Wesak Moon Days of ‘Incubation’ and Distribution :: Sitting as Buddha Nature Sets us Free!

10 May

The day of the WESAK MOON is here… (see my yesterday’s post).
Today, I felt called to shed more light on the tradition, and how we can bring it ‘back home’ here-now:

In the Buddhist community, the Full Moon in May is celebrated as the Buddha’s birthday, attaining of enlightenment, and leaving of the earthly incarnation.
Here’s probably the best web article about Wesak / Vesak (from good old crystalinks).

With the WESAK MOON, the astrological TAURUS – SCORPIO axis is powerfully illumined every year.

SCORPIO is the the MOON the most ‘challenging’ sign (while the MOON is considered ‘exalted’ in yummy, nourishing TAURUS – so strong this year with the TAURUS NEW MOON – is is considered ‘in fall’ in SCORPIO):
The MOON represents our emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and the needs and habits developed from that place, which by nature long for nurturance and sustenance (it all started in the womb).
TAURUS is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery and assimilation (just like nature in Spring). Whereas SCORPIO rules necessary detoxifying elimination, partly through painful processes – which is not what our Lunar (representative also of the Inner Child) self is most comfortable with – to put it mildly.

Under a SCORPIO MOON (whether we’re born with it, have it by progression (for 2 1/2 years every 29 years), or whether the MOON in SCORPIO for 2 1/2 days per month affects us, we are instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge, and get rid of what is toxic and outlived, what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free in a deeper sense. The process may call us to go into the ‘mouth of the monster’, and through its bowels even, while our head and ego might severely protest and resist. A SCOPRIO MOON experience can lead us to the deepest abyss of our inner worlds, yet is an opportunity to take us through it, and be regenerated and transformed through the process. Psychotherapy and initiation happens, whether in a formal or informal setting…

The SCORPIO – TAURUS WESAK MOON each year is a fully solar illumined (therefore most potent) SCORPIO MOON that reveals our deepest needs for transformation.
Consciousness (represented by the SUN) has to be intent to patiently stay and sit with (TAURUS) what comes up from the depth, for the processing. I that sense, the polarity axis of TAU and SCO can be bridged in complementary, cooperative, and productive ways.

The central spiritual (esp. Buddhist) themes of attachment vs. transformation are being highlighted in the ‘Bull’s Eye’ and the ‘Scorpion’s Stinger’, which could look like:

  • Fighting with the inner dragon (the ‘inner monster’ always growing more heads as one might be slayed / one issue might be ‘dealt with’), and / or sooo much inner painful processing – the suffering version of the SCO MOON side, in its outer yang and inner yin version,
  • Dealing with the inner ‘hungry ghosts’, as Buddhists would call it: Our mouth, and all our sense organs in general, can only take in so much, yet the belly of desire is big and insatiable… – that’s the suffering on the TAU side: In an outer yang way, through consuming, pur-chasing(!), acquiring more and more, while never being satisfied, and in an a yin way: trying to attract and you never feel good enough…

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the Buddha floating on a Taurean lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully, while rooted in the Scorpionic mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality of having gone through, and continuing to go through deep processes, The embodiment of the enlightened consciousness continues and sustains.

The WESAK Moon is a very potent opportunity for attunement to, receptivity and assimilation of cosmic energies, meditation, and openness for transformational change. It offers a strong reception, safeguarding, and distribution of spiritual energy on the Earth plane, from many dimensions and traditions..
Its effects extend over time.

Speaking of time: The spiritually auspicious WESAK Full Moon in its charged SCO – TAU energy has been building up well before, and is still available well after the exact alignment, as it requires and also helps us to ground ourselves (TAU) in consciousness (SUN), even in the apparent, perceived (MOON) predicament and abyss around us (SCO).

So let’s be present with what IS (which includes inner and overpowering ‘external’ demons), while sustaining a vision for humanity, together with others (the universal Sangha = spiritual community)!

Heart_Meditation

In esoteric traditions, the day of the WESAK Festival is dedicated as a ‘Day of Safeguarding’, followed by two Days  of Distribution.

In short, on the WESAK Moon Day (of Safeguarding), the spiritual community is called to regard themselves as recipients and custodians if as much of that inflowing spiritual force as they can possibly hold.
This corresponds with the quality and capacity of fixed signs, and is a perfect expression for the SCO MOON, this year active from Tue May 9 until the morning of Thu May 11 (9:59 am PDT), and peaking at the exact FULL MOON (today Wed May 10 at 2:42 pm PDT).
In other words, the whole span of the SCO MOON time is a ‘safeguarding’ energy.

In the Days of Distribution following the Festival, it is suggested to turn the attention away from one’s inner subjective planes, in order to pass on the spiritual energy that has been received, ‘to whom it may concern’ / who comes into our ‘field’.
This corresponds with the mutable, distributing, and ‘broadcasting’ SAG MOON that follows the SCO MOON ‘container’. The MOON will cross this year over the ‘Phoenix Point’ into SAG at 9:59 am PDT on Thu May 11, and be in SAG until Sat May 13 at 10:37 pm PDT.

May the Spirit of the WESAK MOON transmute us, rise, and find its way!
May we recognize the source of suffering, and be FREE!

May love, kindness, and peace be in you and me, and ALL!
WESAK MOON Blessings!

MARS in TAURUS (March 9 – Apr 21): Pursue Natural Desires, Enjoy, yet Remain Unattached. Be in Nature, and in Your Nature!

10 Mar

Yesterday March 9, MARS left ARIES and entered TAURUS where the ‘Warrior’ energy will dwell until April 21:

Pursue Desires, Enjoy, yet Remain Unattached.

Be in Nature and in Your Nature!

Johfra Bosschart Taurus

Johfra Bosschart: Venus Rules Taurus (and the Martian Warrior Takes a Rest)

As Spring is on the doorstep here (finally – thanks Goddess for granting the gift of patience!) on the WestCoast, the Martian energy settling into TAURUS invites us to slow down, enjoy Life with all our senses, plant our garden, and take some time to relax…

…after perhaps battling the elements, or with others, running and rushing here and there, starting a lot of fires, and being highly charged and challenged, under MARS in fast and furious ARIES (Jan 27 – March 9).
MARS in in its ruled sign ARIES is a fast, direct, initiatory energy, and brought up anger and the impulse to assert.

MARS in fiery ARIES came to a crescendo end of February, when it squared PLUTO the Transformer, opposed JUPITER the Amplifier / Magnifier, and joined forces with URANUS the Awakener / Electrifier, round the last New Moon – the PISCES ‘Ring of Fire’ Solar Eclipse.
How was it for you? Did you ‘jump’ – or ‘surf’ through it – and perhaps let go of old co-dependent vibrations, on the way?
A catalyst energy for transformation, opening, and liberation. Perhaps something in you like in myself ‘suddenly’ shifted, and helped make new, more spacious choices, setting the tone for better, more balanced relationships.

MARS is our assertion / life force / vitality Archetype. It rules the Solar Plexus Chakra – our power centre. You know that sensation in the stomach when getting triggered…
Always good to check in and register what that has to do with the Ego. Yes, MARS is also the ‘Ego Planet’, expressing itself in ARIES rather direct and aggressively / assertingly: “This is what I want and going for. And I’m doing it – actually: NOW.” Butting heads and flared-up battling can be an immediate effect when assertions conflict. Definitely an assertive time over the last 1 1/2 months…

Sheep Babies

Sheep Babies – baaaahh!

Or it could have expressed itself as emergence and spontaneous action. Innocent. Baby steps. Just going for it, trying out something new, rather than contemplating and ruminating. ARIES is the first sign of the Zodiac. The Spring Lamb.
Hopefully we could channel the energy into this spontaneous, authentic action – and get up and start fresh when things were short-lived, or didn’t go anywhere.

With MARS now in TAURUS the energy lends itself to slowwwing down and literally sitting and meditating, sitting with our initiatives and choices, smelling the fragrances of Spring, tasting yummy food, listening to the sounds of music and the sounds of nature, enjoying Life with all our senses, and honouring Mother Nature (every day is Earth Day!) and our earthly existence.

In its nearly 2-year cycle, MARS was in TAURUS the last time early April until mid-May 2015. We’re coming full circle now with what we planted and what took roots then.
One thing that comes to mind for me immediately from that time is the actions (MARS) I took to upgrade my business (ruled by TAURUS – yep, and it did cost some money – a Taurean domain too) with new technology. It was a time to literally sit down, and slowly get used to the new technology – an on-going practice in Taurean patience… 🙂
Now it’s time for more upgrades – and more patience and persistence.

In TAURUS, the first Earth sign of the Zodiac, MARS has us be grounded, give more attention to our body and its natural desires, and step into tangible, sensate experience of being alive. We tend to rather pursue security and stability than ephemeral adventures. Our motivation to assert (MARS) what be value (TAU) is strong – and can sometimes become rigid and stubborn (TAU when there’s attachment.
Fighting for Mother Earth and all her creations is a natural MARS in TAURUS cause, as well as resisting rather than actively fighting.

twentybill_large

Themes of cooking, body, garden, money, and values are up and ready to be acted-upon, with MARS in TAU (until April 21 – which is QE’s birthday).

And hey, what’s REAL WEALTH?

On a deeper level, MARS in TAURUS helps us with grounding and embodying Spirit-in-Matter…  PLUTO in CAP has something to say about this – ‘shining by example’ – by being an embodiment of soul / spirit / essence.
MARS goes into Earth trine alignment with PLUTO on April 5, supporting simplicity and body wisdom.

In these MARS in TAURUS weeks, lets re-discover slowing down and enjoying the emBuddhament (embodiment without attachment)!

Buddha_Blessing

MARS in TAU trine PLUTO retro / stationary in CAP is one of the grounding and integrative Astro~Weather patterns this Spring, after a wild ride earlier this year. This can be a good time for finding stability in the big changes, as mentioned.
Stability in the Evolution,

It’s also an excellent energy to guard and protect sacred land and Mother Earth from exploitation and abuse of resources. MARS in TAURUS can harness resisting and defending energy, to be channeled into a deeper, evolutionary purpose.
Earth Day ahead!

Dedicated to MARS in TAU trine PLUTO retro / stationary in CAP – exact on April 5:

A MESSAGE FROM THE HOPI ELDERS

You have been telling people this is the Eleventh Hour.
Now you must go back and tell the people that this is THE Hour.
Here are the things that must be considered:
Where are you living?
What are you doing?
What are your relationships?
Are you in right relation?
Where is your water?
Know your garden.
It is time to speak your Truth.
Create your community.
Be good to each other.
And do not look outside yourself for the leader.

This could be a good time!

There is a river flowing now very fast.
It is so great and swift that there are those who will be afraid.
They will try to hold on to the shore.
They will feel like they are being torn apart, and they will suffer greatly.

Know the river has its destination.

The elders say we must let go of the shore, push off toward the middle of the river, keep your eyes open, and our heads above the water.
See who is here with you and celebrate.
At this time in history, we are to take nothing personally, least of all ourselves!
For the moment we do, our spiritual growth and journey comes to a halt.

The time of the lonely wolf is over.
Gather yourselves!
Banish the word struggle from your attitude and vocabulary.
All that we do now must be done in a sacred manner and in celebration.

We are the ones we have been waiting for.

Wesak Full Moon (SCO – TAU) 2016 (Apr 21 / 22) : * Let Buddha Nature Manifest! *

20 Apr

Buddhist Stupa under the Full Moon (Photo: Unknown Artist)

The Wesak Moon is celebrated by the Buddhist world Sangha (community) in honour of the birth, attainment of enlightenment, and passing of Gautama Siddhartha, the Buddha, who walked the Earth more than 2500 years ago, and set a model for the living Buddha in all of us.

Yes, the ‘Full Moon in May’ marks the Wesak Moon in Buddhist cultures. And that will be this year May 21 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vesak

What’s with this Full Moon on Apr 21 / 22 then?

I’d like to call the SCORPIO MOON – TAURUS SUN polarity the energetic Wesak Moon – even though not in May, but it carries a strong energy that relates to basic Buddhist teachings, and Buddhist practice also offers a ‘medicine’ for them – ‘Four Noble Truths’:

The basic suffering or even just basic dissatisfaction (‘dukkha’) in the human condition is due to attachment to the status-quo, to what’s desired, and its frustration – not getting what one wants, and not being able to get rid of the unwanted.

This is also a basic TAURUS / SCORPIO theme:

TAURUS (ruled by VENUS) represents desire, pleasure, comfort, joy, erotic attraction and assimilation through the senses (with the shadow of attachment to the material and worldly plane and to physical satisfaction, hording, stuckness, greed, stinginess). TAU carries the medicine of embodiment and sensuality.

SCORPIO (ruled by PLUTO) on the opposite side of TAU takes us to emotionally intense, uncomfortable, ‘ugly’ places where the ‘muck’ and hidden, often covered or repressed material sits. This very ‘human humus’ and shadow can’t be just ‘gotten rid of’ or ‘hidden away. It’s here to be spiritually processed so that it becomes a ‘fertilizer’ for renewal – the Alchemy of life. SCO carries transformation medicine.

Scorpio

SCORPIO is for the MOON the most ‘challenging’ sign (while the MOON is considered ‘exalted’ in TAU, it is considered ‘in fall’ in SCO):

The MOON represents our emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and the needs and habits developed from that place, which by nature long for nurturance and sustenance.

TAU is the sign that provides such sustaining delivery and assimilation – it’s all about feeding and reliable presence… whereas SCO rules necessary detoxifying elimination, partly through painful processes, which is not what our Lunar (representing also the inner child) side is most comfortable with, to put it mildly.

Under a SCO MOON (whether we are born with it, have it by progression for 2½ years every 29 years, or whether the MOON in SCO for 2½ days per month affects us), we are instinctively sensitized towards the need to purge and to ‘get rid of’ what is toxic and outlived, of what controls us, and doesn’t allow us to be free in a deeper sense. The process calls us to go into the ‘mouth of the monster’ and through its bowels even, while our head and ego might severely protest and resist. A SCO MOON experience can lead us to the deepest abyss of our inner worlds, yet is an opportunity to take us through it, and be regenerated and transformed through the process.

The SCO / TAU Wesak Moon each year is a fully solar illumined (therefore the most potent) Scorpio Moon, which brings revelation about our deepest notions for transformation.

Consciousness (represented by the Sun) has to be intent to patiently stay and ‘sit with’ (TAU quality) what comes up from the depth, for the processing. In that sense, the polarity axis of TAU – SCO can be bridged in complementary, cooperative, and productive ways.

The central spiritual (esp. Buddhist) themes of attachment & transformation are being highlighted in the ‘Bull’s Eye’ and the ‘Scorpion’s Stinger’:

The fixed earth sign TAU (ruled by VENUS) celebrates the physical senses, comfort and pleasure, and what creates security and grows over time, like a garden or a solid investment. Taurean energy takes roots, builds, cultivates, and conserves, like a gardener, farmer, and good custodian of the Earth. TAU likes to attract what’s pleasant, to experience it via the senses, to eat, assimilate and accumulate, and to claim ownership and territory. TAU slows down, after the fast and furious ARIES energy, and favours predictability and patience; therefore habits and routines are likely being formed. Its orientation is very life affirming, yet can lead to stuckness, attachment to the known and comfortable, hence has a challenge with change and letting go.

The fixed deep water sign SCO (ruled by PLUTO) in contrast to the ‘above ground’ Taurean world, penetrates the underground / underworld / underbelly, which can be a painful process (TAU – SCO also represent the pleasure – pain, and life – death axis), yet sharply points out where deep ‘down under’ transformational ‘digestion’ and purging release of something that is actually already dead needs to happen, so that it can become a fertilizer for new life.

Just as in late Oct – late Nov the leaves rot and go under the earth, the Scorpionic energy takes us to emotionally deeply affecting processes that have nowhere to go but down and through, so that the alchemical work can be performed.

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the Buddha floating on a (Taurean) lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully while being rooted in the (Scorpionic) mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality, rooted in real-life human suffering and compassion.

  • SCO was been quite the ‘boot camp’ for humanity also, under SATURN in SCO (Fall 2012 – Sept 2015), and we are integrating its lasting effects now: to process, purge, get to the bottom of things, and find completion and closure: A karmic harvest.
  • MARS, now retro (since Apr 17, until June 29) will also go back to end of SCO (May 27 – Aug 2), and provide us with energy to go into our deepest, darkest places from which liberation (the Phoenix Point to SAG) arises. Let’s be brave, inner warriors!
  • LILITH (now at the end of LIBRA) will enter SCO (in her 9-year cycle) on May 21, for 9 months, to show us our True and Unconditioned Nature in the dark and magical places. What is true intimacy with and as Life?

The peaceful (inner) Buddha ‘beyond satisfaction’ sits on a beautiful Lotus flower (SUN in TAU) that has its roots in the ‘deep, dark and dirty’ swamp (MOON in SCO).

The Yin-Yang is a perfect symbol for a balancing the Yin / Lunar and Yang / Solar influences in us, under each Full Moon, but esp. under this very astrologically potent (SCO – TAU) and spirited Wesak Moon.

YinYang Infinite

The Wesak Full Moon is a magnificent divine and meditative moment-in-time, when transformation (SCO) can be anchored (TAU). When attachment to longing, or ‘even’ to pain, incl. feeding those ‘hungry ghosts’ (TAU) that show up in obvious or subtle personal and collective / cultural addictions and compulsions (more consumption, information, work, entertainment, nothing is never enough…) can be put into the bonfire of the soul (SCO), so that the deep Alchemy can do its job.

Here is the Wesak Full Moon chart:

Wesak Moon 2016

Let’s see what the chart reveals:

The Full Moon holds the ground, and ‘underground’, through the fixed TAU – SCO axis MERCURY in TAU is the only fixed planet presently – and will go retrograde on Apr 28 (stay tuned for the Astro~News blog) – hence into ‘storm’ on the Full Moon day! We really need anchoring of energy these days!

What else is in the cosmic energy field?

As above so below and within….we ARE the field, and the catalysts for evolution and liberation:

  • A lot is getting ‘ignited’ (ARIES), and authentic choices need to be made (LILITH in LIBRA) that are also sustaining, soulful, and serve the highest purpose (PLUTO in CAP). This cardinal energy has been strongly with us, esp. with the New Moon / PLUTO in CAP (Jan 9) and recent New Moon / URANUS in AR (Apr 7). Pretty intense, and exciting (or unsettling). Transformation – Liberation.
  • VENUS in AR just squared stationary PLUTO in CAP (Apr 19), and ‘she’ will unite with URANUS in ARIES just after the Full Moon (once a year) – Let’s channel the energy that can be a draw to much quick newness but nothing sticks and is sustainable rather into a higher vibration of: In Love with Liberation from (and through) the Depth!

  • A multiple mutable T-Square can swirl us around, and shake us up...:
JUPITER retro / Lunar North Node in VIR, opposite NEPTUNE / Lunar South Node / CHIRON in PI, and both poles squaring MARS retro and SATURN retro in SAG – whoa! When things are overwhelming, ‘messy’, chaotic, and we are concerned about ‘loosing it’, going under, being wayyy to sensitive and influenced by everything (South Node / CHIRON in PI – close to the area of the Total Solar Eclipse  on March 8) we are invited to do some clearing, a healthy wellness practice, and know we ARE whole, we are perfect, and aware of what our remedy is – perhaps being in authentic, fulfilling service (JUPITER retro in VIR with the North Node). MARS / SATURN, both retro in SAG are the outlet: Finding our path from within (rather than being so distracted and unfocused, wondering “where shall I go?”.  Let’s pull the energy back, go deeper, and start from the Heart!
  • NEPTUNE in PI, opposite JUPITER in VIR (all April / May), and square with SATURN retro in SAG (June) is the big background theme of the mutable T-square: Do what comes from the Heart. Know your are whole, we’re all in this together, and all is ONE. CHIRON / NEPTUNE in PI remind us that allowing and being with what IS, in Oneness Consciousness, offers healing and is a profound timeless teaching.

Buddha Nature is everywhere, just as nature by nature is always in interconnected union, yet it can’t be held or grasped…(even photographs are merely frozen moments in the flow of life…). And there’s always more to emerge (no need to grasp! 🙂 )
Let’s be AS Nature, naturally giving and releasing, creatively blossoming and transforming!

Let Buddha Nature Manifest!

ASTROLOGICAL WESAK MOON 2015

2 May

‘Buddha’s Full Moon’ on May 3, 2015:

LET BUDDHA NATURE MANIFEST!

Bali Lotus Morning Prayer HH

Early Morning Prayer – Lotus with Orb – Photography by Helga Hendricks

The Buddhist community celebrates every year the Full Moon in May as the Wesak Moon: The Buddha’s birthday, attaining of enlightenment, and leaving of the earthly incarnation. Excellent article: http://www.crystalinks.com/wesak.html

The Wesak Moon in most years (if it happens before May 20) highlights the Taurus – Scorpio polarity astrologically whose themes are aligned with the core of the Buddhist teachings (‘Four Noble Truths’):

The basic suffering or even just basic dissatisfaction (‘dukkha’) in the human condition are due to attachment and its frustration (not getting what one wants, and not being able to get rid of the unwanted).

Scorpio (ruled by Pluto) on the opposite side of Taurus takes us to emotionally intense and uncomfortable places where the ‘muck’ and hidden, often covered or repressed material sits. This very ‘human humus’ and shadow can’t be just ‘gotten rid of’ or ‘hidden away. However its purpose is to be spiritually processed so that it becomes a ‘fertilizer’ for renewal – the Alchemy of life.

Scorpio has been quite the ‘boot camp’ for humanity also, under Saturn in Scorpio (since Oct 2012, until Dec 2014, and a ‘residual processing phase’ from June 14 – Sept 17, 2015 is coming up). The Saturn influence – soon back into Scorpio – is an incentive to get to the bottom of things and purge, and also a karmic harvest: find completion and closure.

The peaceful Buddha ‘beyond satisfaction’ sits on a beautiful Lotus flower (SUN in TAU) that has its roots in the ‘deep, dark and dirty’ pond (MOON in SCO), which can be also seen as a Tantric symbol of Yin/Yang union.

The paragraphs below *** expand on the Wesak Moon theme…

YinYang Infinite

The Yin-Yang is a perfect symbol for a balancing the Yin and Yang / Lunar and Solar influences in us under each Full Moon, but esp. under this very astrologically potent (SCO – TAU) and spirited Wesak Moon.

The Wesak Full Moon is a magnificent divine and meditative moment when transformation (SCO) can be anchored (TAU), and attachment to longing or to pain incl. feeding those ‘hungry ghosts’ (TAU) that show up in obvious or subtle personal and collective / cultural addictions and compulsions (more consumption, information, work, entertainment is never enough…) can be put into the bonfire of the soul (SCO) for the Alchemy to do its job.

Here is the Full Moon chart:

Wesak Moon 2015

Let’s see what the chart reveals:

The exact Fixed T-square of Sun (next to Mars) in TAU, Moon in SCO, and Jupiter in LEO shows us where pressures building up, in the domains of

  • Desire to have, own, build security (TAU)
  • Desire to create, be seen and loved (LEO)
  • Desire to go into deep, intimate, transformational places (SCO).

…which makes centering very challenging, yet rewarding (if not mandatory).

Can you feel the tugs, and yet the need to stay centered?

Jupiter in mid LEO (13º34’) as the apex of the Wesak Full Moon T-square (see chart) offers an outlet for the tension.

What an amazing Sabian Symbol for

14º Leo:

“A HUMAN SOUL SEEKING OPPORTUNITIES FOR OUTWARD MANIFESTATION.

Cornucopia Fractal

Keynote: The yearning for self-actualization.

Behind the many rhythms and drives of individual existence, beyond the child, the adult, and the old person, stands the soul seeking always to manifest itself through the personality. This is the transpersonal urge of the spirit, expressing itself in many ways during the whole life span. But most avenues are blocked, and the soul waits until it can wait no longer. Then comes the dramatic release, which may mean a joyous carnival or madness.

This… stage… brings a transcendental clue to the technique of living: Let the soul speak out! Allow the power of the true tone of your being to manifest itself smoothly, easily, unobstructed – or expect a variety of consequences. LET the soul manifest!”

What a powerful statement, as an outlet for the Wesak Moon tension!!!

Also in the signature of the Wesak Moon ‘matrix’:

MERCURY now in GEMINI is a flighty and ‘centrifugal’ draw to the sirens’ of inner and outer voices and quest(ion)s, tons of information, options, and choices that overstimulate our mind, vitally enhanced by the omnipresent communication cloud. So much to ‘check out’ and to sample.

Guess what? Mercury will also go retrograde in Gemini soon (May 18 – June 11), and its pre-retro shadow phase starts – on May 4!
More about the Mercury retro itinerary in the Wesak Moon AstroNews.

MERCURY will square NEPTUNE in PI 3 times, on May 9, 29 (in retro) and June 23. Let’s be extra mindful of how our energy gets drained when we let this flighty yet highly addictive ‘cloud’ have its way with us. It might take us nowhere except to superficial cruising. However letting the ‘monkey mind’ surrender (I picture a monkey with a white flag, for fun…) re-connects us to Oneness and in ‘the field’ that allows spirit to guide us (rather than ‘squirreling’ around).

As always, the Mercury retro phase is about ‘RE-adjusting’ Mind to its function of serving Consciousness (as represented by the SUN), not the other way round.

CHIRON / NEPTUNE in PI remind us that allowing and being with what IS in Oneness Consciousness offers healing and is a profound timeless teaching.

Buddha Nature is everywhere, just as nature by nature is always in interconnected union, yet it can’t be held or grasped…(even photographs are merely frozen moments in the flow of life…).

Let Buddha Nature Manifest!

*** More astrological info about the SCO – TAU Wesak Moon, and its distribution:

From fixed T-square to mutable T-square

Scorpio is for the Moon the most ‘challenging’ sign (while the Moon is considered ‘exalted’ in Taurus, it is considered ‘in fall’ in Scorpio):

The Moon represents our emotions, our instinctual mind (in a broad sense of body-mind, feeling-mind), and the needs and habits developed from that place, which by nature long for nurturance and sustenance.

Taurus slows down, after the fast and furious Aries energy, and favors predictability and patience; therefore habits and routines are likely being formed. Its orientation is very life affirming, yet can lead to stuckness, attachment to the known and comfortable, hence has a challenge with change and letting go.

The fixed deep water sign Scorpio (ruled by Pluto) in contrast to the ‘above ground’ Taurean world, penetrates the underground / underworld / underbelly, which can be a painful process (Taurus – Scorpio also represent the pleasure – pain, and life – death axis), yet sharply points out where deep ‘down under’ transformational ‘digestion’ and purging release of something that is actually already dead needs to happen, so that it can become a fertilizer for new life.

Just as in late Oct – late Nov the leaves rot and go under the earth, the Scorpionic energy takes us to emotionally deeply affecting processes that have nowhere to go but down and through, so that the alchemical work can be performed.

In Buddhist tradition, the image of the Buddha floating on a (Taurean) lotus flower that blossoms so purely and beautifully while being rooted in the (Scorpionic) mud swamp, represents the enlightened quality of having gone through and continuing going through deep processes. The embodiment of the enlightened consciousness continues and sustains.

The Sun – Moon Full Moon tension in Scorpio / Taurus sheds light from an astrological perspective on the Wesak theme every year. It offers a strong reception, safeguarding, and distribution of spiritual energy on the Earth plane from many dimensions and traditions.

Wesak Moon

The Wesak Moon offers a very potent time for receptivity, assimilation, and attunement to the cosmic energies, meditation and openness to transformational change. Its effects extend over several months, some people say until the next Wesak Moon, a year later.

The spiritually auspicious Wesak Full Moon in its charged Scorpio / Taurus energy has been building up well before and is still available well after the exact alignment, as it requires and also helps us to ground ourselves, even in the apparent predicament and abyss of it all. So let’s be present with what IS, even with overpowering inner and ‘external’ demons, while sustaining a vision for humanity, together with others (the universal Sangha = spiritual community)!

The Wesak Full Moon 2015 highlights 13º22’ Scorpio and Taurus (see chart).

The Sabian Symbol for 14º Scorpio (for the Moon) says,

“TELEPHONE LINEMEN AT WORK INSTALLING NEW CONNECTIONS.

Connection

Keynote: The need to establish new channels of communication.

The growth of community feeling among separated human beings requires the development of constantly more complex means of interchanging feelings and ideas. Wherever this symbol is found, the indication is that such channels of communication are essential for the success of any interpersonal relationship. They are not only to be built, but to be used significantly and wisely.

This… symbol brings to our attention the essential value of communicating with our fellow-men and even our close associates – with whom such a communication may not always be easy. There can be no communion without communication at some level, including the level of biological attunement.
Keyword: The WILL to ASSOCIATION or COMPREHENSION.”

This points us to use the Scorpionic transformation for new ways of hearing, listening, comprehending, responding, commun(icat)ing…

Sounds like Mercury in Gemini opposing Saturn in SAG retro on May 3 – and Mercury retrograde foreshadowing to me…

Here is a corresponding quote by J. Krishnamurti that just ‘popped up’ this evening in a small booklet from the Krishnamurti Educational Centre of Canada:

“We can understand our problems only if we have the capacity to listen, to pay full attention, and such attention is not possible if we are seeking an end, an answer. There is attention only when the mind is really quiet, and then it is able to receive, to comprehend; but a mind that is occupied with its own answers that is caught up in the search for a result is never quiet, and such a mind is incapable of full attention. So I think it is important to listen with full attention, not just to what is being said, but to everything in life, for only then is the mind free to discover that is true and find out if there is something beyond its inventions.”

The Gemini (Mercury) – Sag (Saturn) opposition is also very apropos what follows the exact Wesak Moon:

In esoteric traditions (see http://www.wesak.us/articles.php), the day of the Wesak Festival is considered the “day of safeguarding”, followed by 2 succeeding “days of distribution”.

In short, on the Wesak Moon day (of safeguarding), the spiritual community is called to regard themselves as recipients and custodians of as much of that inflowing spiritual force as they can possibly hold. This corresponds with the quality and capacity of fixed signs, and is a perfect expression for the Scorpio / Taurus Full Moon, this year active from Saturday May 2 at 6:47 pm PDT until Tue May 5 at 4:13 am PDT, peaking at the exact Full Moon, at 8:42 pm PDT on Sun May 3 (see chart).

In the days of distribution following the festival, it is suggested to turn the attention away from one’s inner subjective planes, in order to pass on the spiritual energy that has been received, ‘to whom it may concern’.

This corresponds with the mutable, distributing and ‘broadcasting’ Sagittarius Moon that follows the Scorpio Moon ‘container’ (active from Tue May 5 at 4:13 am PDT to Thu May 7 at 11:16 am PDT).

The days of distribution will be this year quite charged as well:

The SAG Moon will be on May 5 conjunct Saturn, opposite Mercury in Gemini, and square Neptune in Pisces – a mutable T-square (following the fixed T-square!)!

Outlet for this Gemini / Sag tension that can be quite ‘centrifugal’ (Sag can have an agenda, and knows what’s the way to go, Gemini questions and wonders…) is Neptune in Pisces:

Surrendering to Oneness in the quantum field, letting BE, letting GO, being okay with what-IS, being available without getting ‘hooked’, relaxing our attachments, and letting the universe unfold.
