤ )

Where can the change in you be sourced?
What can the status quo change into?

 

• The Power of TIME and Timeliness
  How do we know when TIME is ‘right & ripe”?
  Tuning into our inner Soul Time is the way to go.
  Astrology can help by showing us the cosmic cycles, and how to align with them, assisting our natural inner knowing and intuition. 
  Don’t let yourself get pressured by external forces (“You should be already….”) and time / resource scarcity, in this ever so 24/7 production mode world – which isn’t really all that productive anyway if natural cycles of rest and regeneration aren’t honoured.
  So perhaps the Power of TIME means to slow down, smell the Roses, and let things ripen…?

 

• Honouring the Elders, and Receiving Guidance
  Elders may be biological Elders, Spirit Elders, the spirit of the ‘Old World’…
  Being guided by them and towards them can be very powerful if you hear the call.

 

• Working Well with Resources. Being Resourceful
  In tune with Natural Time and Natural Laws…
  Working respectfully with the cycles of Nature, incl. our own nature, the human life cycle and day-to-day cycles. CAP traditionally works with the Land and cooperates with Nature.
  When and where is a good time / place to seed / plant / harvest?
  The Fall Equinox (Sept 22) is one of the main markers of the Solar year, and the Harvest Moon on Oct 1 offers nature-all energy for harvesting / and also planting new seeds for harmony, balance and relatedness.
  There’s simplicity and beauty in this. Can we apply it again more into our lives?
  CAP says: I use what’s here and make the best out of it. I’m resourceful.
  The shadow would be to abuse, over-use, and the lack would be to under-use what would be a helpful resource.
  So, bottom line: TIME for an inventory / invent-ory.

 

• Wisdom of the Body
  The most obvious ‘earthly resource’ is our body of course. Late CAP where PLUTO is now has also a VIRGO undertone – alignment with one’s Higher Self is / brings wellness.
  Don’t let yourself get de-stabilized from chaos, disruptions and imbalance around (an – understandable but not helpful – low grade experience of URANUS now in TAURUS and MERCURY now in PLUTO ruled SCO going into pre-retro ‘storm’ to go retro on Oct 13).
  Find and stand your ground, emBody Freedom, and let the mind alchemize.
  Let’s definitely bring the wisdom of the BODY in, for wise choices, and empowering change!
  

 

 

Let’s take a look at the

Sabian Symbols for the PLUTO U-Turn Point

PLUTO goes direct / forward from on Oct 4 at 22°29′ CAP.

I’ll use both 22° and 23° CAP this time, to show you the theme where PLUTO has been before (actually at the CAP Ring of Fire Solar Eclipse on Dec 25 / 26, 2019 round which the main theme of 2020 started!).
This ground had been already covered (dug up and transformed?) by PLUTO – representing the Power of Evolution.

Actually, the SATURN – PLUTO alignment of Jan 12 was at the same degree and almost minute – 22°46′ CAP!
The core / essence of what was initiated then is now acutely back – to rebuild from the most powerful place.

Obviously, there’s a Covid crisis connection.
Can we ‘even'(?!) rebuild from our intrinsic immune system? Or do we require all the massive infrastructure & organization, and governmental regulations, rules, and laws that have been established since?

SATURN in CAP from retro to direct on Sept 28 / 29, in this context:

• How can we make sure we learned from experience, and implement what tangible reality has shown us?

• How can we learn from mistakes in the crisis, rather than carry them forward – with massive consequences?!

• How do we now lead & rebuild from integrity?

PLUTO in CAP shows us what’s underneath and at the core of what shows up as a concrete serious issue (SATURN).
We have to meet the essence of what showed as a crisis related to human health, infection etc. – rather than just treat the symptoms, or doctor the statistics.

 

So, here are the Symbols for both degrees in CAP that are now (and were in Dec / Jan) activated by PLUTO.

 

CAPRICORN 22°

“BY ACCEPTING DEFEAT GRACEFULLY, A GENERAL REVEALS NOBILITY OF CHARACTER.

KEYNOTE: The realization that one may grow through defeat as well as, and perhaps more than, through success.

While the preceding symbol referred to the drive toward success in culturally organized collective endeavors, this one presents us with the possibility of turning apparent external defeat into an inner spiritual achievement. We have recently seen how totally vanquished nations (Germany and Japan) have leaped forward and achieved great economic success. Much depends on the quality of the will and the inner integrity of the person.

At this second stage we find what seems to be a paradox, but the spiritual life is always paradoxical. The great sinner can become the most renowned saint, and a medieval Pope a criminal. What matters most always is INNER STRENGTH.”

 

Acknowledging, accepting and learning the deep lessons of a situation that presented themselves as a mistake / failure / defeat for the ego is indeed integrity and inner strength.
Very PLUTO. Very much the core of CAP.
Very relevant for the Titanic Turnaround.

 

And here’s the next degree – showing what’s up for change, where the shadow lies, and also where the evolution can come from.
PLUTO is activating it in mid Aug to mid Nov 2020.

 

CAPRICORN 23°

“A SOLDIER RECEIVING TWO AWARDS FOR BRAVERY IN COMBAT.

KEYNOTE: The reward offered by society for the fulfillment of individual responsibility.

The fact that “two” awards are emphasized makes us believe that this may refer subtly to the recognition by the community that, whether s/he succeeded or failed, an individual who discharged his duty nobly under unusual circumstances is entitled to the respect and appreciation of the collectivity s/he served so well. What is implied here is a constant give-and-take between society and the individual person. Each one should be able to trust the other.

This third symbol of the fifty-ninth five-fold sequence extracts, as it were, a common element from the two preceding scenes. The Keyword here is RECOMPENSE, i.e. a compensation for a well-done performance — a balancing of accounts.”

 

What strikes me here is the part:
“…constant give-and-take between society and the individual person. Each one should be able to trust the other.” – a big theme this year. And also – in continuity to the previous symbol – the fact that acknowledgment for bravery doesn’t imply success.

Basically, rather than having societal / individual / leadership egos bumping up against and being at war with each other (also an issue brought out by MARS now retro in ARIES) as it happens SO much in the polarized public discussion this year, there’s gotta be a better way.

Rather than accusing each other –
Hw about as a base line (CAP) acknowledging that everyone does the best they can with the resources / consciousness they have.
“I might not agree with you. But I acknowledge where you come from, and even more so: I acknowledge and respect your humanity.”

Coming from that place – Soul to Soul if you will, a la PLUTO – can be a Turning Point in our circle of influence and in the world at large.
All parties must be acknowledged having equal intrinsic & inalienable Soul Power. 

 

Both expressions of the Sabian Symbols show where the Power to Change can be accessed. 

Not in giving so much energy to battling against the outer enemy (be it virus or government) but in acknowledgment of what-is, and letting Nature and Soul guide us in this mountainous terrain we’re on.

We are the Change!
