* CAPRICORN New Moon with PLUTO (Jan 9): Simple Soul Power.

Seems like TIME has a ‘life of its own’ – Christmas with the Full Moon was ‘only’ 2 weeks ago – seems like ages – for you too?

Somehow, a sigh of relief, to step into ‘the ordinary’ and into more simplicity again – or to realize right off the bat when CAP sets in what the celebration is all about.

The sacred time of year that marks the Return of the Light and how / what that reflects in us.

The CAP SUN is now in our Northern Hemisphere from Earth perspective ‘climbing’ again in the ecliptic (slightly ‘higher’ every day), and the daylight is gradually increasing, daily a minute or so for now, in the cold of Winter, and eventually, from Feb on exponentially more.

Likewise, CAP energy is fueled by the spirit of gradual, grounded, consistent improvement, building and ‘climbing’, persevering, enduring, being prepared and equipped to make it, on the ‘way up’.

How do we relate to that intrinsic quality of ‘when the going gets tough the tough get going’? Or is that another myth of glory-through-hardship?

We live in a world of conditioned CAP ‘stories’ and history that PLUTO (since 2009 for the first time in CAP since the late 1700’s) is bringing up for transformation. With PLUTO, mind you, it often ‘gets intense as it changes’.

The whole imperialistic and capitalistic framework of modern societies has produced a huge mountain of redundant stuff that the Earth is not capable of ‘digesting’, obviously, without serious ‘side effects’. And the paradigm of being motivated by ‘ownership’ (a BIG one) is so ingrained  in our external reward-conditioned minds (“It’s worth working long hours – maybe not in a soulful way – to earn $$$ and time for the holidays, retirement, or other incentives). Very apropos the TAURUS undertone of mid-CAP where PLUTO is now (until 2018) and where the New Moon activates release and renewal.

This CAP NEW MOON with PLUTO (the SUN passed PLU already on Jan 5 – so it’s a SUN / PLU week in fact, and the MOON will pass PLU tonight – before the New Moon) is a powerhouse. A quiet, internal one though. MERCURY retro, now also back in CAP contributes.

It marks the transition of a release and closure not only of a monthly cycle (as every NM does) but punctuates the big epochal, collective changes of structures and hierarchies that we see under PLUTO in CAP. What an opening into 2016!

What role do values, security, stability, ownership, and money play in all of this? A big one, now as PLUTO is in mid CAP which has a TAU undertone.

CAP, relating to mountains, structures, and hierarchies also asks:
“Who’s above, who’s below?” in terms of social hierarchies.

And since ancestors and history are also themes, this could be an inquiry:
“Were your ancestors ‘above’ others, or ‘below’ others? And how has that affected your family history and your psyche?”

“What has been disempowering about this story, either via guilt, deprivation, disrespect, abuse, etc.?”
“How is this now, in the hologram of your world, coming up to be transformed?

I woke up this morning with the question: “Who owns the land?” – and how’s that related to my ancestry and my life experience, tuning into the NM / PLUTO in mid CAP.

So I just wanted to look up the whole text of the famous Chief Seattle speech, and quote to you from there, and to my surprise (well, Mercury retro is in effect) found in the ‘urban legends’ (lol in this context) site http://www.snopes.com/quotes/seattle.asp that it might be falsely attributed to Chief Seattle, and was actually written by screenwriter Mr. Perry in 1971. To me, it essentially counts that it is a profound prophetic advocacy for living with the land and in respect for the Earth. Of course, the actual author needs to be honoured, but even that speech isn’t ‘owned’ by anyone. Concentric circles… 🙂
Here is a beautiful video adaptation with voice and photos from Finland, to add another layer of fusion https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OLw56hHbpYI

…and the text of the powerful, timeless, and ever so timely speech (wherever it came from)…:

Chief Seattle

Chief Seattle

“How can you buy or sell the sky, the warmth of the land? The idea is strange to us. If we do not own the freshness of the air and the sparkle of the water, how can you buy them?

Every part of the Earth is sacred to my people. Every shining pine needle, every sandy shore, every mist in the dark woods, every clear and humming insect is holy in the memory and experience of my people. The sap which courses through the trees carries the memory and experience of my people. The sap which courses through the trees carries the memories of the red man.

The white man’s dead forget the country of their birth when they go to walk among the stars. Our dead never forget this beautiful Earth, for it is the mother of the red man. We are part of the Earth and it is part of us. The perfumed flowers are our sisters, the deer, the horse, the great eagle, these are our brothers. The rocky crests, the juices in the meadows, the body heat of the pony, and the man, all belong to the same family.

So, when the Great Chief in Washington sends word that he wishes to buy our land, he asks much of us. The Great White Chief sends word he will reserve us a place so that we can live comfortably to ourselves. He will be our father and we will be his children. So we will consider your offer to buy land. But it will not be easy. For this land is sacred to us.

This shining water that moves in streams and rivers is not just water but the blood of our ancestors. If we sell you land, you must remember that it is sacred blood of our ancestors. If we sell you land, you must remember that it is sacred, and you must teach your children that it is sacred and that each ghostly reflection in the clear water of the lakes tells of events in the life of my people. The waters murmur is the voice of my father’s father.

The rivers of our brothers they quench our thirst. The rivers carry our canoes and feed our children. If we sell you our land, you must remember to teach your children that the rivers are our brothers, and yours, and you must henceforth give the rivers the kindness that you would give my brother. We know that the white man does not understand our ways. One portion of land is the same to him as the next, for he is a stranger who comes in the night and takes from the land whatever he needs. The Earth is not his brother, but his enemy and when he has conquered it, he moves on. He leaves his father’s graves behind, and he does not care. He kidnaps the Earth from his children, and he does not care.

His father’s grave, and his children’s birthright are forgotten. He treats his mother, the Earth, and his brother, the same, as things to be bought, plundered, sold like sheep or bright beads. His appetite will devour the Earth and leave behind only a desert.

I do not know. Our ways are different from yours ways. The sight of your cities pains the eyes of the red man. But perhaps it is because the red man is a savage and does not understand.

There is no quiet place in the white man’s cities. No place to hear the unfurling of leaves in spring, or the rustle of an insect’s wings. But perhaps it is because I am a savage and do not understand. The clatter only seems to insult the ears. And what is there to life if a man cannot hear the lonely cry of a whippoorwill or the arguments of the frogs around a pond at night. I am a red man and do not understand. The Indian prefers the soft sound of the wind darting over the face of the pond, and the smell of the wind itself, cleansed by a midday rain, or scented with the pinon pine.

The air is precious to the red man, for all things share the same breath – the beast, the tree, the man, they all share the same breath. The white man does not seem to notice the air he breathes. Like a man dying for many days, he is numb to the stench. But if we sell you our land, you must remember that the air is precious to us, that the air shares its spirit with all the life it supports. The wind that gave our grandfather his first breath also receives his last sigh. And if we sell you our land, you must keep it apart and sacred, as a place where even the white man can go to taste the wind that is sweetened by the meadow’s flowers.

So we will consider your offer to buy our land. If we decide to accept, I will make one condition – the white man must treat the beasts of this land as his brothers.

I am a savage and do not understand any other way. I have seen a thousand rotting buffaloes on the prairie, left by the white man who shot them from a passing train. I am a savage and do not understand how the smoking iron horse can be made more important than the buffalo that we kill only to stay alive.

What is man without the beasts? If all the beasts were gone, man would die from a great loneliness of the spirit. For whatever happens to the beasts, soon happens to man. All things are connected.

You must teach your children that the ground beneath their feet is the ashes of our grandfathers. So that they will respect the land, tell your children that the Earth is rich with the lives of our kin. Teach your children what we have taught our children, that the Earth is our mother. Whatever befalls the Earth befalls the sons of the Earth. If men spit upon the ground, they spit upon themselves.

This we know – the Earth does not belong to man – man belongs to the Earth. This we know. All things are connected like the blood which unites one family. All things are connected.

Whatever befalls the Earth – befalls the sons of the Earth. Man did not weave the web of life – he is merely a strand in it. Whatever he does to the web, he does to himself.

Even the white man, whose God walks and talks with him as friend to friend, cannot be exempt from the common destiny. We may be brothers after all. We shall see. One thing we know, which the white man may one day discover – Our God is the same God. You may think now that you own Him as you wish to own our land, but you cannot. He is the God of man, and His compassion is equal for red man and the white. The Earth is precious to Him, and to harm the Earth is to heap contempt on its creator. The whites too shall pass, perhaps sooner than all other tribes.

But in your perishing you will shine brightly, fired by the strength of the God who brought you to this land and for some special purpose gave you dominion over this land and over the red man. That destiny is a mystery to us, for we do not understand when the buffalo are slaughtered, the wild horses tamed, the secret corners of the forest heavy with scent of many men, and the view of the ripe hills blotted by talking wires. Where is the thicket? Gone. Where is the Eagle? Gone. The end of living and the beginning of survival.”

Attributed to Chief Seattle.

“How do we treat and work with what’s given to us, with respect and integrity?” asks the CAP ‘goat’.

“How do we use and work with time and resources, incl. our body in a way that’s sustainable, rather than exploiting and abusive?”

Simple, yet not always easy questions to ask, in our modern ‘matrix’ – which is changing. Every step in the right direction counts.

Not just ‘Less is More’ (which is still based on giving higher value to ‘more’), but actually ‘Less is Fulfilling’ says the CAP goat. Carrying (and owning and managing) less definitely frees up energies, not just on the mountain, but in life in general.

Inquiring and diving into essence is powerful, says PLUTO, now in CAP, catalyzed by MERCURY.

SUN / PLU / MER in CAP remind us that very action from the spirit of integrity, aligned with core truth and basic common sense contributes energetically, and empowers immediately.

So let’s purge what’s redundant, has outlived its purpose, isn’t in alignment (anymore, with the consciousness of now).

Let’s honour, and work with resources (incl. inner hidden, buried, and unused ones, says MERCURY retro in CAP, approaching PLUTO), and build in quality consciousness.

And the desire to own and control (mid-CAP with TAU undertone) can be transformed (PLUTO) into deep appreciation of (its) Nature.

A ceremony to mark the transition from the old to the new consciousness, and invoke universal power (PLUTO) would be very apropos this New Moon.

Soul Power is what we’re deeply moved to connect with now.

This quote (from Loving Each Day) found me the other day: “The spark of God individualized within each human being is the Soul, which is the basic element of our existence. The Soul is forever connected to God. The connection is perfect and intimate; it is the source from which we draw our life.” – John-Roger. D.S.S.

Time to bring out the PLUTO Powered CAP NEW MOON chart

The CAP NEW MOON will be at 5:13 pm PST today Jan 9.

CAP NM 2016 Card T-Square

The chart shows the SUN / MOON / PLUTO alignment in CAP, apex of a Cardinal T-square, and MERCURY retro approaching them (Mercury will meet them all between Jan 10 and 22).

  • What matters most, and has priority? Deep check-in on essential values.
  • What is the best way of using our time and resources?
  • What is unused and available (sitting in a hidden spot – maybe IN us)?
  • How can… be used for the highest purpose?
  • How can we contribute to the Big Shift – in our world and life – even with ‘small acts of  kindness and service (MERCURY retro in late CAP trines JUPITER / North Node in VIR (exactly Jan 14)?
  • What comes UP and OUT now for transformation and purification, re: old ancestral burdens, shame, control, and disempowerment? How can the energy itself (without the story) sustain you?
  • What is a purpose, project, or responsibility that would be timely and fulfilling now?
  • How do you contribute to energy-through-simplicity?
  • What is simple but effective, as it sustains and regenerates you? Maybe a certain practice (JUPITER in VIR)?

And yes, the CAP ‘stellium’ of New Moon, Pluto, together with approaching  MERCURY forms the apex / outlet of a T-square from URANUS in ARIES, and LILITH in LIBRA – which is (with PLUTO as the apex) in effect until end of Feb.

More about the Cardinal T-square in one of the next blog posts: * Winter T-square to PLUTO in CAP in effect until Feb 2016, exact every Fri / Sat, via the MOON: Integrating the 2012 – 2015 (R)Evolutionary Changes.

Keeping it simple here… and just pointing it out. PLUTO in CAP is the outlet:

Soul Power guides us through the transformation of consciousness, and helps us integrate the deep changes that have been happening already.

* A Brief Look at the Numbers

What I noticed with the New Moon date is that it falls on 01 / 09. So we have the # 9 of completion (very Capricornian too) and # 1 of new beginnings (very Aries) in combination. And from the Lunar perspective, a cycle closes, and another one opens. In this case a huge one, with PLUTO involved.

Seems like we get (Mercurial) messages from several angles and sources. I encourage you to tune in and hear what the deepest intrinsic guidance says to you about the essence of this time.

* Sabian Symbol for the New Moon at 19°13’ CAP

Wow, another confirming synchronicity: Just found this AFTER coming home from a devotional Kirtan practice that I found very powerful and unifying, for the connection in commUnity, and within myself. 🙂

Keynote: The fulfillment of the individual’s creative function through his / her participation in a group performance consecrated to a transcendent realization of unity.

In great cathedrals and other religious edifices the choir is normally hidden behind the altar or above the nave. It symbolizes thus more perfectly the supernal harmony of ‘heaven’ – or the music of the spheres. The ideal of social participation is exalted to its highest manifestation, for the choir also represents the multifaceted and polyphonic unity of the community and its transcendent state of perfect harmony. Within this harmony the individual who has overcome his egocentric separateness and developed his / her higher consciousness finds fulfillment in superpersonal togetherness.

This symbol presents us with the purest form of group-harmony, the most basic yet most difficult fulfillment of the social state. At the level of the individual person this ‘hidden choir’ would refer to the polyphonic integration of all faculties in their most spiritual manifestation: the ideal of PLENITUDE of being.”

This symbol shows us a (perhaps ideal, yet inspiring) model for transformational, fulfilling, regenerative, shared ‘working with freely available energies’ . Very cool – also apropos PLUTO in CAP. Where’s the ‘hidden choir’ in your world?

I had a “what about the land” moment too one day when Inwas following the Cathar trail in Provence one year, and sitting on a wall at the top of their last refuge I caught a passing thought from the past which was “who’s going to look after the land?”

My first visit to your blog – thank you for your insights. Juli.
