Wesak Moon Days of ‘Incubation’ and Distribution :: Sitting as Buddha Nature Sets us Free!

10 May

The day of the WESAK MOON is here… (see my yesterday’s post).
Today, I felt called to shed more light on the tradition, and how we can bring it ‘back home’ here-now:

In the Buddhist community, the Full Moon in May is celebrated as the Buddha’s birthday, attaining of enlightenment, and leaving of the earthly incarnation.
Here’s probably the best web article about Wesak / Vesak (from good old crystalinks).

With the WESAK MOON, the astrological TAURUS – SCORPIO axis is powerfully illumined every year.

SCORPIO is the the MOON the most ‘challenging’ sign (while the MOON is considered ‘exalted’ in yummy, nourishing TAURUS – so strong this year with the TAURUS NEW MOON – is is considered ‘in fall’ in SCORPIO):
The MOON represents our emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and the needs and habits developed from that place, which by nature long for nurturance and sustenance (it all started in the womb).
TAURUS is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery and assimilation (just like nature in Spring). Whereas SCORPIO rules necessary detoxifying elimination, partly through painful processes – which is not what our Lunar (representative also of the Inner Child) self is most comfortable with – to put it mildly.

Under a SCORPIO MOON (whether we’re born with it, have it by progression (for 2 1/2 years every 29 years), or whether the MOON in SCORPIO for 2 1/2 days per month affects us, we are instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge, and get rid of what is toxic and outlived, what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free in a deeper sense. The process may call us to go into the ‘mouth of the monster’, and through its bowels even, while our head and ego might severely protest and resist. A SCOPRIO MOON experience can lead us to the deepest abyss of our inner worlds, yet is an opportunity to take us through it, and be regenerated and transformed through the process. Psychotherapy and initiation happens, whether in a formal or informal setting…

The SCORPIO – TAURUS WESAK MOON each year is a fully solar illumined (therefore most potent) SCORPIO MOON that reveals our deepest needs for transformation.
Consciousness (represented by the SUN) has to be intent to patiently stay and sit with (TAURUS) what comes up from the depth, for the processing. I that sense, the polarity axis of TAU and SCO can be bridged in complementary, cooperative, and productive ways.

The central spiritual (esp. Buddhist) themes of attachment vs. transformation are being highlighted in the ‘Bull’s Eye’ and the ‘Scorpion’s Stinger’, which could look like:

  • Fighting with the inner dragon (the ‘inner monster’ always growing more heads as one might be slayed / one issue might be ‘dealt with’), and / or sooo much inner painful processing – the suffering version of the SCO MOON side, in its outer yang and inner yin version,
  • Dealing with the inner ‘hungry ghosts’, as Buddhists would call it: Our mouth, and all our sense organs in general, can only take in so much, yet the belly of desire is big and insatiable… – that’s the suffering on the TAU side: In an outer yang way, through consuming, pur-chasing(!), acquiring more and more, while never being satisfied, and in an a yin way: trying to attract and you never feel good enough…

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the Buddha floating on a Taurean lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully, while rooted in the Scorpionic mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality of having gone through, and continuing to go through deep processes, The embodiment of the enlightened consciousness continues and sustains.

The WESAK Moon is a very potent opportunity for attunement to, receptivity and assimilation of cosmic energies, meditation, and openness for transformational change. It offers a strong reception, safeguarding, and distribution of spiritual energy on the Earth plane, from many dimensions and traditions..
Its effects extend over time.

Speaking of time: The spiritually auspicious WESAK Full Moon in its charged SCO – TAU energy has been building up well before, and is still available well after the exact alignment, as it requires and also helps us to ground ourselves (TAU) in consciousness (SUN), even in the apparent, perceived (MOON) predicament and abyss around us (SCO).

So let’s be present with what IS (which includes inner and overpowering ‘external’ demons), while sustaining a vision for humanity, together with others (the universal Sangha = spiritual community)!

In esoteric traditions, the day of the WESAK Festival is dedicated as a ‘Day of Safeguarding’, followed by two Days  of Distribution.

In short, on the WESAK Moon Day (of Safeguarding), the spiritual community is called to regard themselves as recipients and custodians if as much of that inflowing spiritual force as they can possibly hold.
This corresponds with the quality and capacity of fixed signs, and is a perfect expression for the SCO MOON, this year active from Tue May 9 until the morning of Thu May 11 (9:59 am PDT), and peaking at the exact FULL MOON (today Wed May 10 at 2:42 pm PDT).
In other words, the whole span of the SCO MOON time is a ‘safeguarding’ energy.

In the Days of Distribution following the Festival, it is suggested to turn the attention away from one’s inner subjective planes, in order to pass on the spiritual energy that has been received, ‘to whom it may concern’ / who comes into our ‘field’.
This corresponds with the mutable, distributing, and ‘broadcasting’ SAG MOON that follows the SCO MOON ‘container’. The MOON will cross this year over the ‘Phoenix Point’ into SAG at 9:59 am PDT on Thu May 11, and be in SAG until Sat May 13 at 10:37 pm PDT.

May the Spirit of the WESAK MOON transmute us, rise, and find its way!
May we recognize the source of suffering, and be FREE!

May love, kindness, and peace be in you and me, and ALL!
WESAK MOON Blessings!

* The SUN Crosses the ‘Phoenix Point’ from SCO to SAG on Nov 21: Rising – and Raising Vibrations, with the Inner Heart Light.

19 Nov

On Nov 21 at 1:22 pm PDT, the SUN moves from SCORPIO to SAG – across the ‘Phoenix Point’.
This weekend and early next week are very ‘Phoenix’ like:
We made it through ‘THIS’, burnt a lot through and off, and rise again… from the deep intense Scorpionic ‘underwater’ realm to a Fiery, Spirited Sagittarian sense of Knowing that might sound like: “We got through it, and see the picture more clearly now!”.
Yet, do we like what we see? And do we really know where we’re going from here?

SATURN in SAG these years (Sept 2015 – Winter Solstice 2017) doesn’t make the SAG Journey feel like a walk in the park or a joy ride. It’s been rather showing humanity the shadow of SAG – ‘More’ isn’t always ‘better’, and “I know better than you!”, “Our belief is superior to yours” heed karmic boomerang effects, are separative, and obstacles on the spiritual path.

In combination with PLUTO in CAP, the Zodiac sign ruled by SATURN, deep, dense, old, historic power stuff layers built up over time, and running through societies and cultures is coming ‘up and out’ now.
Just saying: Plutocracy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plutocracy – Greek origin, literally: power of / dominion by the wealthy.
Here’s an excellent historic documentary film called Plutocracy that I found when researching: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ql05BE8dV6E

In a simple astrological formula:
PLUTO = it gets intense as it changes.
CAPRICORN = “I use” (resources and time) / shadow: Abuse and exploitation – to ‘optimize’/ get the most out of it.

SAGITTARIUS and CAPRICORN are intertwined these days, via SATURN – which gives the ‘usual’ high-spirited SAG a heavier, weighty, shadow conscious, karmic tone – to mature and ‘ground’ the energy in integrity.
As we step into the SAG season of the year it comes with SATURN:

  • What are truly the best gifts we can make to others and ourselves these days?
  • What’s with the ‘Christmas Spirit’ – independent of materialism?
  • What brings ‘the Return of the Light’?

Jupiter Rules Sagittarius. Painting by Johfra Bosschart

Indeed, where is the light in the SAG world these days?
The very grounded Hermit in the landscape of the Johfra painting holds a lantern, representative of carrying our soul light that sheds a spotlight on the step ahead but doesn’t allow us to get too much ‘ahead of ourselves’. A good image for SATURN in SAG.

The SUN will pass the ‘gate’ of SATURN in SAG on Dec 10. Time to give ourselves the ‘Ring’, and commit to a Path of Heart and Cour-age. Let’s be rooted in our Hearts, and not be held back by fears to follow our Heart! Always a good reminder that the Sagittarian Archer/ess pulls the arrow back to her / his HEART while aiming high!

As we connect in Heart Consciousness we not only rise in our own vibration but raise vibrations that affect those around us, and energetically a whole ‘field’.

Do you believe this?  Have you experienced this?

If you’re birthday is round Dec 10 you have SATURN on your SUN these days / weeks / months, a major maturation of Spirit (that’s ‘due’ every 29 years), and perhaps some karmic ‘graduation tests’ too, when it comes to trusting yourself, your intuition and knowing, being in your natural authority, and on your Path.

Chakra Awakening

In the Chakras, the SUN is astrologically related to the CROWN Chakra, and SATURN to the ROOT Chakra.
On Dec 13, we’ll reach in our present Crown-to-ROOT Astrological Chakra Journey the ROOT Chakra and SATURN! Gotta love synchronicities, showing us we’re naturally connected.

If you feel called to Chakras 4 to 1 (Heart, Solar Plexus, Sacral, Root), with YOUR related Astrology, you are welcome to join us in the next weeks on Tuesdays, in person or via Skype. In other words, drop-in welcome.
I’d like to offer another ROOT to CROWN Astrological Chakra Journey from early January on, likely Jan 4. Let me know if you’re ready to come on board! No prerequisites, re: Astrology or Chakras. An open mind and heart are good assets.
Here’s the FB Event for the current Journey: https://www.facebook.com/events/1687579281560705/

* TAURUS – SCORPIO Full Moon (Nov 14): Finding our Ground in the Changefulness.

14 Nov

What a wave and surge of deep emotions that are usually under the surface, since ‘New Seeds in the Darkness’ (motto of the last Astro~News) were planted, with the SCO New Moon on Oct 30. First a ‘dark and quiet before the storm’, leading up to the U.S. elections last week, and followed by an outburst of responses and reactions after the results were clear. What comes up needed to come out, cathartically.

Yet, dwelling or freezing in projecting our fear of the unknown, or rather: fear of the anticipated, disempowers us and weakens our energy field.

Well aware of the danger of ‘spiritual by-passing’, I’m more interested in looking at the cosmic, archetypal, astrological picture that presents itself nowadays – and wrote a 2-part not too long blog about ‘The American Evolution – An Astrological Perspective’ – featuring the chart of the U.S., and its transits, as well as the archetypal roles and activations for and through Bernie Sanders, Hillary Clinton, and Donald Trump.

Take a read here:

SCORPIO is the Alchemy that transforms ‘lead into gold’, or depressing, heavy states into pure consciousness.

In the last few weeks, have you come through lots of emotional transformation, yet processed it faster than before? Maybe because it’s such a collective momentum, and we as Humanity go to deep core issues that are usually ‘left alone’.

The key for the fixed energy of SCO is to ‘not be afraid of the dark’, not resist, get stuck, or hurt yourself, and process ‘all the way through’, to allow the Alchemy do its magical thing. Even ‘simply’ by honestly addressing: ”What’s even deeper than this?”

We have moved through the central core = central 10 degrees and 10 days of SCO – round Nov 2 – 12, and are coming now to the ‘mutable’ part of SCO until Nov 21, where – this year also coordinated with and aided by the FULL MOON and waning lunar cycle – things get ‘washed out’ and released, to give room for the SAGITTARIAN light and space and freedom.

Speaking of Scorpionic Alchemy: Just before writing the Astro~News yesterday, something wanted to alchemize spontaneously: I felt called to ‘experiment’ with picking a Voyager Tarot card for the energies of the TAU – SCO Full Moon, and share its message to you. After the first card the process naturally turned into a 3-card spread.

I intuitively ‘sealed’ and activated it with a Hematite Heart that wanted to be in the spread ‘constellation’. https://www.healingcrystals.com/Tumbled_Hematite__Brazil__-_Tumbled_Stones.html says (found it after the fact): ”Hematite helps to absorb negative energy and calms you in times of stress or worry. Hematite is a very protective stone, and is great to carry to help you stay grounded in many situations. Hematite can boost confidence, and is also good for working with the Root Chakra.
Hematite can help one to find their own gifts and to release self-imposed limitations. Hematite can help with the ascension process, by facilitating the integration of higher spiritual energies into our physical 3-D existence. Hematite is also used to protect against geopathic stress and electromagnetic smog, and is said to be a great detoxifying stone, helpful for the liver and the blood.”

The order I picked them is not what you might think, by looking at the spread which rearranged itself as shown in the photo – I explain it in the paragraphs below.

And wow – now as I look at it and connect it with the Full Moon chart it is perfectly ‘in place’… take a peek at the chart below. If you’re somewhat of an Astro insider you know what I mean… and I’ll point to the chart connection along the way of ‘reading’ the cards.

Soo, the Man of Cups – Surfer showed up first, and yes, that guides us not go under but skilfully surf through and on the intense waves of energy in our oceanic interconnectedness (NEPTUNE / South Node in PISCES – was exact on Nov 4 but influences the whole Fall 2016, and is balanced by the North Node in VIRGO, incentivizing us to be in our overall health / wellness integrity, to apply our tools, be discerning, and do the clearing. NEPTUNE is this month ‘stationary’ as it will change direction from retro to forward in the Zodiac, on Nov 19. Neptunian November…

CHIRON is these years (2010 – 2018) in PI as well, showing us the collective and personal ‘wounds’ and their intrinsic ‘medicine’: When we get overwhelmed, what helps us feel fully connected to and as Source, and allows for release and flow, in the unified field of Being?

In the Full Moon chart, PI with NEP / NN and CHI are also on the ‘right bottom’, houses 4 and 5.

Then came the Woman of Cups – Rejoicer. A beautiful illustration of the TAURUS Full Moon – such a sensual and en-joy (TAU) – able vibe! The MOON is ‘exalted’ in TAU – ‘highest’ position and fullest expression for the MOON in the Zodiac: Being nurtured with all senses, in and as Nature. You TAU MOON babes out there probably know what I’m talking about. There is even a Full Moon above the head of the right woman’s head! Spider webs and nature-spa like atmosphere relate to the regenerative SCO SUN energy that’s reflected ‘on the face of the MOON’.

Fascinating that Man and Woman of Cups – the natural ‘Watery Couple’ came up, with the MOON and SCO connection!
Looking at the chart, PISCES (the realm of the Surfer) and TAURUS (the realm of the Rejoicer) have at their opposite midpoint LIBRA, with JUPITER being presently almost the exact midpoint activator and enhancer. LIBRA is the energy of the ‘Sacred Marriage’, inner and outer. Not just about ‘finding the perfect match’ but, first of all, balancing and marrying the Inner Masculine and Feminine within. This is so up nowadays as a BIG theme, with JUPITER in LI since 09 / 09, until 10 / 10, 2017.
JUPITER in LI will form a significant transit just before the next New Moon, exact on Nov 24 that’s been building up this Fall: A square to PLUTO in CAP (#1 out of 3 – two more to follow in 2017): Balance is crucial for integrity and sustainability.

And the last card: Death XIII Major Arcana. Scorpionic – Plutonic. The energy of SUN / LILITH (they were exactly aligned on Remembrance Day, 11 / 11) in SCO. Death as a Force of Nature. Scary to face the death mask perhaps… grieving of what’s dead and over, yet also a stillness, like the Dead Sea in the background, which is also a regenerative place. A rather eerie Moon hovers over the stillness…

How can we be with and in and as the river that must go to the Sea, aware of the impermanence of all phenomena, incl. the Taurean bodily experience, yet like nature connected to the undying regenerative life force?!

Perhaps a central and deeper message of the FULL MOON in TAURUS opposite the SUN / LILITH in SCORPIO.

* The Full Moon Chart: A Fuller Picture…

The SuperSuper FULL MOON will be today Nov 14 at 5:52 am PST – at Moonset. Given the rain at this point, it’s not very likely that we see the large MOON disk from our vantage point here on Vancouver Island ‘physically’ (TAU) – aww. Gotta rely on energetic download. All good.

Pretty straight-forward, this Full Moon chart, though. Nice change from the cosmic patterns of recent.

And you can probably see now what I meant with alignment of the Voyager Tarot 3-card spread above with the chart:

  • The Death card showed up where the SCO AC with LILITH and the SUN are: Shining light of consciousness on our deep dark nature that, like nature, is always subject to change of form yet always IS, and just changes form.

  • The Man of Cups / Surfer card showed up where NEPTUNE / South Node and CHIRON in PI are, in Water trine with the SCO SUN / LILITH, and opp. the North Node in VIR: Being one with the energy currents and waves, and surfing them skilfully is the way to go and let-go. NEPTUNE and CHIRON are a strong stationary influence this month.

  • The Woman of Cups / Rejoicer card showed up where the MOON in TAU is: Balancing all that depth and surf with embodied enjoyment, and finding worth and value in the joy of being, liberated from being occupied with (and by!) the ups and downs of mental-emotional waves and (under)currents.

  • JUPITER in LIBRA, in the midpoint (how LIBRAN also!) area opposite the NEPTUNEian Surfer and the LUNAR Rejoicer, calling us to find balance of inner and outer masculine and feminine, and other ways of being intrinsically at peace. JUPITER is about to square PLUTO in CAP – exact on Nov 24 (two more exact alignments to follow in 2017). Ideally, bringing relationships (LI) to a new level that serves the highest purpose (CAP). Other manifestations are of course also in the cards (see below in the JUPITER square PLUTO feature).

  • PLUTO will also visited by VENUS (ruler of LIBRA) on Nov 25, just one day after JUPITER in LI squares PLUTO in CAP. Great opportunities (inevitabilities?) to attract from a deep soul level, and for the highest purpose.

  • Finally, MERCURY is now in SAG (since Nov 12, until Dec 2), will square NEPTUNE on Nov 19, and pass SATURN on Nov 23. An important time to guard the mind from too many ‘random’ influences that could contaminate thoughts, blur the vision and distract us from our focus. Yet also a nice edge for imagination and inspiration.

* Sabian Symbol for the Full Moon Degree:

Personal Worth.

The Full Moon will be at 22°37’ TAU (see chart below).

Keynote: The social confirmation of natural excellence.

Two elements should be distinguished in this symbolic picture: The gems that result from natural processes, often induced by extreme volcanic heat and pressure, and the finished products and refined craftsmen. Both the gems themselves and the artistry are highly prized and bring prestige to the owner of the jewels. The symbol applies to any product in which culturally acquired skill has embellished or transformed the end results of a lengthy and demanding natural process.

At this stage we are concerned with the social process which brings about a CERTIFICATION OF PERSONAL WORTH.”

This Symbol called for another (crystal enhanced) Voyager Tarot card as an illustration: Woman of Crystals – Guardian.

Voyager Woman of Crystals - Guardian Crystals 3

Image: Crystal Activated Voyager Tarot card Woman of Crystals – Guardian (photo and crystal activation by Melanie).

Here is what the reference book says (with some of my comments in italics):
“The mind, like the crystal, is beautiful and rich and therefore susceptible to exploitation (just consider the influence of the media nowadays…). Like the Crystal Woman, guard the mind, your greatest natural resource (which leads over to MERCURY, Archetype of the mind, now in SAG, and conj. SATURN on Nov 23). Protect it against invading negativities such as confusion, delusion, defeatism, dullness, and narrowness, by giving it the hardness and impenetrability of the diamond. (MERCURY will first square NEPTUNE, on Nov 18, before meeting SATURN).

Like the Woman of Crystals, maintain dominion over your mind. Train it. Continuously aware of its workings, you are able to direct and focus it at will. Meditate. (Great advice and timing for MERCURY square NEPTUNE and conj. SATURN over the next week – and beyond of course)

The crystal also heals. You are a therapist and counselor, a healer of the mind. You bring mental health to yourself and others. You are able to articulate what you see intuitively. Trust your logic and your intuition.”

Hence, guarding the mind can be the crown jewel of excellence.
As we opt out of being distracted by many externally and internally alluring ‘shiny objects’ we can develop our deep natural excellence more fully.

Natural excellence and personal worth may be but don’t have to be socially confirmed. I believe LILITH in SCO would agree.

SCORPIO New Moon Chart & Sabian Symbol: Deep Waters & Quiescence

30 Oct

Happy SCORPIO New Moon cycle of Magic and Transformation to you, dear Reader!
Hope you saw part 1 of the Astro~News from yesterday.

Been waiting for part 2, with the chart and the Sabian Symbol?

As you see, what stands out is:
SUN / MOON / MERCURY in early SCO, in Water Trine with NEPTUNE / South Node in PI, and sextile with the North Node in VIR.

An uncomfortable perhaps – it’s SCO after all – yet: golden opportunity to dive to the bottom of things that are usually hidden and covered, where our cobwebs and inner subtle yet ever so seductive and effective traps are (SCO is great at laying traps) and to transform ‘hidden agenda’, delusion, self deception, wishful thinking, hypnotic and addictive states.

J / H

A time to take a good look at the ghosts (our inner ghosts and the ghosts ‘in the machine’) that ‘usually’ elude us. Of course this ‘hyde’ and seek / find effect also applies to interpersonal / relational, and transpersonal / societal and spiritual ‘affairs’.

Even though, the South Node with NEPTUNE in PI (exact encounter on Nov 4!) is such a ‘gravitational’ draw, the North Node in VIR helps with the incentive for keen awareness, rational analysis, clarity, and discernment.

The interdimensional veil is thin, these days of Samhain / Halloween and All Saints / All Souls.

Heavenly Waters Blessings – Photo by Melanie

An invitation to tap into the mystical, magical, ‘transcendental intimacy’, and pick up creative inspiration, perhaps even communication from ‘beyond’ and subtle perception.

Without being drawn into spooky, sticky, foggy, fishy vibes, though. When we ‘smell’ those, and our gut sense or 6th sense give us an orange light, we better beware and ‘swim away’. All good practice.

Oh, and some practical magic might do the trick. Like smudging, a New Moon transformation / release ritual, and daily practices of exercise, cleansing, detox, taking in fresh healthy food, water, and air.

These are the days of miracles and magic…

In the New Moon chart, you can also see two major transits this week:

  • MARS in late CAP square URANUS retro in late AR (was exact on Oct 28).

Standing Rock water protectors from so many indigenous tribes and non indigenous solidarity clashed with police force, and this now flared-up issue could spread like wild fire. So many people are angry (MARS) at governments, institutions, industrial exploitation (shadow of CAP, brought up with PLUTO in CAP nowa-years – 2009 – 2023). A wake-up call & radical renewal of consciousness (UR in AR).

  • VENUS conj. SATURN, both in mid SAG (was exact on Oct 29).

Thank Goddess! A good grounding balance for the MARS square UR energy. The VENUS / SATURN combo invited us to commit to the Path of Inner Truth-in-Love, Heart Wisdom, Gratitude, and Higher Ground – incl. stepping UP from the gravity of mainstream consciousness and values.

* Sabian Symbol for the New Moon Degree: Quiescence.

The New Moon is at 7°43’ SCO (see chart).

8° SCORPIO says:

Moonlight on Lake Ontario. Photo by Diego T. Silvestre

Keynote: A quiet openness to higher inspiration.

One could stress the romantic suggestions such an image evokes, but even at the level of love relationship what is implied is a surrender of two personal egos to the inspiration of transcendent feelings which are essentially impersonal. Love expresses itself through the lovers, for real Love is a cosmic undifferentiated principle or power which simply focuses itself within the souls of human beings who reflect its light.

The same is true of the mystic’s love for God. Man strives hard to achieve great things through daring adventures, but a moment comes when all that really matters is to present a calm mind upon which a supernal light may be reflected.

This stage tells us that beyond all efforts lies the need for peace and the readiness to accept the illumination from above. The keyword is QUIESCENCE.”

What an inspiration to open into this sublime space and let a new seed be planted, in darkness.

The mystical, transcendental atmosphere of SCORPIO & PISCES is evoked and invoked.

The symbol reminded me also of  Tchaikovsky’s Lake in Moonlight, from Swan Lake. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_P65WNm48p0

Blessings for the NEW MOON in SCORPIO – and so much more!

29 Oct

Blessings for the NEW MOON in SCORPIO tomorrow Oct 30 (at 10:38 am PDT)!

Happy Diwali – Hindu Festival of Light tomorrow (which is already today in India) Oct 30!

Happy Halloween Oct 31 & Feliz Dias de los Muertos Oct 31 – Nov 2!

Blessings for All Saints Day on Nov 1, and All Souls Day on Nov 2!

May the Scorpionic Magic do its work!

May we allow the winds of change take down the ‘leaves’ (and old be-liefs, says SATURN in SAG) that are ready for transformation now!
And may we appreciate the gifts of every season in the great cycle!

09-10 Fernwood PY 5

Check out these amazing pieces of impermanent Pumpkin Art, as seen in 2009 at the former yearly Fernwood Pumpkin Yard! It was one of the last years of the Pumpkin Yard and its artistic, prolific, carving house community. Spirit prevails, even though forms – like pumpkins disintegrate…

Happy Samhain / Halloween!

It is the mid SCORPIO ‘Gate of Power’.

We are approaching in the Zodiac cycle of the SUN the Heart of the Scorpion the center of the Fall Season and Celtic festival of Samhain.

Which was traditionally celebrated on Oct 31 when the ‘Summer’ and harvest time ended. On Nov 1 began a new Celtic calendar year. With large fires, the Celtic people thanked the SUN God for the good harvest, and expelled the evil spirits who wandered around that night. On Oct 31 also those who died in the past year were commemorated. Many believed that the dead returned to their old homes in the night to find warmth and friendship. The lit pumpkins at the door steps or in the windows symbolize skulls with the eternal light of the soul in it. The spirits who had not walked home into the light, wandering at night, scared people, and played tricks on them.

Nov 1 was eventually declared by the Church the Day of All Saints (holy ones), and Nov 2 All Souls Day.

‘All Hallows Evening’ or simply ‘Hallows E’en’ became later Halloween.

Celtic Wheel of the Year, with Yule, Imbolc, Ostara, Beltane, Litha, Lughnassad, Mabon, Samhain.

Even though, mid Scorpio and central Fall are traditionally being celebrated with Halloween / Samhain on Oct 31, the exact centre (15°) of Scorpio is not on Oct 31 but round Nov 7.

Happy Diwali – Hindu Festival of Light tomorrow (which is already today in India) Oct 30!

Lakshmi Ma, one of the deities that are invoked and honoured at Diwali.

Blessings for All Saints Day on Nov 1 and All Souls Day on Nov 2!

Feliz Dias de los Muertos Oct 31 – Nov 2!

Mexican Dia de los Muertos Calavera Altar (picture from Wiki Commons)

In Catholic Bavaria where I come from and where my biological family lives, on All Saints Day (Nov 1), similarly to Dia de los Muertos in Mexico yet more solemnly, traditionally families visit the graves of their ancestors, after a mass. A time of bringing fresh flowers, love, prayers and candles to the resting place of their bones, and to honour the undying soul. Maybe a time to let go, to forgive, and know, love is all that matters.

Halloween pumpkins with candles inside originally represented skulls with the eternal light of the undying soul ‘inside’. Through dying and transforming appearances Light prevails.

The carved face or feature is the ‘façade’ and appearance, and the candle light is Spirit ‘behind’ and ‘inside’ it.

Perhaps a different way of looking at ‘carved pumpkins’ or of carving one…. And a different way of looking at ANY appearances…

Blessings for the NEW MOON in SCORPIO tomorrow Oct 30 (at 10:38 am PDT)!

Lots of shake-up, wake-up calls, turmoil and uproar, yet hopefully also liberating breakthroughs that the recent and here on the West Coast stormy Full Moon in ARIES (with URANUS) – LIBRA (on Oct 15 / 16) has brought!

Personally to the areas in our lives reflected by the ARIES – LIBRA axis in our charts, and likely in relationship dynamics (Full Moon, LIBRA involved) in general.

The now slowly disintegrating (or shall I say: integrating in our consciousness) mutable T-Square from the Lunar South Node, together (exactly this coming week!) with NEPTUNE in PISCES, and the Lunar North Node in VIRGO to SATURN in SAG, has shown us how much we can be pulled into confusion, seduction, overwhelm yet never enough (‘hungry ghost’ syndrome), and how important it is to be smart and discerning (VIRGO North Node), to be in our authority of knowing, and to stay on our Heart & Dharma Path (SATURN in SAG).

Addictions are often and perhaps in their core an overcompensated, misdirected need for deeper soul connection which in our modern, materialistic world is so missing. The ueber-influence of the media (which are one expression of PISCES energy – since they reach mass consciousness, and can be ‘viral’ and ‘contagious’, hypnotic and subliminal, and addictive – who can be without their media handheld for more than a day without withdrawal symptoms, these days???) has shown big time, over the last while. Partially yes, they bring information that’s waking us up from the collective dream, yet also still so pervasive in mass media, they feed confusion, overwhelm, dullness, addiction, and consumerism, and perpetuate hypnotic states, and a sense of victimhood.

All shadow / low vibrational expressions of NEPTUNE AND the Lunar South Node in PISCES where energy gets lost if overly indulged in.

The VIRGO North Node (activated through the Lunar Eclipse in PI – VIR on Sept 16) calls us to give more weight to awareness and discernment, to be smart, and rather focus on our overall health and wellness, rather than getting entangled in the web of delusion. And to offer practical service that helps others and fulfills us too.

SATURN in SAG, yesterday (Oct 28) met by VENUS, has been in sharp square with the Lunar Nodal Axis (PI – VIR).

A challenge (SATURN) to see (SAG) through make-belief, mystery and chaos (PI), and know the truth (SAG) beyond the spin.

A call to rise up (SAG) to the challenge and reward (SATURN) of following the Path of Heart (SAG) and being in our inner Knowing Authority is the way out (and IN – rather than spinning centrifugally).

  • In what ways have you felt drained, entangled, and overwhelmed?
  • What have you been exposing yourself to that sucked your energy?
  • How can simple healthy practices (walks in nature – without e devices of course, Yoga, Qi Gong, healthy meals, good sleep / wake rhythm…) help you with feeling more embodied, well functioning, and grounded in your temple?
  • What does self awareness say to all this? Who are YOU, and what are you here for?
  • What does common sense and a healthy sense of discernment say to your choices?
  • When your Heart is open where does it call you to, and what do you simply KNOW?

Sagittarius, Ruled by Jupiter - Painting by Johfra Bosschart

Johfra Bosschart: Jupiter Rules Sagittarius.

Can you feel a shift of the heavy SATURN energy that seemed to have ‘blocked  the way’?

Today, Oct 29, VENUS in SAG meets and passes SATURN (happens once a year): Heart Wisdom and Heart Truth can help us move past fears and separative ego, and over thresholds / barriers / obstacles on the Path (maybe a test, and initiation), and into Freedom.
Less is more, and voluntary restraint (rather than “anything goes”, or restrictions and rejection apparently coming towards one, from the outside) can be very beneficial in the long run.

  • WHERE in your life this plays out (e.g. in your body, your work, your relationships, your social network) can be seen in your personal birth chart. I’m happy to shed light on this with you, astrologically.

A good time – blessed by the New Moon tomorrow, to commit to a Path of Heart and Cour-age.

In the Chakras, VENUS is related to the HEART Chakra, and SATURN to the ROOT Chakra. So let’s be rooted in our Hearts, and not be held back by fears to follow our Heart! Always a good reminder that the Sagittarian Archer/ess pulls the arrow back to her / his HEART before aiming high!

On the ‘Tipping Point’ from LIBRA to SCORPIO (which the SUN crossed on Oct 22, and MERCURY on Oct 24), choices have consequences, not just politically, even though that’s been so in our face, re: U.S. presidential elections lately, but on all levels, personally, interpersonally in relationships, and transpersonally / spiritually.

I like to call the LI / SCO cusp also ‘Alchemy Point’ where ‘ingredients’ or components or people or relating factors in good measure (LI) come together and the dynamic ‘dance’ between them is transformational and creates a new alchemy (SCO).

  • Do you relate to those themes if you were born with SUN, MOON, AC, or Planets / Nodes on the ‘Tipping Point’ / ‘Alchemy Point’?

  • Are you in a changeful time of inner or outer transformation, in or out of a career, home situation, or relationship?
  • Which changes IN you does your outer change reflect?

I’m here to support you in your process, and to ease the journey.
Astrology based customized counsel leads to eye opening awareness, growth, healing, release, transformation, and you feel more connected with the bigger evolution. Ultimately, you dwell in a witnessing place ‘in the hub of the wheel’ where you are less and less affected, and more and more liberated.

I’m always happy to welcome you as a client who is not seeking a ‘reading’ (“What’s going to happen TO me?”, “What am I supposed to do?”), but to be supported in accessing your own wisdom source, especially in times of a challenging transitions, stuckness, transformational crisis, or for perspective, at a crossroad, dilemma, or decision making processes.

Also, one way or another, this is the transformation into a new U.S. government. Interesting, that the U.S. chose the early Nov, central SCO as Election Day (yearly in the calendar, see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Election_Day_(United_States) ). What do the planners know about Astrology?

JUPITER entered LIBRA on Sept 9, for 1 year and 1 month, until Oct 10, 2017, and the issues of choices, relationships and agreements / contracts, balance, justice, fairness, harmony, peace become ‘bigger’, and we become aware how important they are.

On Nov 24 – U.S. Thanksgiving Day, JUPITER in LIBRA (conjunct SATURN in the U.S. chart) will for the first time (again March 30 and Aug 4, 2017) square PLUTO in CAP. That looks like heightened tension and conflict over issues of integrity, sustainability, respect and wise use of natural resources (all CAP themes – PLUTO brings up the ugly face of how humans and human structures have abused, wasted, and disrespected the Earth, esp. since PLUTO was the last time in CAP in the late 18th century). PLUTO shows where what’s unsustainable and destructive must change in the core (not just on the surface).

It’s also a heightened time to bring relationships (LIBRA) to a new level that serves the highest purpose (CAP). What doesn’t, and what can’t sustain is being purged, transformed, and ‘repurposed’, in this Plutonic, cathartic clearing process.

In my Astrology consulting practice I’m always very happy to see couples come to a session together (whether in person or via skype) to shed light on their dynamics and evolution of their relationship, from a ‘cosmic perspective’. You are most welcome to ask me if you have questions how a couple session could look like and what it involves.

Tomorrow’s (Oct 30) NEW MOON in SCORPIO – ruled by PLUTO, plants Soul Seeds into the concentrated, richly transformational soil of our deepest, often hidden (even from ourselves) and covered dark realms that are waiting for renewal and rebirth.

Every NEW MOON is a conception point. Yin / MOON and Yang / the SUN unite.

To align with the cosmic conception, in a balancing way, I’d suggest

  • In an active Yang way, set a new intention, and take initiative, in the area of life related to early to mid SCO in your chart.
  • In a receptive Yin way, be open for new ‘conceptions’ in that realm!

MERCURY in SCO is very close to the NEW MOON too (see chart below). MERCURY just passed the SUN on Oct 27.

In SCO, MERCURY is quite the Alchemist.

  • What’s the creative Alchemy (maybe a writing or otherwise creative project) you’re cooking up, or that’s bubbling under the surface?

Stay tuned for the New Moon chart, and Sabian Symbol!

* The SUN crosses the ‘Alchemy Point’ into SCORPIO, and MERCURY follows (Oct 22 / 24): Into the Darkness – where Transformation Happens.

22 Oct

So here we are again, reaching the ‘Tipping Point’ or ‘Alchemy Point’ from LIBRA to SCORPIO, seasonally / energetically through the Spirit of the SUN.
The SUN enters SCO this afternoon, Oct 22 at 4:46 pm PDT.

And via MERCURY, the mind in its intellectual function is now also geared to dive into the dark and otherwise hidden realms. MERCURY enters SCO on Oct 24 at 1:48 pm PDT, and will travel in the deep zones until Nov 12 when it crosses over the ‘Phoenix Point’ into SAG.

Mercurius, ‘processed’ in the alchemical retort – very MERCURY in SCO. Medieval painting, origin unknown.

An excellent time to go into deep inner transformational processes, and allow magic to do its work (as in our Crown-to-Root Astro Chakra Alchemy Journey).

And to actively ‘cook up’, or find and magically uncover yet unseen connections.

On Oct 27, MERCURY will meet and pass the SUN in SCO – a.k.a. ‘Superior Conjunction’ / their connection furthest away from, and exactly in-between the MERCURY retro half-way connections.

A double-edged sword.
On one hand, an intellectual / mental boost of energy – geared to go deep with creative and intellectual endeavours.
And an opportunity for a transformation of consciousness, through speech, writing, and communication, and transformation of the workings of the mind itself.

Yet also the time when MERCURY will take the lead again, ‘ahead of’ the SUN (Spirit / Consciousness). In this period, when the mind gets so strong it’s good to be mindful, and aware that the mind is not the master but always the Heart and Spirit / Consciousness (the SUN in Astrology)
So that the ‘natural order’ doesn’t have to be all re-arranged under the next MERCURY retro in CAP (Dec 19 – Jan 8).

The NEW MOON in SCORPIO will be on Oct 30 – so close to Halloween and All Saints / All Souls, when the veil between dimensions is thin.

Stay tuned for the next Astro~News!

* Halloween / Samhain Blessings! Entering the mid SCORPIO ‘Gate of Power’ – the Power of Letting GO!

31 Oct

We are approaching in the Zodiac the Heart of the Scorpion the center of the Fall Season, and Celtic festival of Samhain.

Which is traditionally celebrated on Oct 31 when the ‘Summer’ and harvest time ended.

Nov 1 was eventually declared by the Church the Day of All Saints (holy ones), and Nov 2 All Soul’s Day.

‘All Hallows Evening’ or simply ‘Hallows E’en’ became later Halloween.

Even though, mid Scorpio and central Fall are traditionally being celebrated with Halloween / Samhain on Oct 31, the actual centre (15°) of Scorpio is not on Oct 31 but round Nov 7.

The Scorpionic energy becomes very concentrated in this ‘fixed’ part of mid SCORPIO. Deep, otherwise hidden, psychic material comes out, like ghosts from the past.

Only to be released, with love and compassion…

This year, the mid SCO SUN is in trine with NEPTUNE retro in PI (exact yesterday Oct 30), and in trine with CHIRON retro in PI (exact on Nov 9): Love is Letting Go(d).

Things are not as hard and difficult anymore as under the SATURN in SCO years (Oct 2012 – Sept 2015) which cleared our ‘skeletons in the closet’ – not once and for all, but a lot of stuck energy had to be processed, compliments to SATURN.

Celtic Wheel of the Year with the cardinal Turning Points of the Equinoxes and Solstices, and the fixed ‘Gates of Power’ of Beltane, Lammas, Samhain / Halloween, and Imbolc.

Fear not.

Dive, purge, swim, flow, let go.

Do sacred practice.

To thyself be true.

Blessings for the magical season!
