Here’s in review the recent Martian in LEO Summer Weather (June 11 – July 29).
With meteo weather to match, here on the West Coast – it’s been hot and summery since early June, with ‘heat dome’ heat wave up to unheard-of 40 degrees, end of June.
MARS has been travelling since June 1 1/2 – 1 signs ahead of the SUN, in summery LEO / CANCER, culminating with both heavenly bodies simultaneously in LEO July 22 – 29, right round the AQ – LEO Full Moon / Thunder Moon on July 23 / 24.
What a HOT Summer, energetically and literally, temperatures and wild fire record wise…
And we’re ‘only’ half-way IN, as this is the LAMMAS week of mid-Summer.
You might wonder, how long will MARS be ahead of the SUN?
Oct 7 – day after the LIBRA New Moon (with MARS & MERCURY retro) – is the day when the LIBRA SUN passes MARS. Spirit, Consciousness leads, and Warrior energy will follow.
With MARS ahead (since it went retro in ARIES, Sept 9 – Nov 13, 2020, but esp. noticeable this Spring / early Summer), the Warrior has been in charge, esp. in the field of the War in / about Medicine (MARS / CHIRON in ARIES).
In contrast, MARS, then in LIBRA, will soon step behind the SUN, just the day after the LIBRA New Moon on Oct 6, offering us Earthlings a balancing way of using energy, for Peace, Justice, Balance, and Culture.
Have you noticed the recent Martian shift, from fiery LEO to earthy VIRGO?
Helping us integrate the super charged heat of the SUMMER, and working with what we love!
MARS followed VENUS into VIRGO, after all, who’s been already operating in the energy of Priestess since July 21.
STRENGTH, and Working with what we LOVE, are key Themes for the LEO – VIRGO Cusp, and for MARS following VENUS.
What is real Strength?

MARS in VIRGO & the Mayan / Cosmic New Year of the Yellow Electric Seed
Actively / pro-actively service oriented MARS in VIRGO is a great complement & kick-starter of the Mayan / Cosmic New Year that began on July 26, just 3 days before MARS’s entry into VIRGO.
Two cosmic sources to draw energy from that we can channel into planting seeds of awareness & service – without any personal ego hang-ups about them to sprout. Nice challenge…
MARS in VIRGO Initiates us (back) into Pro-Active Wellness, Healthy Practice, and Alignment with our Cosmic Assignment:
- To put Love & Confidence into Competence & Service.
- To actively discern, and even assert, what works for us and what doesn’t, and to work diligently on what we’re passionate about – maybe finally making it a priority.
- To pro-actively take care of our own wellness, on all levels.
Supported long-term also by ‘Wounded Healer’ CHIRON, now (2019 – 2026) in ARIES (ruled by MARS): It all starts with ME!
- To make the world a better place, with intentional (make sure they’re not unsolicited) acts of service.
- Check in whether you actually want (MARS) to do these things for others (VIR), and backtrack if not, find a new motivation or back off. Gotta be authentic, is also what CHIRON, now in MARS’s domain ARIES says.
- VIRGO is so critical-analytical (in order to discern) – which can be even more energized.
Use the energy well, rather than putting so much into aggressive (self) criticism.
- No need to be overly picky, or sweat the small stuff!
- And when it comes to actually hands-on doing the sorting, cleaning, clearing – this is the perfect time.
Just get started (MARS), see what jobs present themselves, and how satisfying it can be to do them.
MARS, once fully in VIRGO, and activated with the LEO New MOON on 08-08, calls us to give energy to healthy & helpful activities, to engage in health / wellness related activism, and to do what’s in alignment with our own wholeness and wellness.
After all, only when we’re well can we help others.
And it’s also a good energy to develop useful and helpful modalities and techniques – incl. skills to deal with conflict.
MARS will be in VIRGO from July 29 – Sept 14

How so?
VIRGO is health, wellness, and practice oriented.
Wellness is Wholeness, says VIRGO.
MARS is quite adamant about this, and passionate about wellness practice, and health & lifestyle tools that make one self sufficient (yep, d.i.y. is so VIRGO), and fit, to do the work we’re passionate about.
MARS in VIRGO can be also quite the Health & Wellness Advocate / Warrior.
As well as the Warrior of the ‘Working People’.
When VIRGO is ‘in place’ (one is in a healthy way self sufficient, and doesn’t need ‘the other’), healthy LIBRAN relatedness and partnership come in.
Similarly, skills, techniques, and crafts (VIR) are required for art (LIBRA). Diligent assessment of facts and evidence (VIR) is required to make a legal case (LIBRA).
When the Summer work of harvesting is done there’s peace, and it’s time to celebrate at the Harvest Moon dance!

A great day to start a new project. Or shall I say: to start a clearing project? Since 5, soon 6 Planets are currently retro, calling us to deal with ‘unfinished businesses’ of various kinds and dimensions.

Rather than being wrapped-up in (criticizing) agenda / judgment / targeting people and their path, or frenetically rushing in the wrong direction, critically question the narrative (theirs, yours), and engage in conversation and respectful debate, where it’s not about winning but about learning.

Quite the initiation into what it means to be in integrity and work with what works for us, while also surfing the ‘chaotic’ waves of Life. Balance skills and discernment with adaptation, wonder, allowing, letting go and letting BE.

MARS goes into another Earth trine with PLUTO retro in CAP, and into quincunx with JUPITER retro in AQ
It’s a journey – to be in solid integrity & simplicity, while also be in community – at this time of change. Know you can always retreat into your ‘Soul Cave’ / ‘Work Cave’, and come out clearer as to what needs to be done.

The New MOON in VIR meets MARS
Another opportunity (like a month prior, on Aug 9), only this time with more experience and practice (and it’s VIR season), for a start into a new healthy routine, practice, line of work and service. Plant seeds.
Better to get it off the ground when SATURN will be out of retro (Oct 10), after the LIBRA New Moon (Oct 6) and Day of Enlightening Insight (Oct 9).
SEPT 14
MARS goes into LIBRA (until Oct 30).
Passion for Peace, Balance, Fairness, Justice, and Synergistic Relationships.
Make sure you take care of your own inner balance first before negotiating / asserting fairness and balance with others and in the world.
